Personal Goals Related to Physical Fitness/ Physical Activity 1. Score a point in softball. 2. Run a mile under 8 minutes. 3. Bench 40 lbs in the weight room. Psychological Response to Physical Activity 1) Self-expression- to express one's thoughts or feeling through various artistic or physical activities a) Mental- this allows a person to express themselves and let their mind be free and can also help someone not have to hide from their true personality b) Emotional- By expressing themselves they do not have a bunch of thoughts and problems cluttering their brain. 2) Challenge- to place a higher demand physically then the usual required amount a) Mental- Allows a person to mentally grow, when they …show more content…

b) Emotional- If you enjoy the physical activity then it can be a way to blow off some steam or relax your body. 5) Determination- setting down a physical fitness goal you want to accomplish and not giving up in the process. a) Mental- Once you accomplish your goal your brain will think that with determination you can accomplish so much more. It also shows that is you have the mental capability to accomplish something then you can always do it. b) Emotional- Determination can help someone be more and feel more accomplished because if they were determined and they accomplished a difficult task it can boost their self-esteem. 6) Attitude- feeling or position on a certain physical activity a) Mental- If you have a positive attitude on the physical activity there are more chances you will enjoy doing it. First, I was able to score a point while playing softball. When we first began playing softball I was a horrible player and I could barely even hit the ball. However as we got further into the unit, I slowly improved and I was finally able to hit the ball. Another, one of my goals was to be able to bench 40 lbs. After continuous practice every time we went to the weight room I was finally able to accomplish this goal. For example, at the beginning of the year I benched two sets of seven with 20 lbs weights. I then repeated this amount for a few classes and changed the amount of weight only after I could easily lift the previous one. Although I accomplished two of my goals, I wasn’t able to accomplish the last one; running a mile in under 8 minutes. My first mile was around 9 minutes but everything after that was straight downhill. Due to having to run more than than a mile, I lost my motivation to run because of how much I would be running. As the year went on my run times were all pretty consistent and were around 10 minutes which is significantly more that i had hoped for. I hope to improve my mile time in the future by increasing my cardiovascular endurance which will allow me to run for a longer period of
