As mentioned before, I am an international student from China studying at a Canadian high school. When I first came to Canada, the environment was completely unfamiliar to me. I had to overcome a language barrier, a cultural barrier, and differences in lifestyles. However, I did not flinch but challenged myself. I took tutorial classes to learn English, I spent more time than other students doing homework, and I joined clubs and took part in activities to get involved in the Canadian cultural. I tried my best to speak to Canadians and learned their lifestyles and world views. By the end of the first year, I managed to get an average of 92 percent, and an English mark of 91.
