Most people can be different. Have you ever wanted to become someone completely different? Was there a time you wanted to meet someone who was like you? Well I have also wanted to meet someone who was like me and have the same perspective as me. In the book, On The Runway: Catwalk, two sisters Erin and Paige Forrester, are starring on their own tv show which is called “On The Runway.” Erin and Paige go to New York to film their tv show for Fashion Week, but during Fashion Week, they interview fashion designers who are showcasing some of their designs in the fashion show. Erin tries to find eco-friendly designers but it doesn’t work out that well. While trying to like fashion, she finds it hard to while trying to pursue her dream of doing photography. Thus, while doing this to protect her sister who has new profound fame. Erin Forrester, the protagonist of On The Runway: Catwalk by Melody Carlson and I are alike in many ways. We both share the same view of the …show more content…
world, are viewed by the world in similar ways and I would respond in a comparable way to the central conflict of the novel. Therefore, I believe given the chance, we could be friends. The protagonist views the world as being a challenging place and that most people don’t have the answers to why they can’t explain their faults”As for me, I’m not even sure what my dream is anymore”(18). The reason I used this quote is trying to decide what your dream is after you lost sight of it is challenging. Which means her seeing the world as being challenging to know what you want in life. Also, this shows you can’t explain why are the reasons you don’t know what your dream is anymore. Erin believes God can help anybody find their way and have a certain path he wants them to be on. The protagonist views the world as it is surrounding around God. She believes if you not in your right path God can help you find it. For example, she says “Maybe God doesn’t want you to be the star,” I suggest. “Maybe he has a different, better kind of plan for your life” (168). Erin views the world as being revolved around God and that you should forgive others even if you don’t want to but because it’s the right thing to do. “To do that, I’ll need God’s help” (184). For instance, “Forgiving others is like eating or sleeping; you have to do it on a regular, daily basis or risk getting sick” (38). Which means forgiving others is something that you are supposed to do on a regular day or you can risk yourself being a totally different person. Thus, I also myself view the world in similar ways but have some differences in how I view the world as well. Erin and I view the world in similar ways but also view the world in different ways as well. I view the world as bad events can turn to a good opportunity in life. For instance, my mom had surgery and afterwards found out she had blood clots. Once she found this out she had to take this medicine. After taking this medicine she eventually got off and got a good opportunity to get a job where she is now happy. Thus, life has unexpected turns of events to lead you into doing things you never imagined that would happen in your life. For example, when I was little I always liked hair but I never thought I would like nor want to do hair when I got older. Now that I’m older, I plan to do cosmology and go to hair school after I graduate. I also believe everyone has good in them or pure intentions. By saying people have good intentions means even though some people make mistakes and do things wrong, their reasons behind doing that may be good intentions. To add, someone who is your friend can try to talk to you about your doing wrong knowing you are having problems. This can be to help you even though you may not want to hear what they have to say but your friend intentions can be good. Also, others can view you as a different person from how you may view yourself or how you think others see you. The way you view yourself and the way others view you are completely different. Erin’s family and friends view her at their own individual perspective. Some people see Erin as being protective of anybody she loves. Erin is a generous person, who cares about others and what they mean to her.” I know Christians aren’t perfect, but it seems like we should be kinder to each other, and that we shouldn’t be too easily offended” (21). This quote means Erin knows Christians aren’t perfect but she shows how much she cares how her and her best friend Mollie are treating each other. It explains she just wants them to be kinder to each other but not offended when a certain subject comes up. The quotes shows how she is caring. Meanwhile, others think that she is judgmental and thinks everything is about her. For example, Erin goes to check on her friend Mollie to see why she has been acting a certain way towards her. Mollie says, “Why do you assume everything is about you?” (185). Mollie sees Erin as always thinking everything revolves around her and that things are always about her. In other words, others views Erin as being a protective and can help anyone see the era of their ways. “The star is like a kite--- she needs to fly high and free, but she also needs someone on the ground holding onto the string.” “You’re a good kite flyer, Erin.” (191) This metaphor is how Erin’s friend Helen views her which means Erin tends to protect others who depends on her to show them the way. Others view Erin in a honest perspective