Looking back on my life thirty years from now, I would measure the success by how well I have accomplished my goals. Establishing positive relationships, growing personally and professionally, and making a difference in the world are factors I believe to be important. Having a great relationship with my future wife and children along with having career that challenges and interests me, is what I deem as important in life.
The first people that come to mind when I think about those who have helped and will continue to help build my future, is my parents. They have always been there for me encouraging me through the challenges and the victories. They have taught me to work hard and never give up. They are a big part of my success now and in my future. Thirty years from now, I would hope to have a wife who will be my best friend and my number one supporter. Being a good communicator is key to establishing successful relationships, whether they are personal or professional. Having positive relationships with coworkers is also very important. Possessing a positive

In high school I achieved academic recognition by being selected for National Honor Society. I placed high expectations on myself throughout my educational career. My active involvement in school and community organizations led to leadership opportunities with an anti-bullying group, Teen Council, Interact Rotary club, and a church youth band. In college I hope to look back and find that I accomplished such things as securing internships and being involved in campus organizations and learning communities. This involvement would lead to success later in my professional career. My dream is to secure an engineering job with a bridge design company. All of the accomplishments along this journey will lead to new experiences and opportunities that will help me grow personally and
Your values and expectations in life. How do you measure success? Happiness? My values all stem from God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. My family, God and my career are my successes and happiness. My expectations are to be the best I can be and to always keep trying. You can do anything you put your mind to and never give up.
People say high school is supposed to be the golden years of your life. I don’t know what else in life is to come; however, my philosophy is to live in the moment and make the life you’re living in the present worthwhile into the future, not only for you but for those who surround you. I live my life participating in our community and getting involved in our school. The activities, and the people I’ve formed relationships with, are what have formed me into the person I have become today. The person I am today is not perfect, but I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made. I think the sense of maturity I have developed throughout my life has given me the determination to be the best person I can be. That being said, I would love to be inducted into the National Honor Society and not only represent our school, but represent our generation to the community not as a “selfie” generation but as a generation, with great potential.
I do not dream of becoming a famous idol or a millionaire. I dream of being able to achieve goals that will impact my life and the rest of the world. Four stressful years, 28 credits, and innumerable hours of no sleep. I will walk across the stage and receive my diploma with a grin of accomplishment. I am proud to share that I will be the first high school graduate in my family's generation, but I do not want to settle for a high school diploma;
As my high school career ends, I notice increasingly how much life that I have yet to live and the opportunities available to me in the years ahead. The past four years have been great preparation for my future endeavors, but college is the path leading to my full potential. In order to reach the end of this path, I utilize my most valuable trait—determination—to set short and long-term goals and achieve them. It is with this “can do” spirit—like the one my grandpa, a former Navy Seabee, evinces through his stories—that I have set my personal goals: to volunteer my time in service to others, further develop leadership skills through experiential learning, and excel at my school work no matter how challenging it may seem. Though these may be difficult to maintain, I have faith that my optimistic attitude will enable me to prevail over the challenges I am certain to face.
Right now, most of you reading this are twenty somethings with extremely bright futures ahead of you. Many of you were the stars of your high school, if not area, if not state, if not country. Then you got here and things changed. All of a sudden, everything was challenging. From the first moment you got here you were in competition with all the other freshmen for spots in a fraternity, sorority, independent living group, or dorm. You compared SAT scores, compared achievements, and found that they, like you, were amazingly accomplished. Many were National Merit Scholars, AP Scholars, Governor’s School participants, Math Olympiad winners, Science Fair winners, and Scholarship recipients.
Look at your life now. Think of your future. Think about what you want to become, your aspirations, ambitions, and goals for yourself. Many of us, in this very room are seniors; we are about to graduate high school and enter a critically imperative phase in our lives, our opportunities are endless, the world is at our feet. No one can tell us that we can’t become what we wish. We alone have the power to pursue what we exemplify to be greatness.
