To me it sounds like Percy does have ADHD when he is not doing something he likes. Lastly, Percy Jackson is a straight D student. One of the symptoms of ADHD is not being able to pay attention and most likely not to get bad grades. In the book Percy Jackson and the lightning thief Percy does not pay attention to anything unless he likes the subject or likes what he is doing. When he was in Chiron class, he payed attention because he liked learning at the Gods (FYI, his FATHER and UNCLES). When he went on the field trip he somewhat paid attention to everything that Chiron was stating and saying. Percy Jackson was treated horribly by his classmates because he has ADHD. Percy’s and Dunstan’s characters contrast in many ways. The most prominent way in which they contrast is their values. Dunstan values spiritual things, while Percy values only material things. Percy is impressed by and yearns for money, while Dunstan could care less about it. Dunstan explains his lack of desire for materialistic things:

Furthermore, after jumping into the river at the Gateway Arch, Percy had his meeting with the goddess. In this case, the goddess was a sea nymph who reminded Percy that Poseidon was on his side and provided help for later ordeals. In the Underworld, Percy could have saved his mother and left one of his friends, or even himself, behind, yet he chose to finish his quest and find Zeus’s lightning bolt instead. This was his temptation from the true path, proving that he is worthy of being a hero. While trying to solve this case, he reached the apotheosis of this arc; he defeated Ares in battle. In defeating a god in battle, Percy proved himself to be godlike, more so than merely being the son of Poseidon. After learning that Ares had the bolt the whole time, Percy returns it to Zeus, meeting with Poseidon and finishing the book on good terms with his father. Typically when one hears the term “ADHD” and the potential negative effects that it could have on someone striving towards academic success, they immediately think school age children. Though it is more common for children to be diagnosed and treated, 5% of U.S. adults are living with this condition (American Psychiatric Association, 2012). First ADHD must be defined before coping methods can be explained. ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is a diagnosis applied to children and adults who consistently display certain characteristic behaviors such as distractibility (poor sustained attention to tasks), impulsivity (impaired impulse control and delayed gratification), and hyperactivity (excessive activity and physical restlessness) (Jaksa, 1998). These are signs that will normally be identified by the child’s educator. Signs and/or symptoms could present themselves differently in adults and affect different aspects of their daily lives.
A number of parents observe signs of inattentiveness, restlessness, and impulsivity in their child even before their child starts school. The child might lose attention while playing a game or watching TV, or the child might dash about totally unrestrained.