for who she is otherwise people also see me from a perspective. The way others view you or the world views you is a reflect of who you are as person. The world views me as being a intelligent person who’s quiet but speaks my voice around people who know me. By being a intelligent person this means I’m someone who is very smart and have a lot of knowledge but sometimes I feel as I don’t apply myself. Most people may view me as being quiet for not saying a word while I’m in school. In other words if I’m around people that I know and are comfortable around I will express myself and not be that quiet person that I am. The world also views me as following my dreams when it comes to my future. For instance, my mom referred to me as telling me to follow my dreams not to listen to what people say. She tells me I am doing what I love and to continue applying for “Paul Mitchell” which is a hair school. Others also see as a person who is overprotective and striving to do the best I can. For instance, My friend who’s like a sister to me says I tend to be protective when it comes to her and my god child Brianna. Besides knowing how the world views you and the way that reflects your character as a human being. The way you present yourself can also deal with how you deal with certain situations. A person can show the way they present theirself but it also determine what type of person they are and how they deal with certain situations. In the book On The Runway: Catwalk there are a lot of different conflicts. The protagonist Erin deals with the most hard conflict which deals with trying to manage her own life while being on the show which she doesn’t love doing. “I sort of just hang out with my camera and pretend to be interested in fashion” (126). Which means Erin just pretends to be into fashion because it’s what her sister likes and she is only doing it for her sister. “I’m doing that for my sister’s sake.Anyway, mostly I signed on to be the camera girl” (144). This quotes means she’s only doing the show for her sister and she only wanted to do it to be the camera girl due to her passion of photography. Erin responses to the conflict by staying by her sister doing what her sister loves instead of following her dreams. On the other hand, I would of responded to the conflict in a different way. Others can react to conflicts in a totally different way than the person who conflict it is.
When you are on the other side of the fence you see things from a different side or perspective. If I was in Erin’s shoes I would of reacted to the conflict very differently. I believe it’s good to be by your family side if they need you and anybody should support their loves me. Otherwise, if it was me in Erin shoes I would want to support my sister but I would also want to follow my dreams. Also, by doing what I love instead of pretending to love something I don’t just because I want to be there for my sister. While doing what I love, I would also let my sister know I love her and want her to follow her dreams but also need to follow my dreams as well. It’s good to be there for others but you also have to branch off from others and to be your own individual. In her shoes, I would of did everything differently. To conclude, doing things for others isn’t bad but you also have to do what’s best for you as a
person. The protagonist Erin and I are very similar and different in some ways. We both see things in the same perspective but also different. Erin and I view the world in a similar way. Which means our view of the world is the same, also believing anything is possible. In other words, the way Erin and I carry ourselves is different. Thus, by saying this I mean we have different dreams and likes. Erin dream is to get into photography while my dreams are to be a hair stylist and to get into fashion. Erin doesn’t care about her appearance but I do but there are another similarity we have. Both of us value our friends and family. I believe Erin and I could be friends if I ever met her because she is a down to earth person. She doesn’t have trouble telling someone how she feels and this is the type of person I am. Erin would be a great friend to have and she would be there for anybody who’s close to her which I like that about her. Sometimes it’s nice to meet new people who are alike you and have a connection with. To conclude, meeting someone who reminds you of yourself can be a life changing moment for you.
So, over all, this helps you get a better understanding that ethical dilemmas happen for all people, in all walks of life, in many different situations. It shows us we must pay attention to our actions and the actions of others around us. As long as we follow the rules, and ask for a little direction when we don’t know what to do, we will all be better off in our careers as helpers.
Family or people that are close like family, are usually the main reason for a person to make a tough decision or a sacrifice. When I was 10 years old, I remember my sister and I breaking our dad’s favorite camera. I told her to throw me the camera from across the room and I was going to catch it. She warned me that I wasn’t going to catch it, but I had way too many confidences that I would. My sister threw it, but I
Seid’s use of historical evidence effectively proves that women aspire to be like the models and actresses. She gives descriptions and facts that make the models and actresses stand apart from most American women.
