There has been one inspiring figure in my life. She has been Dr.Jean, the pediatrician who attended me to since I could ever remember. As a child patient, I always loved Dr.Jean’s company and always looked forward to her company. I remember going to the clinic and observing all the materials that were scattered around the doctor's office. I enjoyed playing with the stethoscope, and listening to the “buh boom, buh boom noise coming from the heart. The many events that I’ve encountered in life has fueled my passion for pediatricians. Volunteering at hospital has opened a wide range of opportunities to learn about the medical field. Since there is not one degree that you're supposed to get in order to become a pediatrician, I decided that studying public health is something that can help me prepare for medical school. Furthermore, attaining a political science minor I will get to understand some of the law aspect in the United States. While acquiring my degree, I intend to join organizations and look for internships to further my network while also preparing for medical school. Additionally, applying for scholarships to help ease the financial costs that will keep accruing during medical school. But more importantly, I will use the student services that are offered such as tutoring, to help with classes that I may struggle with. While at St.Catherine’s, I will study for the MCAT test at least an hour a day, every day to prepare. During my senior year, I will apply to Emory University for medical school and take the MCAT test. Emory University is ranked number 23rd for the best medical school in the United States. I’ve grown in interest in Emory University because of the location, the organizations, and job help that is offered. Medical school is intensive that requires dedication and focus. However,
