Those of us who enjoy the pursuit of dangerous game spend an extraordinary amount of time focusing on the gear we use; it has to perform flawlessly, as our very lives depend upon it. I’m not the kind of hunter who holds one form of hunting above another, as though dangerous game is somehow superior to other game animals, but I do know if my deer rifle malfunctions, odds are my life won’t be in danger. The same cannot be said for the truly dangerous game animals.
One malfunction — whether from an errant shot, a misfire or a bullet that simply doesn’t reach the vitals — and things can turn nasty in the blink of an eye. Rogue elephants, mauling leopards, grizzlies that just won’t die, or the charge of the Cape buffalo — ”Black Death” as he is
Where does the line of sport and murder intersect in hunting? Is it when the species being hunted is able to reason? Or is it when the species being hunted looks just like the hunter? In both movie and film, we see a man fight for his life and another going against all codes of ethics. While Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game” and Ernest B. Schoedsack’s film adaptation both have several similarities, the difference are also apparent in each respective media.
Most bow hunters are pretty sensible about their sport and do not want to see an
In conclusion hunting is not for everyone, but those who do take pride in it. It takes a lot more than just to walk in the woods and pick a spot. Deer use thousands of runs throughout the woods. Spending weeks searching for the right spot in order to make a kill. It takes hours of sitting in a stand not saying a word or moving a muscle. You could spend days, months, or even years without getting a kill if you do not put in the time. When the time comes if you’ve done what I’ve said in the above paragraphs, you will be

From the hunting experiences that I have had, I agree with this statement one hundred percent.
Thankfully, I had been able to keep myself spoiler free as it relates to “The Deer Hunter.” For a movie with this reputation and fame, I was quite proud of the fact that I hardly knew what it was about, how it ended or even how its famous Russian roulette scene climaxes. I was excited to finally see this movie, in small part because it was the last film I needed to see to have watched every best picture winner from the 1970s. But, to put it bluntly, “The Deer Hunter” disappointed me.
Many people have misconceptions about hunting. One such misconception is that hunting is easy and any person can go sit in the woods and wait for an animal to cross the hunter’s path. However, people who believe this are sorely mistaken. Hunting is not just sitting in the woods with a rifle; there are many other aspects that must be considered. An individual must have all preparations complete, purchase or gather the equipment needed, and know what to listen for while in the woods.
Beginning with the creation of the world, hunting has been over thousands of years for a number of reasons. Nowadays, hunting is considered one of the most interesting outdoor activities that have many advantages. However, hunting is a very controversial topic, for some might consider it very harmful and dangerous for the environment. Although this point of view is adopted by a part of the society, one can counter it with a numerous reasons. Hunting provides several benefits for those who partake in it and for the environment as well.
Countless sportsman around the sphere commonly use guns for hunting. Occasionally this is the leading contributor to nourishing a family. Various men and women believe in supplying for their family in means of living off the land. Numerous animals are easy to come by in nature, which provides a variety of meat to hunters. To particular sportsmen this meat is superior to any store bought substance. Several sportsmen spend countless hours in the woodlands to pursue these animals. According to Bob Adams article, President Bill Clinton indicated in 1993 “I came from a state where half the folks have hunting and fishing licenses, this is a big part of American culture we even close schools for the first day of deer season.” Sportsmen prepare all y...
It’s a brisk November morning like any other day, but today isn’t any other day, today is the first day of firearm deer season. Shots are going off everywhere like world war three declared on deer. I’m wrapped in every hunting garment I own but winters cold embrace always finds its way in. My cheeks are rosy red and my breath was thick in the air. As I raise my shotgun and pull the trigger, my heart races and my hands shake. As I race after my prize, the sounds of leaves crunching beneath my feet are muffled by the ringing in my ears. I’m walking face to the ground like a hound on a trail and then my eyes caught it, my very first whitetail. I will never forget my first deer and the joy I felt sharing it with my family. Hunting is a passed down tradition for my family and friends. Throughout the world, millions of people participate in the spoils and adventure of the hunt. Hunting has been a pastime since the beginning of man. Hunting is one of those things either you like or you don’t like. It’s hard to explain the joys of hunting ,because it’s something one must experience for his self. Hunting does have laws and regulations you have to abide by. Are hunting regulations benefiting the hunter or the animal? This paper will discuss some of the regulations and laws, types of game, disadvantages of regulations, the pros of regulations, poachers, and ways to preserve wildlife and there habitat.
White-tailed deer, also known as the whitetail, is native to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America as far south as Peru and Bolivia. What are the things called antlers and what are they made of? Deer antlers are made of bone. They grow from pedicles, bony bumps found on the heads of all deer, and they drop off after the mating season ends.
Anzaldua describes borderlands as a war between races and social classes, but for me it’s different than that because for six years of my life, I went to private (Catholic) school. Private school always seemed better than other schools until I left and had to face the real world. At school, all students had to wear the same uniforms, girls wore plaid skirts and boys wore khakis. From kindergarten until third grade, girls had to wear a sailor like shirt with a cardigan sweater while boys were allowed to wear polos. Girls were not allowed to wear jewelry or makeup or have dyed hair. These things were considered unnatural and distractions for others. In other words, everyone looked the same. I could not express myself at all because it was prohibited. The kids at my school could have been soldier's, silent, standing in line wearing matching uniforms waiting for instructions.
The Most Dangerous Game, on the other hand, is a story authored by Richard Connell that pits two notorious hunters against one another in a life and death competition (Connell, 2015). This story raises questions about cruelty and nature of violence as well as the ethics of hunting for sport. The primary theme of the hunter becoming the hunted has resulted to the most liked one in
In the modern era, gun violence seems very common when one opens a newspaper or watches the news on the television. I’m some of the acts of violence, guns were used and some of the weapons listed by the media that look like military weapons are named “assault weapons” or “assault rifle”. As time goes on, more weapons like these keep appearing in the news, assisting criminals with their terrible crimes. As a result, the debate on banning assault rifles has risen. The situations where these types of weapons are being used by animals are a perfect reason why assault rifle should not be banned.
I choose this experiment because I am a hunter and having an accurate rifle is a good thing. In hunting the first shot counts. Now here is my data I got from the experiment but first a little history on the guns the .234 is a small hunting rifle use on deer and other small game. The .270 is a med. game rifle for deer and up to small elk. The 30-.06 is a large game rifle for elk and up to moose. My problem is the I wont to find out what is the most accurate rifle is. My hypothesis is if three rifles are tested for accusey then what is the most accurate the .270 is the most accurate rifle because a lot of people think the .270 is the most accurate rifle so I am going to test it. So I some research on my experiment I look to be one of the first one to do this
