Virtual- Semester Reflection My routine for completing my virtual course is a very tight schedule. Since I have classes in the morning I need to be organized and do everything in order. When I’m done with my classes I usually do a quick homework. After that, around eleven or twelve I start working on my virtual. I usually do my virtual in the living room so that I won’t get distracted. It usually takes me one hour to do my virtual. If I do my virtual with someone else in the room, I complete it a lot more faster. If I’m alone, I often wander off and get distracted. I work by myself. I feel like the work is challenging in a different way because I need to adapt to a different way of writing. It feels useful and helpful because the different types of writing techniques are very helpful. These tips and lessons have helped me in my college courses and actually being able to practice and improve on my writing. I feel overjoyed and exciting to open up to a new lesson, I’m excited to learn something new. I don’t struggle to get through instructions because they are very straightforward and clear (thank-you for making the instructions clear). I know what I’m expecting and how to do the things. …show more content…
Also, relating my own experience in my essays and making my essay flow nicely. I believe that I would like to improve on my grammar and sentence structure. I love writing in general. Since, I have my writing college classes and virtual classes on the same day, I learn two lessons. I love to learn more about writing and to improve on my own writing. In my opinion, I love to write poems, stories, essays (depends) and text messages. I love this type of writing because it involves creativity and my own opinion on
Writing is a type of art because it requires you to think and be creative in the way you want it to be. I have a diary that I wrote almost everyday. They help me think about my day and sometimes turn my bad day into a good day. I write whatever comes into my head at that moment, and reflect on my day. Writing make me think deeper to what happen and help me turn my negative thought to positive. Writing is a very powerful tool. When I write, I have the power to change the story. I am the author of my own story so I can be as creative as I want.
As a student, I have learned many different skills that I will take with me throughout my journey from this course. We have traversed many different types of writing styles, which any college student, or any person for that
In conclusion writing helps me communicate with others in different ways. Writing is a remarkable form of communication, because it lets me acknowledge my identity through my living experience. It also helps me connect and communicate with my loved ones living abroad. Finally writing lets me touch hearts by composing musical lyrics.
Throughout this semester, I was able to learn many writing skill and was able to develop as a writer. When I found out that I was scheduled to be in English Composition I, I was very nervous as I have always felt that writing was one of the skills that I needed to improve on. Although I usually received good grades on my essays, I did not like writing them since it would always take me more than five hours to write a one page essay. If I wanted a good grade in English Composition I, I knew that I was definitely going to have to improve on my grammars. The main skills that we learned in this class were writing a clear thesis statement, paragraph structures, and sensory details. Through this class, I was able to attain more knowledge in these areas and gain confidence in my writing skills. The areas that I have improved on over the course of the semester are staying in the same tense, using
...rifying my supporting sentences. Even though my writing still has areas that need improvement, I have fulfilled the objectives to certain degree. Some of the objectives I only met to a minimum, but those objectives will be fully grasped with further development of my writing. My academic writing has also improved by me taking time to fully understand who my audience will be. I use appropriate tone and language to appeal to my audience, so my thoughts will be understood. Creating an essay that flows with organization and transitional phrases also improves my academic writing by showing I understand what I am writing about. Completing the assignments for English Composition 101 were challenging and sometimes were quite difficult. Nonetheless, I would not have learned how to grow in academic writing without pushing myself to complete the objective for this course.
At first, it wasn’t easy to write and appreciate my writing, because I used to compare my writing to professional writing, and the first thing that came to my mind was that my writing was horrible. Later on I started to view writing in a different perspective. This was when I realized that not everyone writes about the same thing, and that every writer has their own ideas and way of writing.
I improved on many aspects of my writing throughout the duration of this class, but there are still some things I need to refine. Over the course my writing skills have gotten better due to the instructor’s feedback, peer reviews, and just me learning. I enjoyed peer reviews because sometimes it is easier to relate to someone my own age. The overall structure and flow of my essays have improved, as well as the use of word choice and quotations. Throughout this course, I was able to apply critical thinking and reading skills to different texts, compose essays with appropriate content development and organization, use correct style by practicing the steps of the writing process, and reflect on my own development as a writer. However, I still need to work on demonstrating correctness, including punctuation, mechanics, and
Throughout this semester I have learned many ways of writing through two main essays literacy narrative and comparison and contrast. These two essays have taught me how to correctly fix my comma splices, thesis statements, and capitalization. I have engaged in numerous learning material during this summer class. Many times when I thought it would be hard to work on those three developments I never gave up. I gain more positive feedback from my teacher because he pointed out most of my mistakes I made on both literacy narrative and comparison and contrast essays to help me understand what is it that I need to work on. My development as a writer became stronger.
Over the years of my schooling, I have gradually developed my writing preparation to help me become a better writer. I continue to find ways to improve my writing abilities by working on my weaknesses and by incorporating the feedback I receive from my peers and my instructors into my essays. At times, I still struggle when preparing to start my essay, but with precise and organized planning and obtaining the help of others, I am certain that I will become more proficient in my writing
Creative writing is my favorite; I believe it is where my writing is its strongest. I like that there are endless possibilities and that it really allows for my creativity to run wild. A particular creative essay that stands out to me is one from my ninth grade year of high school. I was assigned to write about my favorite childhood fairytale, but to put a twist to it. I wrote about Cinderella, and I totally changed up the original. I
them. If I can improve these skills, my patients will benefit as I aim to improve the standard
I was never a person that liked to write essays. This semester I really enjoyed writing those essays and specially because I was learning new things while writing them. Some things I could do to improve my essay writing are not to wait till the last three or four days before I turn my essay in to start doing it. Another thing I will do is if I forget how to do something or about some rule in the common errors I made I will just go back to all the lessons I printed out to have as reference. I think those will help me allot. And one last thing I will do to improve my writing is to try my best not to confuse all those words I got confused. I will do my best to learn each word and its rule of where it goes so I won’t have the same mistakes I had this semester.
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class, I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work to see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded.
Most of the sentences I read are hard for me to understand. My composing strengths are that I have more experience writing in China, which I could not use it to write in English. I thought I was not ready for this class. However, when I had finished the English writing course I realized that I could be a writer; not only for essays, but also for other styles as well. I was so surprised.
Before taking English 1A, I was a discouraged writer because as an English learner, I did not believe that I had any ability to be an acceptable writer. Therefore, I did not have any joy while I was doing writing assignments. However, I have gradually loved writing through this semester. I fortunately got plenty of helps from my classmates and professor; thus, my writing skills have gotten improved a lot. I currently can feel that writing is a quite enjoyable process, and I like delivering my ideas to other people by writing, too. I am really proud that I have enhanced my pre-writing skills, writing structure and revising skills and have learned how to write an effective thesis statement and how to deal with rhetorical analysis. However, I still have lots of deficiencies in my articles, such as grammar problem and the lack of logical transition.
