My personality score on What’s My Basic Personality Assessment was all within the moderate range except for scoring a 12 on extroversion. The definition of extroversion defines me pretty well as I view myself as sociable, talkative, and assertive. I enjoy being around people and do not know a stranger. In both conscientiousness and emotional stability, I received an 11. Though I see myself as dependable and responsible per the definition of conscientiousness, I see myself scoring low on this as I am easily distracted. My lowest score was in openness to experience (8). With my goal of being in a managerial position, scoring the highest on extroversion is what I would hope to do. Happiness is the number one terminal value to me. Happiness is …show more content…
the core of everything in life. Without it there is no purpose. Next, I see self-respect as important. If one lacks self- respect, it is difficult to make it far in life.
One needs to have respect in his or herself to gain respect of others. Having self-respect, one will want to gain knowledge and wisdom and therefore I rated that as number three. Peace and harmony in the world was number ten on my list. I see dealing with oneself is important before dealing and worrying about others. Independence and standing up for yourself is my number one and two choice for instrumental values. It is important to be self-sufficient and if you do not stand up for yourself who will? I ranked obedience as number ten. I find it very hard to be a follower. I tend to go with my own thoughts and ideas. This goes along with being independent. My Jungian type-personality is ENTP. Again I was labeled as extroverted along with intuitive, thinking, and perceiving. ENTP is known to be versatile. I do see myself as being easily adaptive to situations. My future goal is to become an entrepreneurial, so it was nice to see that as a personality trait. The Junigan and Basic Personality Assessments both found me to be extroverted. I am a people person and enjoy being around others. I am not shy nor find it hard to talk to strangers. To make it in any service organization one has to be able to easily communicate with others
and have self-confidence to do this. Versatile is also found in both of my results in Basic Personality and Junigan Assessment. I found these two assessments the most helpful in determining my strengths and personality type.
I tend to be analytical, as previously mentioned, and supportive of others. Upholding high principles of morality and ethics have made me flourish as I have a lot of empathy towards the needy.
In the area of decision making I believe myself to be more Thinking than Feeling. An example of the thinking preference can be seen in my role as a consistent, objective disciplinarian. My firm-mindedness in this area has produced children that are a joy to teach as well as to take out in public. Our family receives numerous compliments on how well behaved and delightful our children are. I believe it is my desire for justice and my clarity in rules and expectations that make this achievable for my children.
Within the Jung Typology Test (JTT) it states that my type of personality is introverted, sensing, feeling and judging. The results indicated I am an introvert over extrovert, the score showed 56%. There was a marginal or no preference to sensing over intuition at 1% for this result. Moderate preference to feeling over thinking at 25%, and a strong preference to judging over perceiving at 78%. So this is saying that I am an introverted sensing with extroverted feeling.
The ability to be self-aware, identify specific personality traits, and assess personal strengths and weaknesses are powerful tools for lifelong personal and professional success. One of the most popular and trusted personality assessment tools utilized today is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (CPP, 2016). According to Meyers-Briggs Personality test my personality type is ESFJ also known as “The Caregiver.” An ESFJ is one of 13 personality types identified through the Myers-Briggs assessment tool (HumanmetricsInc, 2016). This assignment will identify the different aspects of my personality and how they work together. It will also evaluate strengths, weaknesses and organizational behaviors in an effort to maximize professional performance.
I love people. Since I am 81% extroverted, I gain energy from being with others and seek to make the people I love happy and one of my greatest joys is to see those I love succeed and have their dreams come true (16 Personalities, 2017). I am loyal, but I tend go somewhat overboard when trying to avoid conflict or make things work in a relationship. I can allow myself to be hurt by being transparent and then
Personality wise, most people would say I’m annoying, loud, and rude. Strangers would describe me as quiet and shy.
The first letter of the Jung Typology Test has me listed as 22% introvert. I believe that most of the people that know me, outside of work, would agree with
I feel that doing what you say you will, and treating others as you want to be treated are principles that should not only be looked at as great strengths but as internal values that convey credibility. When people trust you and know they can come to you without judgment, it offers them a sense of security and peace.
2) On Conscientiousness, I rank very high – 86%. I also agree with this placement. I am well-organized and reliable. I feel that this part of my personality weighs down my openness to new experiences above. I’m very careful and calculated, taking care to get things right. 3) In Extraversion I ranked very low at just 7 percent. This is probably an accurate depiction, but if you asked most people who know me they wouldn’t rank me that low. I am a quiet, thoughtful person and I prefer small groups to large crowds. I am perfectly happy spending quiet time on my own. I actually work very hard at being more outgoing and forcing myself to talk to people in social situations where I would feel more comfortable melding into the background.
For the Openness to Experience/Intellect, my score indicated that I prefer traditional and familiar experiences. While that may be true, it also indicated that I was uncreative and had narrow interest. I think I am a very creative person, because some In allowing them to have a voice, they will be able to offer feedback or contributions (positive or negative) that can be instrumental in some decision making. I will set the example by being a good role model, so that they will not only hear what they are expected to do, but also see.
My personality ENTJ that's it, but what is that exactly? According to the Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test online I am a slight extravert, intuitive, thinking and judging person. Some might even say I am arrogant and straightforward which and I tend to be “on-duty” all the time which are also traits that were affirmed. I feel sure they did not score my answers correctly as I consider myself more an introvert. Before I began taking the online test I thought I was an open-minded and optimistic person with tendencies to be more creative versus organized with a high preference for introversion, but, after careful reading I was an introvert but have now pushed myself to become a slight extrovert with the test results leaving me feeling empowered that the traits I actually strive for are becoming my beliefs.
My personality type is Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive or ENFP. According to the description in the exercise, ENFP's are warm, enthusiastic and live their outer life more with intuition and their inner more with feeling. This assessment is consistent with the results that I received in part I of the exercise. I am an extroverted person who enjoys being around and working with people.
Other strengths include being self-confident, conscientious, diligent and determined. It was interesting to see my lower scores as well; the lowest average score was sensitivity (3.2), followed closely by self-assuredness and perception and empathy. Although I consider myself sensitive, I believe the sense of sensitivity does not apply as often towards others I interact with. For example, I often speak my mind and voice my opinion with little thought of the consequence or impact it might have on those around me. Thus, sensitivity is not one of my existing strengths, but rather an opportunity for growth. I also found it interesting to note how I scored significantly lower in the human skill, and higher in technical, which I did not expect. This score likely correlates with my score form the LTQ, which identified room for improvement in relating with
Taking a personality test is something that I have had to do a few times. First in college while going for my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, then while attending Airman Leadership School, and finally for this class. Taking these test all three times I have received similar if not the same results so I think that I have answered these truthful each time. Some of the tests that were required for this class were more in depth, taking 82 sub test
“open-door” policy with the people in my life and I’m confident when meeting new people, I
