Np Goal Statement

Goal Statement:
To secure as position as an Adult/Gerontology Acute/Critical Care NP in which my advanced education, training, and skills may be effectively utilized towards enhancing patient outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration and continuing education to remain knowledgeable of research findings and practice recommendations in order to establish and execute the most appropriate evidence for practice as well as evaluate outcomes to create guidelines and improve clinical practice.

Goals:
To pass the licensing examination becoming an Adult/Gerontology Acute/Critical Care NP
To secure a position as a NP within an acute-care hospital, ideally in critical-care
To utilize advanced education and training to provide safe, effective,

quality care to patients, delivered with compassion and cultural considerations within the APN scope of practice.
To become an active member of the facility’s research council or policy committee
To embrace continuing education focused on research including practice and process guidelines
To utilize strong leadership to generate interdisciplinary collaboration to support and sustain the translation of the best evidence for practice
To become a champion of quality improvement within the institution, researching and implementing the best evidence for practice to improve patient outcomes and enhance the work environment as well as evaluating findings and disseminating results
To become a more active member of the AACN through submitting quality improvement projects for publishing as well as attending their annual National Conference, Advanced Practice Institute.
To publish or present quality improvement findings to positively impact nursing practice or patient outcomes on a larger scale
