Introduction Ever since you were a young child, you would dream about what you wanted to be when you grow up. For some people their dream never changes and for some people it changes constantly. I’ve thought about many jobs, but then I discover things I don’t like about that particular career. Then my teacher told me about CFNC.org, which is a site that helps you prepare for your future. I took some of the quizzes and learned many things I didn’t even know about myself. One of my goals of this paper is to take most of the surveys to learn more about myself. Another goal I have is to find a career that matches the majority of my test results and that would be a good fit for me. One last goal I have is in the course of time is to look back at …show more content…

There is not much physical activity in this job unless you decide to go on a walk with your client or do an activity that helps them. I think being able to sit and have someone help fix any of your problems will go on in the future. I think this because technology and computers can’t always solve problems, mostly because computers can’t detect your feelings like a person can. High School Plan When I go to high school, I’m planning on taking all the honors classes I’m recommended for. The classes I should focus on if I want to be a Counseling Psychologist would be English and Health Science. I would need to do exceptionally well in English because the requirements for being any type of Psychologist is high levels of reading comprehension and writing. Health Science is an important subject because that class will help me learn more about how the human brain works and ways to improve it. There are some extracurricular activities that I will want to partake in high school such as the swim team and join some clubs that I may be interested in. I may also volunteer at local nursing homes and maybe at my old elementary school. College
The counseling session should be centered on the client and their understanding of their world and/or problems not heavily weighted on the counselor interpretation of the client’s situation. The role of the counselor is to examine a problem needs changing and discover options in overcoming their problem. Bringing about change can help change the client’s narrative on their problem in the future and/or on life in the process.

They assess and treat problems ranging from normal psychological crises, such as adolescent rebellion or middle-age loss of self-esteem, to extreme conditions, such as severe depression and schizophrenia.”According to Careers in Psychology, a clinical psychologist has three main jobs, to assess the patient, diagnose disorders, and recommend a possible treatment. For so many years I’ve asked myself the question, “what are you going to do with your life?” For a period of time I struggled with this question. Today, I sit staring at my computer, confronting myself, asking my subconscious “what do I want to do for the rest of my life?” Have I finally found the answer I 've been looking for, or am I under the false assumption that this is the right path for me. This semester has been the ultimate opportunity to explore my questions, doubt, issues, and concerns. I feel that by the end of this paper I will have answered all these questions, and will have made the best decision for my future.
I was able to assist my dad while he was going through a rough time with my mom. My dad knows who psychologists are, but being able to explain the significance of psychology and encouraging him to see one made me happy. It not only helped him recover with his personal issues, but also helped him understand what my mom is going through. In addition, this topic has impacted me for future use, not only for myself, but for others I can share this knowledge with. The importance of psychology, coping with stress, or knowing what the different types of psychologists can all be applied to my career towards junior personnel, through educating them, or the application of my everyday life, and benefiting my outlook.
High School For high school, I plan to take many science and, obviously, psychology courses. Psychology classes will supply background knowledge and a basis to start my learning. These classes aid in coming to a decision about if this career truly does interest me and if I could picture myself as a psychologist. Furthermore, ending with a high average in the course will show my ability to comprehend the information and provide evidence I can succeed in college psychology classes. This would lead universities to have an interest in my education based on my past experience and expertise on the course.
I decided to pursue a career in counseling because of three factors. One factor is the connection I made with one of my high school teachers. During that time, I met my school’s Psychology teacher. Before her, I had never met anyone who studied psychology. I ended up asking her many questions about psychology and counseling.
