Did you know that the percent of obese children has doubled since 1980? That is why I believe that people should not eat out when they don't need to. Also people should cook food at home because that makes them realize the quality of food they are buying and they will know how it was cooked. While healthy food is more costly, people need to make better choices when buying food because people don’t understand what they are consuming, there are a lot of non-organic things put into most food that people don’t know about,and people need to realize there are ways to reduce the amounts of unhealthy food they consume.
The food I consume is decided by what my choices are. In the article The Pleasures Of Eating, “Prepare your own food” was a way the author was telling us how to eat more responsibly. This relates to me because I believe that the only time you should not cook your own food is because you are very busy. I believe it’s beneficial to cook your own food because even though it might seem more expensive at the beginning, in the long run, it’s cheaper than eating out and healthier. Wendell Berry says “quality control” to show that people that cook their own food are better at choosing quality food. …show more content…

The food I buy is determined by the price because if a store has a food item which is more expensive and the food is the same brand then I will purchase it where it is cheaper. In the article The Pleasures Of Eating, he states “Participate in the food production to the extent that you can”, he tries to show us that we could save some money and eat healthier if we grow some food. This means that planting a tree or plant which grows fruit will benefit you. My family personally does have lemon trees because we use them very often. This helps us because lemons could get expensive in the store so this saves us
