This proposal is to identify opportunities for operational improvements within the hospital. These areas would include the operations of the staff and the financial aspects of the business. Considering that I am new COO at the facility, I will utilize my conceptual skills to identify best practices within the organization.
First, I would like to address the problems within the organization. I like to begin with how simple mistakes in operations could lead to financial impacts within the businesses. From my perspective, there are several problems within the organization that are in need of restructuring. For example, departments not working as whole, which leads to discrepancies and repetitive work, resulting in loss of revenue. The following

This will give me an opportunity to identify individual personalities to determine the best fit to accomplish specific tasks. With this data, I will be able to restructure roles within job descriptions and create stand operation procedures, so there is a better flow of assigned tasks.
Third, I would like to incorporate team building exercises within each department. This will allow management and staff to identify strengths and weaknesses within themselves. Essentially, permitting management to grow and expand their visionary skills. This approach would lead to a better coordination of individual talents. The team building exercises would include an innovative approach to team work, allowing individual departments to accomplish company goals as a unit.
Finally, I would like to set attainable goals within each department. This would include new ideas as previous goals are accomplished. The subset goals will be developed from the company vision and goals. This would include bi-weekly staff meetings with each department to determine best practices and to acknowledge those who excelled during the process. The topics of discussions would also include the impact and financial progress of the operations. This would allow staff members to envision how positive decisions could help sustain the company as a
Senior Management will be informed of the vision and objectives form the corporate Management team on what the organisation wishes to achieve in the following year, from this the Senior Management will set department objectives and outcomes that wish to achieved, this then will be liaised down to the Assistant Department Management who will then delegate the objectives to each team leader in the department, there will be different objectives for each team, the objectives will then be distributed between the team depending on skills set. SGH has been plagued with patient quality issues, therefore SGH finds itself in a situation which is inherently antithetical to the mission of the hospital. The costs of healthcare continue to rise at an alarming rate, and hospital boards are experiencing increased scrutiny in their ability, and role, in ensuring patient quality (Millar, Freeman, & Mannion, 2015). Many internal actors are involved in patient quality, from the physicians, nurses, pharmacists and IT administrators, creating a complex internal system. When IT projects, such as the CPOE initiative fail, the project team members, and the organization as a whole, may experience negative emotions that impede the ability to learn from the experience (Shepherd, Patzelt, & Wolfe, 2011). The SGH executive management team must refocus the organization on the primary goal of patient
Due to WellStar being a multi facility health system, its organizational design is constantly being reviewed for simpler and more efficient processes. WellStar’s two smallest hospitals, WellStar Paulding and WellStar Douglas, previously under went reconstruction with regards to their hierarchical structure in Patient Access Services (PAS). WellStar Paulding, the smallest facility of the five hospitals, renovated their managerial chain of command in PAS. WellStar Paulding’s patient volume is less than half in comparison to the 4 additional hospitals. As a result, their staff is smaller and only requires minimal supervision. In the past WellStar Administrators requested supervisors for every department, a manager of the entire department, and a director that managed PAS’ management directly and PAS staff indirectly. Recent cuts ...
...he operating margin, cash on hand, and days in accounts receivable as these have been major factors. The new system being put in place for the materials management system should be closely monitored, as it will determine the adaptability of the department. The reformation of the Governing Board can be justified through the successes or failures it creates while going through the restructuring process. It will be important to get feedback from employees and the CEO to see if conflicts arise. The new physical therapy center will continue to be monitored to see if revenues are as high as thought with the expansion of this facility. Overall, it will continue to be a process of monitoring, reevaluating, and gathering appropriate data to determine if the strategic plan being implemented is continuously seeking the values, mission, and vision of the Coastal Medical Center.
They need to bring together all the middle to upper level managers who have knowledge on cost cutting and technology implementation and are distributed through several regions over the country and train them to improve their skills. The organization needs its upper level managers to be trained on interaction skills, they need to improve skills how to interact with other hospitals to impact the market strategies. Presidents of the hospitals need to be trained on KSA and implementing the new strategies. Presidents and managers at every level need to be trained in the implementation of the HRPS.

...mplications that allow for opportunities of change. One of the presumptions is for training and staffing (Shi & Singh, 2012). With the utilization of health care improvements, the staff will need additional instructions on the performance of equipment and how to efficiently achieve the desired results. Managers or supervisors recognize the need for supplemental staffing and training to optimize patient satisfaction and quality of care. The health care administrator must also focus on changes in insurance policies and rules governing the provision of medical assistance (Shi & Singh, 2012).
Envisioning goals: Focus on the right direction to help the group manage the organization in both long term and short term goals.
The exploration of two models will show an interesting relationship when compared and contrasted. Both can increase competency levels in team building. The models are the Drexler/Sibbet Team Performance model (Human Performance Strategies) and the Four Stage Team Performance model (Developing Management Skills). When they have been used correctly they’ve been shown to improve efficiency and profitability in organizations. “Developing team skills is important because of the tremendous explosion in the use of teams in work organizations over the last decade (Developing Management Skills).” An examination of these models will show the similarities and differences they have in the context of team building.
I will have to ensure that the needs of each employee are factored in when developing the entire plan to reorganize the department.
I will need to be careful and make sure the goals are realistic and achievable and that my tactics are transparent. Specifically, I am going to run through the book Personality Plus for Work, with the PKX employees so that we all understand our personalities better and in turn provide good feedback to our coworkers and our customers. Additionally, I am going to receive input from the PKX employees and create a vision and specific goals for the remainder of this year and next for the PKX
The topics of health and safety are a hospital’s main concern when it comes to treating their patients. A hospital’s main goal is the patient; without patients, there would be no one for physicians to treat, therefore making it hard for hospitals to be run. Health care managers and leaders provide aid to patients by listening and understanding their patient’s needs as well as concerns. These issues are addressed within healthcare facilities in order to improve their system which can include making changes within the hospital in order to fulfill the patients’ needs to create a better environment overall. This is a patient centered operation with innovation being a key target.

Name everything from who is involved to what, where, when and why you want to accomplish the goal. Your goal must be clear and well defined. Generalized goals are unhelpful because they don’t provide sufficient direction. Remember, you need the goals to show you the way.
