1- Introduction
Orpic is one of Oman's largest companies and is one of the rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East's oil industry. It is created from the integration of three companies which are Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company LLC (ORPC), Aromatics Oman LLC (AOL) and Oman Polypropylene (OPP) - The refineries at Sohar and Muscat, as well as our aromatics and polypropylene production plants in the Sohar complex, provide fuels, chemicals and feedstock to Oman and to the world.
Orpic is owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and by Oman Oil Company SAOC, the commercial company wholly owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman created to pursue investment opportunities in the energy sector both inside and outside Oman.
1.1 -Definition of project management:
Project management is the application of skills, knowledge, and techniques to perform projects efficiently and effectively . It is a strategic competency for organizations to enabling them to link results of project to business goals and will be better compete in their markets.

1. Define : search from search engine, conduct and explore survey and identify the needs of customer.
2. Design : required to create site or identify the needs of person and process him for his needs.
3. Develop : get the necessary stuffs and sources for development.
4. Deploy : the user satisfaction is noted after deployment for further enhancement.

Also, it has some social responsibility and it has helped other companies in Oman to provide fuels and chemicals for them. Its main objectives are safety and high performance. Besides that, the company mission is maximizing value for its customers and shareholders with commitment to safe and responsible business practice. Orpic’s vision is building an integrated Omani refineries and petrochemicals business.

Currently the headquarters are based out of Calgary, Alberta employing over 5000 people, with Exxon Mobil owning 69.6 percent of the company. Imperial Oil ltd. was previously located in Toronto and has recently moved all main facilities over to the Calgary, Alberta headquarters.1 Esso was incorporated in London, ON in 1880 and became a land mark in the development of crude oil and natural gases.1 Its retail business consists of service stations and "On the Run Express and Tiger Express-brand" convenience stores. Esso also owns a 25% portion of Syncrude, which are the world’s largest oil sands.1
Exxon Mobil is a great example of a corporate giant. It all started in 1870, when JD Rockefeller founded U.S. Standard oil a company that will go on to be the most profitable in the world. In 1911 the company split up into 34 different companies, amongst these companies was Vacuum oil company that will later be called Mobil Oil and Jersey Standard which was renamed to Exxon corporation. In 199 the two companies decided to work together again, this was the birth of Exxon Mobil.

OPEC was established in the 1960's and ever since, Saudi Arabia gained a reputation of being the major power of the organization. Saudi Arabia has the biggest oil reserves in the world and production costs lower than any country. (economist.com 2003)This means that it is a natural monopoly and economies of scale arises; when the long run average total cost falls as the quantity of output increases as illustrated in figure 1. It was hard to believe that such a desert has the largest oil reserve on the earth.
