I am writing with the aim of letting you know about my training experience as a sous chef per your request, also with some recommendations and knowledge about training in the service industry. As we know, a training manager is responsible with ensuring that all the employees are well trained with the necessary skills and knowledge to increase their productivity in the job. Your employees are the most valuable assets of your business, and training them to the necessary skills is of high importance. There are many numerous ways and materials available to help your employees and train them to do their jobs better, because the better the service provider is, the better perspective customers will have of the services. That way you can guarantee a great service; a service guarantee is a promise to compensate customers if the service provided fails to meet established standards. The only thing is that sometimes it is very difficult to determine the best employee training methods and techniques. Some training techniques are more cost-effective than others, but you want to use the best options available for your employees so they can master various skills and learn different styles. The more trained and skilled the employees are, the more profits your business will garner.
First, It was a great experience and an honor to be part of the training program. In the first stage of my training process, having a classroom training environment where the employees could interact and share ideas was a great way to get familiarized with the job and what the company is about, this is a great way to start a training process. Like other forms of training, classroom training has its strengths and weaknesses. Some of its strengths are; enabling the teachi...

...ove your training process is to incorporate an online-based training. With the numerous technological advances, many companies and businesses rely on online resources to deliver proper training to their employees, and the trainees can do it at home or anywhere they have Internet access. Computer-based training formats vary from the simplest program to a highly sophisticated program to virtual reality. Virtual reality is a training program that takes form of a simulation, which is a highly effective form of training; it is hands-on experience without the risks of actual performance. Simulators have been a successful training method for airlines and military pilots with critical flying skills required, as well to prepare them for emergency situations in a safe environment.
Thanks you so much for your time and for letting me experience the job through these practices.
General manager Terrell states, “Red Lobster’s new employees must have knowledgeable experience in the restaurant industry”. After the new employee is hired and screened for a background check, new employees attend Red Lobster new employee orientation where Red Lobster’s history, the standard of service, and menu item are taught and tested. After formal orientation, new front house employees are assigned to a mentor to shadow to learn their new position. The week after depending on the new employee capabilities the new employee would be considered fully trained and allowed to wait, host, or bus solo. Back of the house training is a bit different new employees training began as an entry-level cook preparing the smaller pre-packaged items such as salad, bread, and sides. After completing training on those items, a new employee will learn who to prepare and assemble entrees and desserts. There is no formal succession plan when it comes to predicting which staff member is going to be a successful manager in the future, steps to becoming a manager is usually beginning by employees showing strong leadership qualities of a potential leader or even an employee stating the interest of taking on more responsibility.Intern managers undergo a three-month training
I believe that my Train-Select-Recruit class has taught me many things that I will be able to use in a Human Resource position. I learned many different ways that training can be looked at and approached. I was introduced to a new social media program called Aurasma that could be used for training. It reminded me that there are always new ways to go about developing a training program and that you need to keep your eyes open and keep an open mind. More work.
Implementations of a students-centered learning environment, in my classroom this step occurs within cooperative and collaborative group work. This strategy has worked for me over the years, reinforcing and developing a strong student-to- student and instructor-to-students relationships, at the same time establish an honest and sincere communications in my classroom.
I believe that the most valuable lesson learned for me through my experience was that it is completely different when you have to come into school having the mindset of an educator rather than just a student; meaning that there is much more to focus on as a future educator rather than just being a student. For instance, as a student, you typically go in there and worry about just learning the lesson and completing the assignments for your own benefit. With the mindset of an educator, there are far more things going on in your head besides the lesson of the day. For example, you have to constantly wonder whether students are able to understand the lesson and whether your methods of teaching are effective. You also wonder how your class learns best since not all students learn the same. So, you have to have a variety in your teaching so that each student is able to feel comfortable at certain points of your assignments and teaching skills. One of the least valuable things I learned from my field experience was traditional note taking and lectures. I say this because it is something that I grew up knowing in my classrooms when I was a students. I believe that learning new ways to teach is extremely beneficial and I enjoy seeing more and more teachers incorporating this into their lesson
To be a successful teacher one must first understand their own personal classroom management strengths and build from those attributes. Equally important are those areas of concern that could benefit from professional development or active conscious practice. As a future educator I have been exposed to many management styles and strategies throughout the course of the semester in the Creating Positive Learning Environments classroom as a result I can better understand my own personal managerial strengths and areas that also raise concern.
Restaurant manager is a responsible position and career which has several opportunities to accomplish. The manager has to manage the whole restaurant staff, has to be flexible in approach and promote motivation and performance among them for better restaurant productivity and profits. Complete dedication is essential to reach highest position in management and for this the person has to settle certain goals and improve the skills, values and qualities with time and market demands (Brawer eta l., 2012).
In conclusion I feel that I have gained knowledge that can only be obtained through hands on experience in the classroom. With this experience I changed my assumption about classroom management techniques and have a totally new outlook which will only aid me as a teacher. This will be of great help to me going forward but I feel as a teacher you must be constantly open to learning and improving
The difference between high performing companies and all other organizations is the degree to which training is integrated into company culture and strategy. Despite less time was given for formal training, the employees were benefiting more. This is due to the environment of continuous learning in which nontraditional training opportunities were offered and encouraged. Another important factor is linking strategy and training. Training is considered an investment for the organization because it is potentially a company’s most critical asset.

Running a restaurant can be one of the most stressful jobs as well as the most fun and rewarding jobs. If the manager is a good leader with excellent leadership skills and has great followers the restaurant will be rewarded. If not the restaurant will plummet in sales and no one will be pleased. While developing a business. staff is important to running a successful restaurant, it is also essential that management focus on its public relations as well as its sales and marketing strategies.
Education is an ever-changing part of society. A classroom teacher is faced with new challenges and obstacles that have never been dealt with before. Students come to the classroom with different life stories. Every student has strengths and weaknesses that surface in the classroom environment. Teachers must understand and focus on utilizing each student's strengths and work to improve weaknesses. Students learn in a variety of ways. The classroom must be a safe zone that appreciates student's viewpoints and allows room for mistakes. When topics in the classroom are related to "real-life" experiences, the information is more likely to be retained. Students learn from one another. The ideas and perspectives that each student brings to the classroom can bring insight into what is being learned. Students have to be allowed to explore new ideas, try them to see if they work, and sometimes fail. When students are encouraged to explore, they begin the process of becoming lifelong learners.
...nd understand the needs earlier. Sometimes I don’t make enough time to do this. I feel that if I took the time, researched the group and found out that if people did have learning needs within the group I could be more prepared. I do adapt things in the group but I feel that this could be improved throughout training and understanding the needs of these students and what works best for them. As mentioned above the training could help me to understand this more as I have never had to teach students in this way.
