I started playing basketball in kindergarten and I’ve never stopped playing since. This is one of the funnest sports to play. And it’s also a popular sport. Many people like this sport and many people come to like this sport after playing this and learning more about it as you get more experience in it. It can get very aggressive though and mean, but you can foul if you’re not careful. I think basketball is one of the funnest, and the best sport ever and everyone should learn it! Defense is one of the most important things in a basketball game and can win games for you. Defense is when you and your team are guarding the ball or guarding the people on the other team. How you play defense is, you don't lunge to the ball which means you
I play basketball, not only because it gives me a source of exercise, but it also allows me to be engaged in a competitive atmosphere again. To play basketball, you start knowing little and learn from your coach a lot more. It is important to learn how the game works from the different techniques of the game to the rules, goals, and communication that come with the game of basketball.

It was a sad day nothing could make me happy anymore. I had been sad from the first moment I read the paper. I kept reading the list I must have read it at least ten times. Over and over again kept seeing the same names. None of the names were mine. I had finally realized I did not make the team. I was heartbroken all I have ever wanted just slipped out of my grasp. “It’s ok you’ll make it next year”, said my friend Warren. But what he couldn’t understand was that I wanted it to happen that year. I wanted to make the basketball team that year.
Basketball is one of the most watched and played sport across the nation. The offense in basketball includes lay-ups, dunks, free throws, and jump shots. The jump shot is one of the most common shot.
I started off having absolutely no idea on how to dribble a basketball. The saying practice makes perfect really did help me to flourish in this sport and my passion for being on the court grew. My goal was set on being captain and in order to fulfill this desire I had to not only prove to my team and coaches that I was capable, I also had to prove to myself that I could handle the responsibility.
I remember the first time I played basketball when I was eleven years old. Seventh grade was an epiphany to me, I started trying different instruments, joined different clubs, and learned a bunch of other things about myself in the process. Uneducated, I didn’t know a single thing about what I was doing and ended up running around the court equivalent to a lost puppy. But as the season went on, I ended up having a few of the utmost exciting times of my life, and ended up trying out for the team again in eighth grade. Losing just about every game didn’t matter to us, us girls just kept laughing, smiling, and playing the whole time, despite the score on the board.
Dunking a basketball is the holy grail for most basketball players to achieve, but most people are unable to do so. People give hundreds of excuses as for why they are unable to achieve the task of dunking such as their height, weight, or athletic ability. The only true way to achieve this goal is through hard work and training. Today was my chance to overcome my lack of height, and finally dunk a basketball. Standing at a proud 5 feet and 11 inches tall, most wouldn’t expect me to be able to do this feat. The coach just called the end of practice and to avoid conditioning, five players were asked to dunk. To everyone’s relief, the first four players easily sailed through the air and dunked, but it wasn’t a surprise since everyone was easily
I loved basketball was because the admiration it came with basketball was a huge peer pressure moment of my life I only liked it because it made me popular and once I broke my ankle I knew who my real friends were and the only people I could count on was my teammates and my family that was the only group at the end of the day I wanted to belong to.
Ever since I was a little boy, about eight years old or so, I had an extreme passion for the sport of basketball. On weekends, I would wake up in the morning, eat a bowl of frosted flakes or cheerios, put on basketball shorts and then go in my driveway to shoot around. I would be out there for hours just shooting around or playing with some random kids that I would occasionally see walking around my neighborhood. This was satisfaction to me, but even better was playing on multiple public teams and not just playing in my driveway every day. In elementary school, I played in a recreational league, just like almost every other kid who tries out basketball when they were younger. This was fun and all but it was nothing too serious. There were never any practices, it was just one or two unorganized games per week. I never took
As a child, I would go to every sports game that you could possibly imagine, but the sport that intrigued me the most was basketball. Seeing the players doing incredible things, the fans getting hyped, the music blasting in the stands. What more can you ask for in a basketball game? I believe basketball is one of the most energetic and the best sport ever played since there are a variety of teams to choose from, there are opportunities for the spectators to get involved, and lastly, the fans don’t have to deal with the inclimate weather. Therefore go to a basketball game once in awhile.
Basketball kept me and my friends connected we watch it and play it whenever we get the opportunity.
Down two with six seconds to go fatigue had taken it tolls on the players. With little energy left; over time was not an option. I knew I had to go for the win. I walk on the floor confident of my ability that was until the whistle blew quickly turning my confident to butterflies. As I fought to get open I quickly saw the ball coming my way. As I rose for a jump shot time itself began to stay still. An in flesh everything became silent. As I watch the ball leave my hand I envisioned greatness; sure the ball was on its way in I started to celebrate that was until I hear the announcer say my teammate tip in miss shot to win us the game. Mix with emotion I celebrate with my teammate. “Ok guys, we have 24 hours until tip off. Get some rest because this is going to be the biggest game of your life. Let’s bring this championship back to Barton College. Go Bulldogs and Goodnight!” Why few players stay in the lobby to hang out I took it talk upon to work on my game and reflect on the semifinal game that just took place. At basketball games you will notice how there are all sorts of fans attending the game.
As Olivia was about to go on the court, she saw a scout for the AAU team she always been dreaming about. Her hands were shaking knees turning inwards. She was so ready than ever before even though her body didn't show it. When she got on the court she playing like there was no tomorrow. Olivia was making all her shots, making good passes, and making good plays. She was drenched in sweat. Her coach was so surprised that she let Olivia stay out on the court for the whole game. Although she was tired as can be but she she still brought her A-game out on that court. When her team won she felt proud. Olivia's coach pulled her to the side and said that the AAU team would love to find her. As her coach said the the of team she right away she knew
