A career that I have been interested for a very long time is in Psychology, which is to be a Counseling Psychologist. To be a Counseling Psychologist research is needed to receive a clear understanding of this specific career. For example, it is valuable to know what are the job requirements/duties, being paid hourly or salary, and if it is required to relocate. However, it is very important for me to know does it fit my personality, the exact year of graduation, what schools will I attend, how long it would take to complete my education and how much will my education cost. These are all-important material to be familiar with and are a journey that I am ready to take and experience. A Counseling Psychologist is someone that works with patients that need intensive help and attention dealing with their mental, emotional, and behavioral problems and disorders in places such as schools, hospitals or individual practices. Their job requirements are to lead groups or individual counseling sessions and be able to talk to people and develop positive mental health and personal growth. Must least have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, which takes about 4 to 5 years to receive. However, to move forward with your education all depends on person’s career goals but for me I would like to move forward in my education. The highest being a Master’s Degree or PhD. To obtain a Master’s Degree it would take an extra 2 to 3 years while PhD is about 4 to 5 years both gives more opportunities to work in different area such in hospitals, schools, and private practices. I have always known that I wanted to directly impact people’s lives and my personal experiences have set me on the school-counseling path. In the future, I would love to influence another generation of students to soar for their dreams.
Good jobs for psychology majors are available for those who have earned a bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree. Psychology courses train individuals to work effectively with others, conduct tests and assessments and correct behavioral problems. There are opportunities for psychology majors to work in clinics, schools, early childhood centers, business, health clinics, hospitals and correctional institutions.

When I began my studies at the University of Northern Iowa, I had an interest in the field of psychology, but I was not yet sure that I wanted to pursue a career in that area. The classes that I consequently took and the professors that taught them solidified my desire to receive a degree in psychology.
A career in clinical psychology is one that will be promising for anyone seeking to pursue this career. A clinical psychologists’ educational training is a dead-ringer for success, if completed with a doctorate. A doctorate for a clinical psychologist is the best way to get ahead and have the upper hand in this field. A clinical psychologist’s salary is one that will be growing steadily along with the number of growing demands for psychologists. Anyone who chooses to pursue clinical psychology, that fits the profile for the job, will be set and secure. Clinical psychology is a bright career that I hope to someday enter into, following the pathway that my research has yielded; with that, I may begin my journey.
It is no secret that our country is seriously lacking when it comes to managing the mental health issues of its citizens. Not only are mental health services expensive and not covered by many types of insurance, but mental health care providers are not always easy to find. To this end I have developed a career goal that is not something I see coming with a specific job title or one that I can see reaching without the help of others. My career goal is to use my background in both information technology and psychology to benefit those in need and to expand mental health care services into communities that are currently lacking easy access to the services.
To practice psychology, you need to become licensed through your state's licensing board. You will need to complete 2 years of supervised professional experience. A career in psychology is one that offers a wide variety of paths in which you can pursuit it. When one decides that they want to accomplish a degree in psychology, the next step is to decide what specific path you are willing to take. In the beginning we might feel overwhelmed, unsure and scared by having all these choices, and not knowing which one to turn to, or if were even making the right choice. In the counseling world, in order to be successful and effective there are certain skills, training and most importantly education that the individual must attain in order to make a difference and properly render help to those in need. I personally believe that in this field as professionals we have to always strive to provide top-notch services to the people that seek our help and services. How can an individual accomplish such traits? There are certain things that should always be taken into account and ethical codes that should always be respected and followed.
With being a psychologist, there are many different careers to choose from within this profession (Explore Health Careers). The first type of psychologists to choose from is a clinical psychologist. Clinical psychologists help people with counseling and psychotherapy. They work with people who have all around life problems, such as new adjustments in life. Clinical psychologists also help people who have emotional disorders or mental illnesses (Psyris). People with problems that range from short-term, personal issues to severe, chronic conditions, are the people clinical psychologists mostly help (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
In order to become a Psychologist I must get a bachelors degree in sociology. I also must turn around and get my doctorate degree. This may take up to 4 to 7 years. It also depends on what field of psychology I go off into. At most 4 Years of college are needed in order to get accepted into undergraduate school to become a psychologist. This is something I must achieve to do my dream career.
Counseling is advising the needing or giving advice. When people are down or angry there are ways to deal with it, the most popular way is simply talking to someone. Also, when they are dealing with bigger problems, like countries, they encourage non-violent solutions to the issues. They don’t want there be a war or fighting so no one who is innocent get hurt. When someone or a group of people are feeling lots of emotions towards other, they say it is important to give forgiveness.
Many associate psychology with sitting in a chair in a small office as someone taking notes, asking how you feel about a certain event or feeling, or analyzing your deepest secrets and memories. However, it branches off into many other fields. A clinical psychologist’s main job is “to reduce the distress and improve the psychological wellbeing of clients” (Bond). This can include anything from depression, eating disorders, and addiction, to mental illness, family and personal relationships, and learning disabilities (Bond). A clinical psychologist usually will choose to have an emphasis in a certain field such as children and learning disabilities and work in schools or social work facilities, or mental illness and work in a hospital (Bond).
I chose to research on Customer Service Agents because they seem to be needed in most places of business and it was good to know information about them. I chose to research teachers because I plan on becoming a teacher as my career and it was good for me to find out all the important information that I was going to end up needing to know anyways.
