The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a personality report that gives you a better understanding of how to react in different situations based on five personality dimensions. Knowing your personality characteristics will help you better understand your actions, feelings, and relationships with others. My type was ISFJ introverting, sensing, feeling and judging. This suggests that focus my energy inward toward thoughts and ideas, process information in an exact, detailed and literal manner, I make value-based decisions based on empathy and compassion and I approach life in a planned, organized and orderly approach (Golden, 2011). An ISFJ is described as hardworking, thorough and responsible which leads me to believe that I have chosen the right goals and career for my future. The results listed some likely strengths of an ISFJ as well as some areas to improve with growth opportunities. Some noted above in the chart were strengths I found to be true and come natural or needed for my vision. Growth opportunities that I agreed with were learning to share ideas and accomplishments more often, developing a greater assertiveness and comfort in taking the lead and learn to deal directly with conflict and anxiety. “The Clifton Strengths Finder measures the presence of talents in 34 general areas referred to as "themes." Talents are ways in which we naturally think, feel, and behave as unique individuals and they serve as the foundation of strengths development” (Rath, 2007). The results from strengths finder showed that my top five strengths were relator, empathy, intellection, consistency and focus. As a relator, close relationships with friends is important. Empathy being a top strength stands out the most to me. I am always giving second chances and looking out for people, sometimes that gets me hurt, but I try to see the good in people. I am also pretty good at sensing how someone is feeling. Intellection meaning, I need time alone to reflect. Consistency is another strength I definitely agree with. For example, setting times from start to finish to complete tasks, repeated, patterned behaviors to be more productive and I do enjoy having more control over how I do things. The last strength focus shows I put forth more effort when I am set to work or study independently. I like to prioritize then act and am setting goals for the week constantly. The reports provided ideas for action which really makes me feel fulfilled in what I am aiming to do but not so much with where I am at in my current role. These results help show where I stand now in my reactions with obstacles faced and the accomplishments made thus far. The Emotional Intelligence test regards the emotions, especially in the ability to monitor one's own or others' emotions. Providing you with strategies to increase your self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management (Talent Smart, 2005). These results show that I fall in the with a little improvement, this could be a strength category.
Personal competence and self awareness were the highest for me in comparison to the other scores. My self awareness is above average. With the career I intend to hold in the future as a healthcare administrator facing many conflicted situations, I will need to make sure I am managing my reactions to situations and people correctly. My overall score for social competence was a surprise to me in one category of social awareness. I was on 1 point off from being in the category of this is something that needs work. I honestly do not agree with the score. I have always been known to have a good sense of how others are feeling. I can tell that something is eating at someone or their mood is off. I am curious to know if only one or many questions I answered on this assessment put me in this category. Relationship management is a huge area of work for me. When it comes to handling conflict, emotions get the best of me in certain situations. This being the second to lowest on the chart is just realization. Working to build and strengthen these skills will help with my future career which will involve working with groups of people as a leader in the healthcare
field. Although, we did not take an assessment on either of these skills we did throughout MBA 510 course write a multitude of essays and analysis papers. One article, was also turned into a PowerPoint in which we had to present. Receiving constructive criticism on each allowed me to improve my writing and presentation skills for further projects. As a future healthcare leader these two skills are ones that need to be mastered. They will often be used in that field for communication purposes with all stakeholders. I find these skills to be two of my greater weaknesses.
Having completed the Myers-Briggs Personality Test previously, I was identified as an INTP, which stands for introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving. Accordingly, this personality is often labeled as “The Architect” or “The Logician.” Despite my previous results, I repeated the test as instructed in the assignment. This project paper comes from the results of taking the Myers-Briggs Personality Test that I recently have taken. The test itself puts forth questions of how one would react or respond in certain types of situations, based on ones outlook on life and how they would deal with issues especially in a business environment. Since I have been out of the work environment for over twenty years, the results of this personality test will coincide with my life experiences and the different aspects of the four letter type that I am will reflect on those. After taking the test, which offered multiple variations of yes and no answers for each question, and it was determined that my type is ISFJ and my two letter temperament is SJ. Each of these will be broken down and discussed in this project paper. It will not only cover it from a life experience or textbook perspective but also from a biblical point of view.

Throughout the beginning of this semester I have looked at how individuals behave within business organizations. Through various exercises and results, I have found a number of patterns within my behavior and interests. I have become aware what interests me, and a number of skills/abilities I was oblivious I had. This reflection and in class exercises has allowed me to expand my skills, abilities, and behaviors, well fitting them into prospective future employment.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has recognized my profile as Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking and Judgment (INTJ). As an introvert, I can get nervous among other people. It does not pose a problem for an individual. On the other hand, in order to be an effective leader, it is important for me to keep a profound communicational relationship with my subordinates. Without proper communication skills, it is not possible to establish a functional relationship with my subordinates. This may jeopardize the success of any activity that we are involved in. Before taking the Myers-Briggs Interactive Test, I didn’t really know what to expect or what kind of questions I would be answering in order to determine what my personality type would be. Afterwards however, I wasn’t too surprised with my results of the test. Out of the sixteen different personality types, I got the INFJ personality type which simply means dominant introverted intuition. All of those letters were pretty self-explanatory and accurate according to how my temperament and personality are. The statistical conclusion was 67% introvert (I), 38% intuitive (N), 50% feeling (F), and 56% judging (J). Therefore I had a distinctive preference of introversion over extraversion, a moderate preference of intuition over sensing, a moderate preference of feeling over thinking, and a moderate preference of judging over perceiving.
Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
