Ever since I was a young girl, Nursing has always been an area for which I have had a passion. As far back as I can remember, whenever someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my response was to be a children’s nurse and to help others. Child nursing is a very challenging and demanding course, however the rewards would make it all worth it, and I am ready to embark on this career path. I have observed the devotion and humanity of child nurses who go further than just treating young patients; they genuinely wanted to make them happy and as comfortable as possible in difficult times. I found this very inspiring, and it is the main reason why I am immensely inspired to train in this field in order to be in a position to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people who depend on us.

My course of study helped me to develop qualities such as dedication, intuitive, reassuring, practising active listening, and communication skills, and being confident when handling stressful situations. As a woman of Christ, I was born to make a difference in this world and everyone has a calling unique to them. My calling is neonatal nursing. Ever since I read my first career article about it I have been hooked, and I am continuing to pursue the dream that one day I will be able to call myself a neonatal nurse. Neonatal nurses are considerate individuals, and temporary caregivers to newborns born prematurely. No matter what they may have going on in their personal life, the babies, who most of them are in critical condition, are a neonatal nurse’s primary concern. I believe that it takes a special someone to be able to successfully handle a career as challenging as such, and without the encouragement of my amazing mom and the confidence given to me by Christ, I would not be pursuing such an emotional
My choice to become a part of the childcare profession was not just made casually. This decision was the result of a thought process about what I wanted to do with my life. I finally took a career in childcare because I believe that it is one of the most important duties performed in the community. Within this profession, I hope to find both personal and professional accomplishment. Hence, it is my desire to be a part of a noble profession.
Ever since I was a little girl, my motivation to pursue a career in the medical field was evident. While other children my age watched Cartoon Network, I found more value in shows like ‘Trauma: Life in the ER’ and ‘A Baby Story.’ It wasn’t until high school that I decided I would become a nurse, specifically. I cannot say that I had a revelation or a particular experience that swayed my decision. However, ever since I began pursuing the career of nursing, I discover each and every subsequent day that it is what I was put on this earth to do.
Like the general public, I assumed their only job was to aid doctors and perform routine medical procedures that they are trained to do. The purpose of this interview was to gain insight into how much more nurses do, and I was greatly surprised. Marks shared what it is really like to be a pediatric nurse, and all the other roles they must play in their patients’ lives. As someone who has never been admitted into a hospital, or have been in the care of a nurse, her stories were eye-opening for me. Marks gave me a new-found appreciation for all that nurses
Kids aren’t like adults, their bodies are growing and changing constantly and require specific knowledge to understand. I find it interesting learning about children’s mindsets and how their bodies are different from adults. I have always had a passion for working with kids and anytime that I have gotten an opportunity to be around kids and working with them I take it. I love being able to help kids feel better and to see them develop physically and mentally throughout time. Seeing a kids’ reaction to learning something new or feeling better is a highlight to my day which is why I chose to pursue my career in pediatrics as a pediatric nurse.

Ultimately, however, I found that the PA profession was the best avenue where I could unite this concern for others with my intellectual strengths and abilities.
