When you try really hard but fail is a lot better than never trying. Making decisions is a huge part of anyone's life because you make them every day. Calling in sick to work to go hangout out with your friends is not as bad as it seems. I work 5 days a week that means I really only have one day out of the week to go do something with my friends. It was a nice cool Friday night and a group of people were going out for the night to a amusement park. This was the last night of the event and myself has not been this year, but I had to work that Friday night. Now the first thing I thought of was oh I can't go I have to work. Now a high school job is not a life-changing job it is a source of money and to build character, Calling off is not a huge
Walking into Walnut Hills High School right now would have anyone thinking the just walked into the middle of a tornado. Everyone you look there are students running in and out of doors, in and out of cars, and most certainly either turning in missing assignments or retaking tests. There is only one way for you to explain all this ciaos, Senior Year, the year that all teens await with so much excitement and ambition and the year that every single hour long study dates pays off. For the class of 2021 this isn’t just their final year at Walnut Hills this is the year that friends separate and head off to their different university to follow their dreams.
While only a small percentage of the entire workforce was able to participate in the event, its intention was to provide employees with something to strive toward. It was also rejuvenating for those given the opportunity to attend. The event was inspiring and left you with the feeling that you work for a great company and they do care about you; so much so that they are willing to spend a lot of money and provide you with a wonderful experience . The event also focused heavily on the driving force of the company: the students and helping them to improve and change their lives. Employees returned to work feeling inspired and ready to do just that. The event provided the company with an opportunity to invest in their employees, reward them, and make them feel
A couple of weeks ago, the class was assigned a personal narrative essay and the prompt was to tell an interesting story of a specific experience that changed how you acted, thought, or felt. To be honest, I was awfully excited to write this essay because talking about myself is the easiest thing to write about sometimes. However, deciding what experience to talk about was challenging because I have already experienced so much in my seventeen years of being alive from dislocating my hip when I was three, to seeing my grandfather die in front of my eyes, from almost tripping off of the trail on the Grand Canyon, to meeting band members at an airport. Writing this essay brought me many challenges, I did not know what topic to choose, I had no
This topic has brought out a lot of ideas that have been storming inside of my head for a while now. The topic I have chosen is that simply High school and how that has affected me a ton. Now how has this affected me you may ask well it has changed my responsibility's and changed my life. Well every morning I have to wake up early and be so tired the last thing I truly want to do is go to school well someone has to do it and that someone is me. School is really boring and half the stuff if not more you will never use but you must still learn it all if you ever want to be successful in life. i am here to tell you that I have accomplished years of high school and can accomplish those hard years of college. Thank you for your
During my first semester of college I was enrolled in a freshman English class. I began to notice college was nothing like high school. In high school I could wait till last minute to complete an essay and still get an A on the paper with little to no effort. When my first college essay was due I waited till the day before to finally sit down and start writing my paper. I turned my paper in with confidence thinking I was going to get an A. We received our papers back two days later; I was stud to see I had gotten a low C on my paper.
When I was entering into High School, I tried to join as many clubs as I can, since I wanted not only to be superior in grades, but also extracurricular activities. So as usual, I joined Key Club. At first volunteering at the events was fun, but as I went to more events, it felt as if it was a chore. I did not feel any passion; it was rather tiresome.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to never give up and that everything in life happens for a reason. Throughout my entire life my dreams have been put down by society, wether it was a coach, friend, or family member. Everything I gain is because of me and only me. When I started my first year of high school, I knew I wasn't ready to maintain my academics, my social life, and my sports schedule all at once. I was completely intimidated by everything occurring in my life at the time.
The last couple of years have been a long bumpy ride for me, as they have for everyone my age. No matter what, everyone has experienced many of the same "teenage" circumstances as I have and has dealt with them in their own way. As a personal participant in this "game", we call life, I would say I worked hard for and earned first place. That is just my creative view on things. Too bad, not everyone sees it in the same light as I do.
A little girl goes to school for the first time wearing a blue striped t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and a brand new pair of sneakers. She wakes up early, fearful, excited, but mostly giddy. For such a little girl, she is exceptionally intelligent. She is ready to learn and has been asking her Mommy when this day would come for what has felt like a life time in kid years. Her mother did her hair in pigtails for the occasion, her outfit was laid out a week ahead, and her backpack had been packed for weeks. Her first day would have been amazing. Her new teacher asked each student what they wanted to be when they grew up. The girl said, “I want to be a soldier.” She was proud of the soldiers, her Grandpa was a soldier. But something happened, the teacher said, “You can’t do that, pick something else. You’re just a girl.”
Let’s flash back in time to before our college days. Back to then we had lunch trays filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, stale pizza, and bags of chocolate milk. A backpack stacked with Lisa Frank note books, flexi rulers, and color changing pencils. The times where we thought we wouldn’t make it out alive, but we did. Through all the trials and tribulations school helped build who I am today and shaped my future. From basic functions all the way to life-long lessons that helped shape my character.
Sports-also known as, the only thing small schools can use to get their names out there, that’s why they are such a big deal, unless there’s a rare chance that a super gifted kid is attending that school.
The situation was insane. Not only did I have to make time in the busy schedule of my junior year to take a few days off from school to attend the District One East High School Band Festival, but I actually had to audition to get a decent seat. Don't get me wrong; I was thrilled about attending. I just wasn't looking forward to having to make up two day's worth of schoolwork. For once, I would be attending a festival where the seating arrangement wasn't based on how fast you could sprint to the stage from your seat in the auditorium, but on how talented of a musician you were. And the music for the audition? Amazingly difficult. I knew many of the other students from other competitions and festivals, so I was familiar with their talent and ability. Based on that knowledge, I decided that I had no chance of placing higher in the rankings than, say, a jar of mayonnaise.
Our job was to help those students feel less stress, more at home in a new school before the school year started, and to know what to expect when they showed up to school on their first day. While many students decide to participate in this at some point, I decided to participate each year that I could after I had experienced no one helping me know what to expect as I transitioned to junior high. I remember the amount of fear I had experienced showing up the first day and after that incident, I felt no one deserved that feeling in a mandatory transition and I wanted to help those that I could from being in that
I was able to overcome many problems and challenge myself in different aspects. At the very beginning of the year, I was very sensitive and having a bad experience meant a bad life to me. Later on, I started to realize what I am doing in school, and why I am here… I understood that life without ups and downs means you're died.
My life is a mixture of moments, some happy moments and others not so much, but regardless, these moments have made me the person that I am today and I don’t regret anything that had happen. I consider myself a strong, and a very determined person, I have dreams to fill the world and I am willing to do the necessary efforts to attain those dreams. My motivations I inherit from my family, more specifically my father that I love so much; I have always