For instance, if the student really wanted to be successful they would not put too much attention to the family issue and focus on the assignment or project. The family issue later on can be resolved but the assignment cannot be completed anymore after the deadline date. For example, if you’re going through a time that someone is in the hospital, what can you really do for that person, give them their life back. I don’t think so, you could probably just go visit them and give them your support but that's about it. Therefore, in reality it is up to the student to make the choice to be academically thinking about their career and leave all the family issues
Despite her parents’ wishes, Grace Kelly pursued her chimera on joining the honoree’s on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after highshool. Members of a family motivate each other when one’s feeling down. In “Farewell to Manzanar” Mama says, “Woody, we can’t live like this; Animals live like this.” Woody says, “We’ll make it better, Mama. You watch” (ch.3 pg.20). Woody tries to comfort her, by motivating and convincing her that they will overcome their struggling life at Manzanar. At times, when you notice someone feeling despondent, you usually ask them how they feel and generally try to comfort them. Thus, families support each other through hardships.
She even says she had a duty to her family and humanity (pg. 29). If both of your brothers die and it is just you and your sister, you would want to keep your sister and you together. That is exactly what she is trying to do in this play. All she wanted to do is keep her family together, her whole family is falling apart and she is just trying to save it.
Within society’s dominant white supremacist, capitalist, hetero-patriarchal lens, behaving badly can be used as a model for creating change. By directly challenging norms, one is also empowered by centering themselves in whatever action or space is taken. Divadom is drawn around the ability to control, whether it be the narrative presented or the audience, and as a person, the diva uses the body as a platform to perform. “Gender Performance: From the Freak Show to Modern Drag” by Olivia Germann and Chapter seven “Divas Pop and Pomo” of The Diva’s Mouth: Body, Voice, and Prima Donna Politics, both delve into the power of performance for the collective and individual, while simultaneously addressing the constraints imposed by the audience, whether

To serve as a role model, basis for abilities comparison, and deeper understanding on how to support me. My older sister is sometimes the first person I go to when it comes to family matters or most matters in life (other than family). She has always been a positive model as we share similar thoughts when it comes to general things in life, as well a more unique aspect such as careers. I have a strong interest in the field of science, specifically physiotherapy. She successfully graduated McMaster University with a bachelor in science degree, and is now doing further studies to become a physiotherapist. She was the main reason that I attended The University of Waterloo for Kinesiology. I had similar interests in sports and science, in which she recommended kinesiology. Now, I am on headed in a same direction to becoming a physiotherapist. This ties in to the basis for comparison, in which I can proudly compare myself to my sister and have a friendly competition on our common goals of becoming a physiotherapist. Having the same family and same upbringing, my sister has a deeper understanding on who I am, and would give me better advice than most people in my life. We share the same family values, and understand the conditions that we were brought up in that no one else will be able

You know one thing I never got to do when was in my human form was travel and sight see God’s creation called earth. Now I am constantly traveling and who would have ever thought that when it was time for my granddaughter, Melissa to choose her frames that she would choose me. I was a pair of brown frames with medium square eyes and on my arms it said Prada. I remember when she came into Lens Crafters
In this world, there is right and wrong. As children, we were always taught to do what is right. However, as we grow older, our eyes perceive life as it is, not the fairytale we grew up to believe. And sometimes when this happens, we have to do what is wrong in order to help ourselves and loved ones. And for months now, I have had the pressing decision weighing down on me: Will I continue using the boy looked up to by so many, if it means saving my family, or will I do right by him and tell him the truth, no matter how badly he gets hurt?
Anybody that knows me knows that my passion and goals in life have to deal with fashion. If I could be anything in this world I would love to be a designer of some sort or at least be in the industry. When it comes to clothing and style it just comes easy one of the easiest things I’m good at. Fashion is an art form it allows you to express your view on style anyway you choose. And to me I feel like nobody has the right to judge that. Style hasn’t always come easy to be though just like everything else it takes time and practice it’s still a work in progress. When I look back to my middle school and early high school years I wonder deeply about my choices, middle school had to have been the worst. I was going through a colored jeans faze, I would wear bright yellow, honey mustard yellow, sky blue, purple, and pink. If somebody were to name a color I probably had jeans that color. It gets worse though because I would have the worst possible combination choice of shoes to go along with a matching bead necklace and bracelet set, followed by a grey or navy blue uniform shirt. It’s clear I had no idea what I was doing the best part is I was being myself and that’s all that matters. No matter how much I think my style has grown I’m only human and will look back and probably wonder why I wore the outfit I’m wearing sitting here writing this essay.
