Technology is slowly being integrated into every area of our lives. From how we communicate to one another to how we shop, technology is now the center. Wherever one may go or may see, a new advancement of technology has been made. Technological workers are often heard saying that the changes that are being made are to benefit its consumers; to ultimately make their lives easier and more efficient. These advancements have now been introduced into education. Schools all over the world are now including a new e-learning opportunity for students seeking college degrees. This means that a student is taught through physically interaction with a teacher and other classmates. Many learn from the ideas and mistakes of others. When physically attending a class a student is given immediate feedback from peers and the professor that will better a student’s approach, understanding and work. This overall creates a key element of the learning process that will completely benefit the student in the long run. It is important that a relationship is made between a student and a fellow student as well as, between a student and the teachers. Face to face learning fosters these relationships. Information that a teacher presents will overall be given in a way that is memorable to the student rather than the student studying the text for them self. Face to face communication allows for a complete experience in not just learning information from hearing, but also being felt and seen. Distant or modern learning doesn’t allow for this aspect of education. It’s a necessity for a student in any collegiate institute to gain their desired degree. When being a student of an online institution, it requires students to have a different level of self-discipline then a student of traditional learning. With online education, the student is delivered material from the instructor, and then must take the initiative to learn and understand the material on their own. They are basically independently learning and not getting any direct help from their peers or professor. This can be challenging for a student who lacks motivation or concept to learn independently. With a lack of motivation, many students fall behind in their work, often becoming discouraged and eventually ponders the possibility to dropping out. Many students work better in an environment that requires them to go to class. Traditional learning calls for a student to be prepared before class. When they arrive to class the information is reiterated for better understanding and possibly for class discussion purposes. After which, students are given post-assignments for further training on the content. This creates a physical routine for the student to follow and also create the feeling of accountability. Most students need structure in order to be a successful student because it gives students the necessary support to complete assignments and tasks on a daily