My college career started with me just going to school to take PE classes while neglecting my main required core classes and always pushing them aside without any urgency to succeed in finishing school. A couple of years would go by with little to no progress and lack of motivation to succeed in finishing my college required classes. Soon landing a career oriented job and finding myself dropping out of college to focus on my work career. From this point and time I would learn the importance of school and the value of finish college through my years of experience at work. This awareness of value in finishing college would motivate me to want to go back to school. Soon I would find myself at American River College counseling center. Here I was coming back to school unsure of myself and in an environment where I previously never found success in school. After meeting with my counselor I was recommended to take a college success course. This course is part of a program called the Accelerated College Education (ACE). Because I was able to learn along the years being out of school the importance of gaining an education I gained a new motivation for school, signed up for this ACE program, and enroll in the college success
No matter what I decide to do with the rest of my life, I want to make a difference and leave the most positive impact on the world that I possibly can. In order to do this, I have been working hard academically, and I have been participating in numerous extra-curricular activities inside and outside of school. One area that has really helped me in my ability to reach my goal would be academics. Throughout high school, I have taken more difficult courses in an effort to learn as much as I can. Most of my classes are AP classes and dual credit classes. These classes have a much more accelerated curriculum and have required a lot of hard work for me to be successful. This increased exertion has been well worth it because I have been able to greatly
My greatest accomplishment is my family. It may not seem like an accomplishment to most people, but in my eyes it is huge. I had the impression growing up that if my parents did not seem happy, how could I ever possibly make marriage work for me. By the late 1980’s when I was in high school, I swore I would never marry and never have kids. Eventually I did change my mind, reluctantly I might add. We as humans learn to live by example and my parents were not always the best examples. I come from a military family, my father was in the Navy for 23 years. Leaving my Mom to raise my younger brother and me. So every three years we felt like a single parent family when sea duty rolled around. I always felt like my Father choose to leave us when he went on a cruise for six month. Now I understand that it was a necessity in order for my parents to stay together. In a since, what I’m saying is the separation eventually made us a better family. The heart sometimes needs to miss someone in order to know how it feels about them. Sometime my Mother and I both wish my Father would go away for a little while. I would not object to him take my husband with him as long as they come back. The one person who was able to get me to consider settling down was a former Marine. That I’m still married to after ten years and three children.
An accomplishment is defined as something that has successfully been completed. Accomplishments can shape a person into who they are. Some may help make the community a better place. On top of all of that though, an accomplishment can make a person feel like they can do anything; like they have made themselves a better person by doing what they did. Personally, my accomplishments have made me feel better about myself; they have changed my outlook on life.
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
My Biggest Accomplishment The biggest accomplishment that I have ever faced in my lifetime would be to overcome the artistic blocks that were forged on my mind. In just this past year I have been able to overcome them all. A year and a half ago i was only permitted to draw and paint with my ability, although that is fantastic, i was not happy. I have opened up my mind to the world.
Once I’m in college, I hope to gain more knowledge about what I have interest in. I realized that I’ve learned more about that subject, and I could learn things in the engineering side when I have free time. The knowledge I gain taking the courses I’ll need would be of benefit to me, and improve my knowledge vastly. During college I’ll be taking computer courses, and I’ll also try to see if there is anywhere near where I could help out in. I’d also try to participate with people if anyone is to ever test out something technological. Helping out would be of great help to me, since it would show that I can also apply what I’ve been learning in class into the real world. During my college years I’ll try to be at the top of the class in order to gain recognition from people, and I’ll then be able to have an accomplishment that could help me out when I search for a
My parents always tell me how proud they are of me and all i’ve accomplished in my life at such a young age. I’ve always been known as the “responsible one”, or the “smart one” out of all my friends. I’ve always been the one to remind my friends about tests or reports that are due, and they always ask what they would do without me.
All of the experiences I had up until this date have made into the person I am today. I am very good at appearing confident, and in some area of life I am. I have extreme compassion for those who cannot help themselves and those that struggle to fit in. By finishing my degree in Human Services I will be able to do just that, and in the meantime find peace and move on from own
