A servant heart implies that one is encouraged to treat each other with respect by showing concern for the customer. Lastly, a fun-loving attitude suggests that employees should have fun at work. My grandfather was a successful business man in the 1930’s through 1980’s. He was a firm believer that you are only as good as your word. He did business with a hand shake and a smile. (Philips, Gully 2014) Work values, in turn, are a particular case of the value concept, which implies the expectations and the desires of a person concerning his or her work situation and work activities. Since work values and attitudes influence the job performance and job satisfaction of the employees, acknowledging and understanding what people seek from work is highly beneficial for both workers and employers.
Within all of us, we possess a set of core values. Core values typically associate themselves with a person’s life experiences. Core values are not only the foundation we use to identify ourselves, but also how we perform as a leader. My leadership philosophy provides my peers the opportunity to understand who I am and the behavior I exhibit. My philosophy is not only based on the mission and improving the organization but inherently on the values of integrity, trust and respect. I will discuss my leadership philosophy in the paragraphs below.
