My chosen career field is in public service. Precisely a career in firefighting. I believe firefighting is a great career choice as I enjoy the work that it involves, and there is a demand that will never stop for firefighters, as fire will always be around forever. The fire department offers a large variety of services to the public. Some of the major tasks that are performed in the fire service range from providing medical care as an Emergency Medical Technician, Entering a burning structure to search for any trapped occupants, suppressing the fire from the exterior or interior, removing a victim that is trapped inside a vehicle involved in an accident, cutting up a tree that fell over the roadway, to helping the elderly up into bed after a fall. Most of these skills requires much training and knowledge and the ability to perform in stressful situations and still remain calm enough to execute clear, and accurate decisions when it involves your life, a fellow firefighters, and even civilian lives. The conditions in which firefighters work in are always changing. One minute, you can be in the middle of a busy highway in the middle of winter at the scene of a serious injury motor vehicle accident with victims trapped and then an hour later you can be at the scene of a fire, entering a building that is structurally unsafe, burning at hundreds of degrees, wearing 70 lbs of extra gear and equipment to save the life of a trapped occupant. You never know what the call will be, when it will be, or what will happen.
A typical shift usually consists of at least one 24-hour period on duty with at least 48 hours of, than repeats again. While on duty, you will spend the entire shift at the station, while not on calls, performing tasks aro...

Dropping everything he’s doing Joe quickly runs to the fire poll and proceeds to exits the building, sirens soaring over head, and fire truck engines starting up, he rushes to slip on his gear, he feels good about himself knowing he’s a hero, he holds his helmet under his right arm, and jumps on the bright shiny red fire truck, he taps the sparkling smooth metal twice, and they pull out of the fire station, as they arrive at the house, he spots the bright red and orange fire, instantly everything slows down, and his heart speeds up, other than the thrill and overall well-being of this career. Job duties, Salaries, Requirements, Hours, and other information about this career are also something to think about.
Mental health in the fire service is an upcoming problem, but has been occurring for years without firefighters even knowing it. Specifically post-traumatic stress disorder known as PTSD and firefighter suicides are the main issues that have a large impact in the fire service. This outline will lay out the main points that are a result, impact, or other subjects in relation to the two main issues above. Firefighter deaths are rising rapidly, members of the fire service need to be educated on PTSD and suicide to provide treatment before another devastating event occurs in result of the issues effects.
...shift is the last shift of the day. It’s from 10 to 6 am or 11 to 7 am. Night crew turns and positions the patients or residents every hour or two depends on the care plan. They make four rounds at night usually one at the beginning of the shift, at twelve, two, and at five before the shift ends. Night shift cleans and sanitizes the wheelchairs, handlebars, doors, and day to day equipment used. All the shifts have the same purpose to keep the helpless safety and as clean as possible.
I chose to go into the field of Social Work. The reason being I felt that I was good at helping others. I am helpful by nature and I tend to attract those looking to be helped. I believe my career choice is appropriate for me because I do fill enjoyment when I help others. It is something that I get tired of at times but the end result always lifts my spirits. I have been in the helping field for 20 years and I can’t think of any other career that would work best for me.
The career I have chose is Physical Therapy(PT). Physical Therapist do many different things, but their main function is to help impaired or physically disabled people enhance their movement and handle their pain. Physical Therapist are a main source in the rehabilitation, medical care and prevention of people with long lasting illnesses or damage. The reason I chose this career is because I love helping people and enjoy seeing people be motivated and succeed at their task. To help someone gain full strength in their limbs or maybe even learn how to walk again is my lifelong dream. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career
I knew that I wanted to be a doctor. Not being able to help them was an horrible feeling. When people are in pain even if i do not know them, it hurts me to see that they hurting. I always knew that I wanted to help people, in some type of way. I wanted to be a doctor since I was a child, but that all changed. After I was told by family how my dad passed away, it changed what I wanted to do with my life. When I was a child, At that time I really did not know what that meant, but as I have grown up over the years I started to realize what it meant. Learning about how he died fueled my desire to become a firefighter. After I found out how he died, I vowed
Firefighting is a career that can make you feel proud and accomplished, and it is a career in which I have a lot of respect for. In order to be a firefighter you must be in shape, prepared, experienced, and ready to deal with your job emotionally as well as physically. I chose to be a firefighter because I want to be able to help others and make them feel safe to live in their communities.
It is the day that I think about the colleges and the degrees and also the jobs that I will be Appling for when get older. So it will make easy for me when its time and have it already have the plans. Its important to go to college because you need the education for yourself. I will like be attending UCCS, Alabama University, and Colorado State University. I decided to become a Firefighter when I grow up. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because I like to save peoples life. My degree is Paramedic as a firefighter Helping people in need. I might play football in High School to see if I could get a scholar ship or apply for a grant, For college. The reason I decided to be a paramedic was because half of my family are doctors, and
In my history class we did a project called dream-a-dream. In this project we had to type a couple of paragraphs about what we wanted to be in the future and we had to find pictures in magazines . I chose a firefighter or a professional baseball player. I chose firefighter because I get to save people from fires and maybe their house too, also I heard that firefighters get paid a lot. I chose to be a baseball player because I have been playing this sport for nine years and I am actually really good at the sport. My favorite position to play is pitcher because all of the attention is on me. The teacher told us to type about what you wanted to be in the future, find some pictures on what you want to be, and have it done with in 2 weeks. The expectation was to have it done neatly and when he said it was due. This assignment relates to an alien project I did in science. It relates only because it was a project. The point of this assignment was to know what you want to be in the future. For an A on the assignment you had to finish it on time, and do it neatly.
My plan in life is to become a Police Officer. Not only would that give me the opportunity to help other people but becoming a Police Officer also gives me the opportunity to follow in my Uncles footsteps and do something that I have wanted to do my whole life. I have always wanted to make a difference in the world, and this gives me the chance. Performing justice the right way and making sure that the laws of the government are obeyed is the job that I want to pursue. Being a Police Officer is a challenging job but also very rewarding. There would be a number of skills I would need to learn, not to mention that every day on the job would be a learning experience itself. Every single day that I would go to work, I would potentially be saving someone’s life. Stopping a speeder, arresting a criminal, preventing harmful attempts, they are things that would save someone’s life. Even if my actions were not as simple as that, for example, if I were to witness an accident or arrive onto the scene of one, just being there gives me the opportunity to take preventative measures. When I become a Police Officer, it woul...

Coming to the point of my current career choice has been a long road. My idea of what a career is or should be has changed with circumstances and age. According to Weintraub (2005), “the average worker spends only four years in a job and will have 12 jobs in as many as five career fields during his or her working life.” (para. 1) My first career was marriage and motherhood followed by a surprising healthcare career. What the future holds waits to be seen. With a bachelor of science degree in information technology the options are wide open.
