My greatest Accomplishment: The Happy Moments In Life As an adolescent, Gilbert, who is seventeen, did not have a multitude of accomplishments, but the few tasks he was able to accomplish were grand. For starters, one of his proudest accomplishments would be when he was nominated to become one of the five leaders of NJHS. Additionally, being a leader of the NJHS also meant that Gilbert had to play the “leader” role, meaning that he had to be the role model towards the other students in NJHS; he also had a sizeable responsibility as the leader. He needed to prepare a speech that would be given to a few hundred people, about society and how the NJHS is supposed to contribute back towards the community. Another one of his greatest accomplishment …show more content…
He is very proud of being a 3-time champion for his little league baseball team. The last three years he and his team put in a lot of hard work to win. Gilbert trained all summer long after his first year of losing the championships; from then on, he made sure that his team, The Lions Club, would win every year until he left. Winning the championship was very hard, not because of the actual playing, but because of the umpires, whom hated our team. Gilbert was also proud to have made the basketball team in middle school. He did not get many minutes, but making the team sparked a new interest in Gilbert, playing …show more content…
Through his paternal side of the family, he is Italian and Spanish. Through his maternal side, he is Spanish and African American. Gilberto and Damaris, Gilbert’s father and mother respectively, immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic about twenty years ago. Once they established a life in New Jersey, they had his older sister, Gisbely, and one year later Gilbert was born. My Birth Announcement: He is on his way to Life Gilbert’s parents were very proud when they found out they were going to be having a new baby boy. They went on to tell all of their close relatives and there was going to be a huge baby shower. On the invitation letter, everyone was told that it was going to be a baby boy. The people brought many different presents for the baby, so that he would be ready for life, once he came out. My strengths: Gilbert was considered a very outgoing kid growing up. With his hard work and dedication, he overcame any obstacle. After Gilbert lost his paternal grandfather, he decided to change the ways he lived life. This was when he became a more optimistic person. He decided to try and find the positive view towards every situation, rather than the negative. This is what allowed him to become a successful
Becky became Gilbert’s outlet from the stress of being head of the household and taking care of his siblings yet he always kept Arnie along his side while he was with Becky. Soon Arnie grows fond of Becky and began looking up to her like an older sister. Another outside support is Gilbert’s job that allowed him to take Arnie with him to work because they understood that Arnie is developmentally challenged requiring a lot of attention and Gilbert is the only breadwinner of the family.
Throughout the years of being a student at Council Rock, I have come to the realization of what a true leader is. A leader is not someone that just plans events, collects money, or shows up to meetings. Rather, this is someone that has a true connection with their peers, and has unmatched passion for what they do. With this, I can confidently say that since seventh grade, as a young adult, I have been shaped into an individual that fits these traits. Since that time, I have been involved in student government,
For years, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, has been a staple in college, high school, and even middle school classes. The eloquent story follows a group of young boys stranded on a jungle island. They are left thousands of miles away from civilization and are left to survive by themselves. Throughout the story, many insights in leadership are seen through the power struggle between Ralph and Jack. Both have extremely different styles of leadership with varying levels of success. Lord of the Flies teaches me about leadership in the initial selection of the leader, how they solve problems, and how they motivate others.
Throughout his childhood and teenage years Terry has shown strong determination to achieve his goals. As a child Terry had always wanted to play basketball for his school. Unfortunately, he was not very good at this sport. He practiced until in eighth grade when he made the basketball team. His coach advised him to take up a different sport such as running or soccer due to his short height. Although
As I have developed in my job, school, and as a person, I found that I enjoyed helping others and want to become a leader. This paper will further describe how my experiences and background have shaped the leader I am today.
Confidence, not arrogance, is the hallmark of a talented leader. Daniel Betancourt-Trompa is a young man with a great ability to lead. He does so not for attention, but because he believes it is an adequate way for him to help others. In turn, this philosophy engenders characteristics such as selflessness, generosity, and understanding; signs of an exceptional leader. As the founder and president of the BFA (a school fundraising group), he conducted various fundraisers with the intent of benefitting any school organization with financial needs and to increase school spirit. In tenth grade, he became the Student Council Treasurer. During his time in office, he completed all of his tasks effectively and efficiently. All of his work was completed before a deadline and he could be counted on for anything that the council
I first encountered the significance of leadership in the tenth grade. Berry College the largest campus in the U.S. was in search of school ambassadors to serve part in a seminar known as HOBY. To get chosen you had to write an essay describing your leadership roles, and at that moment I thought that I did not have any. I literally did not know what it meant to be a leader. I had to brainstorm till I remembered going through one of the most difficult times of my life. The lack of understanding the English language became one of my biggest obstacles, and even caused me to repeat a chapter of my life. However, I did not cease; I continued to fight and strove to help others who were susceptible of following my steps. I used my story as an example, and hoped that it would make a difference in someone else’s life.
After a career working at four high schools as well as being the lead administrator at several summer schools, Harris sees that he has an important role to play. “I have a job to lead and guide others to success. It’s about high expectations and mentoring
“.....It never occurred to him, not even for a moment, that the baby might be a girl. He turned to the financial pages and checked the stock market: it had dropped a few points; that damned earthquake had taken $100,000 off the value of his own holdings at the bank, but as his personal fortune remained comfortably over $16 million, it was going to take more than a California earthquake to move him ..."Congratulations, Sir, you have a son, a fine-looking little boy." What silly remarks people make when a child is born, the father thought; how could it be anything but little? The news hadn't yet dawned on him - a son. He almost thanked God. The obstetrician ventured a question to break the silence. "Have you decided what you will name him?" The father answered without hesitation: "William Lowell Kane.....”
I have not had a single accomplishment that is worth writing about but I feel that my college completion will be one accomplishment that I will be most proud. I feel that I am taking one step forward in life that will make me become a more successful person.
During my life I had some accomplishments. But, I will tell you the truth I cannot call them as my great accomplishments. At this point of my life I had the two greatest events. My first event was my high school graduation. The second event, which was the biggest and the most unforgettable was my wedding day.
Everyone goes through many different experiences throughout their life. Some people have crazier experiences to remember than others do and it is normally common. Whether it is to happen at a young age, or older it can still happen. Some will remember the bad ones more than the good, or vice versa like myself for instance. In my lifetime, I have had many experiences, but some I remember more than others.

Everyone has a memorable unforgettable moment in their life time and will charish that momement as long as they live. I am one of those many with a memorable loving moment. I have made many achievements in my life. I am happy to be such an achiever at things. I remember my first achievement which was in kindergarten. In kindergarten I got on the honor roll for the first time. I was so happy, but I was just happy because my mom was happy. I didn’t even know what honor roll meant, but I finally founded out that is meant that I got all A’s. My mom was so happy for me, and I got lot of money for my A’s. After that my next achievement was that I learn how to ride a bike. When I first started to ride a bike with no training wheels I kept on falling. After I kept falling I didn’t want to learn anymore, but I saw that my little cousin was riding a bike, so I just had to learn how to ride a bike. Finally, after all the sores and burses, I learned how to ride a bike. I still fall every now and then.
