First and foremost, this class brings a sign of releaif. The thought of graduating in a mere five weeks amazing. I have being on my education journey at King University since the beginning of 2015. Thus, having a family of 7, working full-time, tend to make college a challenge that I can almost say, I have conquered. To be honest, I have enjoyed every minute. For the last thirteen years, I have worked for a local grocery distribution center. To the blind eye, there is a lot of man power that goes into operating a successful grocery business. I currently work in a warehouse that is notorious a minus 10 degrees, filled with anything type of frozen food. However, I am happy to say, I most spend my time working in a warm office. Thus, can
The warming atmosphere is one of a kind. Behind the counter are the caring faces of not just a worker, but a friend. Regular guests are called by name, sharing stories of families and the past week with the welcoming employees. Sitting all around in tables and booths are patrons from every category. Beside the window on a high table to the left is a lawyer, to the right is a mother and her two kids. In a booth in the back is a construction worker still covered slightly in concrete from a road job he had been working on back on 19th Street. All of these, enjoying a delicious meal of their special combination.
The environment of the modern day grocery store can be quite stressful. It is here, that people truly show their disposition. Its almost like the act of standing behind people equally as frustrated is a form of torture, and only then does the truth come out. The truth is, most people live boring lives, and this chore puts an emphasis on boredom. Most people tend to forget about one thing during this grueling experience, and that is the employee. When a customer becomes frustrated, they take it out on the employee, but when the employee becomes frustrated with agitated customers the same outlet is not available. During my first semester of college, I felt like this course overshadowed all the others. I faced many challenges, gained better habits, and even increased the value of myself as a scholar. Not only did my professor provide her students with the course material she built a confidence inside of us that will allow us to be able to tackle any task, especially pertaining to any written compositions. The things that I have learned from this course could and will be applied to any and everything I do from here on out, whether that writing an essay or even taking a test. Again, the journey was long, but I will be forever grateful for the things that I, and all of my peers have gained from this
Prompt: In 500 words or more, describe your collegiate experience thus far. How has this experience and the knowledge you've gained influenced what you plan to study? How have they influenced your decision to apply to St. Edward's?
This class was far more intense than what I expected but I was able to make it through the semester. I learned a lot from this class that I will carry into the future and use in other classes. All of the revision and feedback I have received during the time in the class helped me in the end. I feel like I am gradually becoming a better writer. I will take everything that I have learned in this class and use it for future reference when writing papers. I overall have enjoyed this class this semester.
Happy Hat, a U.S. national chain of frozen yogurt stores with about 500 stores in 40 states is asking for assistance with its business processes. The average number of visitors per store has held constant over the past several years, but revenues per store are down by an average of 10%, and many stores are no longer profitable. The client suspects that a large amount of inventory is being thrown away unused at the end of each day. At the same time, customer polling suggests that the yogurt flavor customers want is often not available, even when the flavor is posted on the menu. People also complain about stores being closed when they visit. Now, the chain is facing increased competition from frozen yogurt sold in 24-hour grocery stores. Happy
Being a scholar is a challenge that I take on everyday. The most challenging classes I took this year will have to be AP English Language and Algebra II Honors. AP English Language is my first AP class I have taken and it was really challenging. The most challenging part about being in AP English Language was the level of expectation on your work. English has always been my hardest subject and taking this course was a big step. My essay grades were very low so I had to work extra hard in all my other work to keep my grade up. Also, I was really scared about the AP exam but Ms.Pruden really prepared us for it, I went in and used everything she taught me to try and pass the exam. Algebra II Honors will have to be the most challenging class this
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this capstone class. I was sure what I wanted some knowledge and tools that I could apply to my current and future jobs.
I liked how you were able to change the status indicator of how well you knew the material on each question, that made it easier to score point and not lose as many when you got it wrong. I also liked that after getting five consecutive questions in a row right that it started giving you bonus points for it. Also if you got five wrong in a row that it would tell you to take a break and come back later after a certain amount of time so you could gather your thoughts a bit. All of the PowerPoints and mini games and quizzes located throughout each module really helped me and definitely broadened my understanding of everything throughout the semester. What lessons that I will take with me is that everything has a bigger meaning in the world. There is more that goes into society than we know and it makes me want to think deeper about how it all works. Each person and group plays a role in society and there are so many aspects about each one that it is never the same, which is insane. After this course I will be able to analyze patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture better, which I think is important especially when you are an active member of society and just in
The associations that we have with our sellers and suppliers have been beneficial for both sides of the companies. They have always provided the best quality of product unfortunately, the recent occurrences did not mirror this. Last month, we got the news that many of our customers had to be hospitalized do to a contaminated dish that we served at our restaurant. Therefore, I have conducted a widespread investigation, and we found out that when our supplier was delivering our products, his vehicle refrigeration system was not functioning adequately. In order to deliver healthy food to restaurants every supplier needs a refrigeration unit.
I really liked brushing up on my math skills and learning more that will benefit my long and short term goals. I really think the last three weeks of class in problem solving, financing, and statistic will help me in my future. I am now confident in my capability to solve word problems or even the math problems I face every day. I feel like I am going to be able to solve any problem with a logical answer. I have an understanding on how financing works and how much interest stacks ups on loans. I know technical terms, like compounding interest, to help me start a retirement or savings account. All I learn in financing is going to be very beneficial to my money conservation in the future. I also have a better idea about statistics and how to collect the date and concluded if it is bias or not. Math 105 has been a great class to help me understand how math works in my life. I think a lot of people should take this class, whether it is for a degree or
This Quarter has been a very interesting one. At the beginning of the quarter I was a recently graduated nurse who had just passed the NCLEX and began my first job as a nurse at a hospital who hadn’t thought too deeply about what I would be doing beyond that. Today I am a much better nurse able to perform my job better, not just from job experience, but from what I am learning in this class as well. I have learned a great deal from this course I still have more to learn from it. I still strive to learn how to be more professional and be able to have a greater impact on my patients having a positive outcome. I feel like I can achieve this by reading, assignments, and collaborating with my classmates taking lessons from their views and experience.
The new year begins and Learning Strategies is on your schedule. Truly, you are probably not knowing what to expect and you think that this class is not for you. Boy, are you wrong. This class will save you plenty of time, so you better listen closely. At the end, you will leave the class wondering why no one ever showed me this. So listen up! The three most useful things that I learned in this class are: my learning style, how to take notes when reading a textbook, and how to be a more successful student at college.
Over the course of the semester, I have learned a few things about myself. I have learned that I can be independent, I always knew myself as someone who could do mostly everything on their own. This semester really made me realize how independent I could actually be. Not only have I learned how independent I am I have also realized the importance of time management. With not having a strict class schedule it was a lot different than what I was originally used to. After a few weeks, I learned ways that would work best for me, for example writing down that I needed to get done. I learned that I need to focus on what 's ahead of me to accomplish what I want to succeed in, to manage what needs to be done ahead of time to stay caught up.
...new classes, I soon realized what would be the biggest challenge of college: deciding on a major. Yes, I am one of those people who started college without first declaring a major. I soon heard every question, suggestion, and response regarding possible options. I even began concocting false majors to throw some people off. Large-Scale Demolition was a crowd favorite.
