Online learning can feel isolating. Thus, acquiring inner motivation and time management approach to continue despite the challenges is critical. Having a precise and focused strategy is critically vital to the success of one’s education, and without a well thought out plan, yours might stall or even fail.
Why do I practice time management skills? I believe it is imperative that I cultivate effective strategies for time management that will help in balancing the conflicting demands of time for career, education, and leisure. Time management skills are valuable online learning, nonetheless also in countless other aspects of life, from studying for examinations to work.

In my opinion, necessary skills compulsory for effective time management are setting goals, avoiding procrastination and prioritizing.
Setting goals, I often set a precise and defined goal, making sure that these goals are realistic and achievable.
Firstly, I examined my current situation and reviewed what goals are important to me, and the action I need to take to attain my plan. For instance, I work Monday- Thursday, and I am off every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I know now that for me to become a successful online learner, I have to read and complete my “ initial post” discussions in both of my classes in those three days I am off. Whereas on the day I do work, I write and post my “response.” I have also cultivated a contingency plan or substitute routes to my goal if for some reason I need to change your plans.
Avoiding procrastination, According to Quotes Benjamin Franklin “Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.” (2014). Personally, I believe that best time to do something is now. It is my opinion that waiting until the last minute to attain a result never reveals the best

Next, I focus on more important tasks. If I study hard yet not being organized, resulting in missing assignment due dates, I am not effective this defeats the purpose of becoming a successful online learner.
As stated earlier, online learning can feel isolating. Therefore, possessing the inner motivation to endure despite the challenges is critical. I might possess all the skills and strategy in the world to become a successful online learner. However, if I don't possess an atom of motivation, nothing will be achieved. Thus, in concluding, I always reflect on my motivations for being in school. I also ponder about my life issues personally, professionally and scholastically. And embrace an approach of curiosity. I keep my eyes on the goal.
Its very important to log onto your computer course(s) everyday, this is one tip that I absolutely follow because I never want to get behind or miss something I should have already had done.
Online courses require self-motivation and discipline in order to be successful. The true benefits of online courses are that you have the flexibility to work them in your life schedule and can take them at your own pace within reason. Therefore from my personal experience I highly support online learning over brick and mortar traditional learning. When I started taking online classes it was because I could not fit a fulltime class load into my fulltime working schedule. It is the convenience of online cl...
Online education, while offering clear advantages such as supporting a self-paced learning experience by allowing learning on an on-demand basis rather than a strict class schedule, also has significant drawbacks. Students in an online only course may struggle with structure and content without hands-on instruction, which can help motivate students who otherwise may be distracted or have difficulty working independently. The traditional structure of classroom education is effective, but also comes with a set of obstacles, particularly for nontraditional students. The best way to bridge this gap is hybrid education, which combines technology and personal interaction to support efficiency and self-paced learning while keeping students motivated, social, and connected to their professors and their peers through face to face interactions. While this newer learning model is still under investigation, there is evidence to prove that hybrid courses can lead to academic success.
There are many different parts to time management, such as procrastination, strategy, organization, expectations and being prepared. All of them contribute equally in many ways. All of the things that we have spoken about in this paper are highly recommended. The best thing to do when it comes to time management is to set a strategy, become organized and do your best to avoid procrastination. When you manage your time make sure you include the following; studying, sleeping, eating, relaxing and other necessary things. No matter what our circumstances are, we can all use some time management skills in our lives.
While certain aspects of learning in an online environment and learning face-to-face are similar, they also are remarkably different. I am more familiar with a face-to-face learning environment in which I physically attend class. Despite this, an online learning environment is something I am acclimating to. At times I miss the traditional approach, but also am beginning to enjoy the regimented flexibility it affords.
It’s a necessity for a student in any collegiate institute to gain their desired degree. When being a student of an online institution, it requires students to have a different level of self-discipline then a student of traditional learning. With online education, the student is delivered material from the instructor, and then must take the initiative to learn and understand the material on their own. They are basically independently learning and not getting any direct help from their peers or professor. This can be challenging for a student who lacks motivation or concept to learn independently. With a lack of motivation, many students fall behind in their work, often becoming discouraged and eventually ponders the possibility to dropping out. Many students work better in an environment that requires them to go to class. Traditional learning calls for a student to be prepared before class. When they arrive to class the information is reiterated for better understanding and possibly for class discussion purposes. After which, students are given post-assignments for further training on the content. This creates a physical routine for the student to follow and also create the feeling of accountability. Most students need structure in order to be a successful student because it gives students the necessary support to complete assignments and tasks on a daily
Without a proper balance between work and school, priority skews away from class time. In order to complete assignments, one has to balance their time within the class with personal time. Equally, the balance of homework with daily responsibilities ensures success. Moreover, the student’s outside studies provide for deeper meaning and clarification of material provided in class. On the other hand, online classes provide students with flexibility without minimizing the material provided.
A study plan is critical to online learning. Here are some tips to help you build it: • Plan ahead. Never wait until the day before an assignment due date to start working on it. It will stress you and stress will prevent you from effectively completing the online task. Furthermore, knowing when all of your assignments are due until the end of the eLearning course will facilitate your time management; for instance, if you are going on vacation in the middle of the eLearning course, you can study ahead.
Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take classes online. Bill Gates recently predicted that in five years most colleges will be providing online education. “The self-motivated learner will be on the Web,” Mr. Gates said, speaking at the Techonomy conference in Lake Tahoe. “College needs to be less place-based.”(Steve) Online courses allow students to access course content, including reading lists and library materials, at any time. This flexibility of online courses is primarily important for students who have young children, who are caring for ailing or elderly family members, who have full-time jobs, or who live too far from campus. Flexible hours are also beneficial because it allow students to work at their own speed; taking courses either part time or on an accelerated schedule. According to the article in the New York Times, titled “Study Finds That Online Education Beats Classroom,” the SRI International for the Department of Education, conducted a research on online versus traditional classroom teaching from 1996 to 2008. Most of the studies were conducted in co...
(Claessens, Brigitte J.C.2004). adds that time “cannot be managed, because time is an invariable factor. Only the way a person deals with time can be”. Nevertheless, time management has become increasingly essential to businesses and organizations. This is especially true over the last two decades, as a result of expanding global competition and increased demands for the immediate availability of products and services. Given the increased pace of everyday life, people increasingly need to be more organized. Efficient time management practices support business students in acquiring key skills that will assist them both in their educatio...
Many students take online classes because of their busy schedules. What most students don’t realize is that it takes the same amount of effort or more to maintain a good grade in the course. Studying is still mandatory. To be successful with online courses students have to be self-motivated. Time management is more tedious than that of classroom
When you control your time, and work more efficiently, you're able to learn more and increase your experience faster. Time management should also include more than teaching, scholarship, and service. Effective time management also means reserving time for recovery, and time for financial factors, time for family, and time for friends. Having a goal-oriented strategy that makes an effective use of your time will bring you success no matter how you look at it. There isn’t anything we can do about time itself. We can change how we deal with events

The author supposes the design of teaching methods and learning activities would prove vital in online students’ success. The author further states online learning (E-learning) aids in self-regulated learning (SRL), and is thought to be a way to assist learners individually. Self-regulated learning is defined by the author as “the efforts put forth by students to control and monitor their motivation, concentration, and affective aspect to protect their goals.” Studies show that teachers’ feedback plays a critical role in students’ controlling their learning and becoming self-regulated learning.
