My experience with goal making has always been a rough affair. The goals were not a source of motivation or inspiration for me. Instead the goals were a one-time action and were never to be found again once written down. It is not that I did not want to succeed in my goals or get the satisfaction of completing my goals, it is simply that my goals did not fit my specific needs and were not easy to follow. It is only now that I realize my goals were far from specific and measurable, realistic and challenging, and within a timeframe. Within this framework for goals my goals can become more inspirational to me and become a part of my life rather than a passing event in my life. My first academic goal is to get an ‘A’ in Bio 110 by the end of the semester. My goal is a short term goal because within a short number of weeks it will be completed, unlike long …show more content…

For instance, Rudy’s goal was to play football at Notre Dame. He focused on it and he practiced football every day and watched every single Notre Dame football there was. He even succeeded in a part he didn’t usually succeed in. Grades. Goal setting, to me, is a bit like planning. For instance, you plan what you’re going to be doing for that day, so basically you are setting a goal for that day. It helps you organize and it helps you not waste your time and it also helps your mindset become positive because you know that you’ve got something to reach and that you’re not in the world for no reason, you have a
I have always been a straight A student, so my number one academic goal is to maintain that streak all though college. Another goal of mine is to finish my core classes early so I can have a bump free senior year. By taking Dual credit and classes throughout the summer I can reduce my workload later on in the future. A third major goal of mine is to be accepted into the Andy Dekaney National Honors Society. As an active member of the NHS I can become more outgoing and have a chance to give back to the
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
During high school my teachers lectured my classmates and I on goal making. I specifically remember my health teacher using the SMART method; this says goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. Even though I had a great resource to make smart goals for myself, I never took the time to construct a game plan. Entering the vast new world of college, I want to improve myself by keeping several goals in mind each month, week, and day. My process starts by creating intellectual, psycho-emotional, physical, and social goals to work towards in my four years of college.
There are many benefits to making goals. Before you make a goal, it is essential to realize why it is important that you are doing this. First, when forming goals, make yourself aware of your strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your strengths is empowering, however, the feeling may not be the same when facing weaknesses. Many people view weaknesses as a bad thing, but it just shows where more work and focus is needed. It is imperative that both are recognized. If they are not recognized, the plan made to achieve the goal will not be as effective because you will spend the same amount of time on the strengths and weaknesses. If you acknowledge both, less time will be needed on the strengths, and more time can be spent on the weaker areas. Making goals also gives you something to work for and a guide along with it. This guide will help form a path to achieve the goal. This will not only help with goal making, but it will be very beneficial with other things in life because it also brings responsibility. Responsibility can become rather frightening and overwhelming when forming goals, but with responsibility brings a sense of accomplishment, and after attaining the goal, a sigh of relief will overcome the anxiety. If responsibility is a weakness, then one thing that can be done to help with the workload is separating wishful thinking ...

Many issues and problems emerge in organizations that require action by leadership in order to maximize productivity. Because numerous decisions are made on any given day in an attempt for a school or organization to operate as smoothly as possible, constant effort and energy is required to monitor an organization’s culture. A problematic situation in my current organization that is rooted in employee motivation and attitudes is the lack of satisfaction communicated by group members. A year ago, the organization participated in a culture assessment that was conducted by the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA). This audit was ordered by our executive director because of the displeasure and dissatisfaction employees were communicating and displaying while at work. The

Goal setting is one of the most needed abilities in life. It is what keeps a person motivated to reach a certain checkpoint throughout their lifetime. Everyone makes goals in their life but not everyone makes plans on how they will achieve their goals. As explained before, goal-settings are not just important for educational reasons but also for disabilities, career projects, and even weight-loss goals. Being open about your goal and goal-setting through compensatory beliefs is an easier way to achieve your goal since you are not setting yourself with boundaries and strict rules. Although believing too much on compensatory beliefs can make you go off track with your goal for not limiting yourself, you should always stay focus on your goal and what you have to go through to achieve it. Reviewing your process of achieving our goal is another important step because it will help you learn what you did wrong or good and what you can do better next time for a different or similar goal. For the teensReach program, goal-setting is something that they prefer to plan instead of just doing volunteering work and hoping to one day become an advocate or advisor for adolescents. Planning out your path to achieve your goal is the best and fastest way to achieving your goal

Then when I started learning more about a personal purpose I started wondering if I have one and what it was. I never thought of myself has having a real purpose until a watched an interview Will Smith had did and he had said “When your life means something to someone other than yourself than you have a purpose.” That is when I realized that I have a purpose. Out of everything that we 've learned this quarter, goal setting was something that stood out to me. There are a few times where I set a goal in my head but end up never achieving them, wether it was something very simple or more of a long term goal. I think that in college it 's very important to set long, mid, and short term goals because somedays will be harder than others and you need
