My parents always tell me how proud they are of me and all i’ve accomplished in my life at such a young age. I’ve always been known as the “responsible one”, or the “smart one” out of all my friends. I’ve always been the one to remind my friends about tests or reports that are due, and they always ask what they would do without me. I’ve been in choir ever sense I was in 7th grade, and i made it up to the Accapella choir, which is pretty much the highest choir you can join. We traveled to compete and have won many awards. My junior year of high school i did volunteer work at an assisted living facility where i called bingo, i did that for about three mounts. I tried to continue to do that after i got my first job but the two couldn’t work around each others schedules. I got my first job as soon as i turned 16 i got my hired the same day i turned in my application. I have now worked at Wendys for almost two years, and am now studying to be a crew leader, which is right under a manager position have stayed at Wendys so long because they work around my busy schedule and now i know everyone so well that they are all like family. In my junior year of high school i did a scholarship program called Jr. miss where we practiced for about five months. We did fashion shows to raise money. We competed in events such as:talent, poise, fitness, and academics. This allowed me to explore myself and make new friends, it also helped build my self-esteem. My grandma is my role model because she has accomplished so much and been through so much in her life. She is a very beautiful person, but very stubborn in what she believes and wants. Its almost impossible to get her to change her mind. She is always telling me how proud she is of me and has pretty high expectations of me. My mom is also a role model for me because she had a rough childhood and after she started a family she went back to college she is still attending college now, she gives me motivation to never give up and reminds my of how good my life is
A role model is someone you look up to, someone you admire. Whether it be a family member, an actor or actress, a friend, or an athlete -- these people who you see as a role model are people you look up to to inspire and influence who you are as a person. They help to better who you are because they care for you. I proudly call my sister, my father, and my grandmother my role models. Throughout my childhood, my sister, Nikki Tam, contributed to my confident demeanor. In my days of early adolescence, my father, Alan Tam, influenced my mindset to establish and follow strong morals. Today, my grandmother, Maxima Ramos, illustrates the quality of strength -- mental and physical strength. Ultimately, those three people
My greatest accomplishment is my family. It may not seem like an accomplishment to most people, but in my eyes it is huge. I had the impression growing up that if my parents did not seem happy, how could I ever possibly make marriage work for me. By the late 1980’s when I was in high school, I swore I would never marry and never have kids. Eventually I did change my mind, reluctantly I might add. We as humans learn to live by example and my parents were not always the best examples. I come from a military family, my father was in the Navy for 23 years. Leaving my Mom to raise my younger brother and me. So every three years we felt like a single parent family when sea duty rolled around. I always felt like my Father choose to leave us when he went on a cruise for six month. Now I understand that it was a necessity in order for my parents to stay together. In a since, what I’m saying is the separation eventually made us a better family. The heart sometimes needs to miss someone in order to know how it feels about them. Sometime my Mother and I both wish my Father would go away for a little while. I would not object to him take my husband with him as long as they come back. The one person who was able to get me to consider settling down was a former Marine. That I’m still married to after ten years and three children.
I am interested in a career in the medical field because it would allow me to serve the community in a manner that would benefit the people, my family, and myself. Throughout the entirety of my life, I have been a part of what I can best describe as a community-wide circle of giving. My family and myself receive assistance from the community and we give back by donating our extra food and clothes. Another way I like to give back is by donating my time to help the community by volunteering. Indeed, as a member of the Honors College, the motto by which we pursue our college careers truly plays a large part in my life- “To Be Honorable Is to Serve”. Thus, by obtaining a career in the medical field, I hope to continue this circle of giving, and hopefully improve it in some way as my career progresses.
In both my personal life and my academic career, I have demonstrated an ability to work hard at achieving the things that I want. Achievements, such as getting into the IAM and maintaining a high GPA throughout my time here demonstrate this hard work. I am also consistently working hard in my personal life when it comes to moving outside of my comfort zone and contributing to the production of things like the local school play. Being a hard-worker makes me conducive to the values of the National Honor Society because I believe that the NHS prides itself on its ability to effectively help in the improvement of the world, which requires members who work hard to do so. I also believe that a mission as big as promoting scholarship, service, and
Apart from academics, I have also immersed myself into other activities around the school and my community. Over the duration of my high school career, I have earned a music letter every year, and I have been involved in the Marching Band for four years, Concert Band for four years, Jazz Ensemble for three years, Jazz Combo for two years, Patriot League Symphonic Honor Band for three years, and Combined League Honor Band for one year. As a freshman, I was chosen as the saxophone section leader over any upperclassmen because of the way I distinguished myself in my practice and devotion. I have also auditioned and won the position of saxophone, clarinet, and flute section leader in the Marching Band since my sophomore year. Being a section leader in the marching band includes mentoring band members in my section, running rehearsals, and sharing my knowledge about the saxophone with my band members. Having this opportunity sparked leadership in me that I had never experienced before. My extracurricular participation does not stop at the band room, as I have participated in both yearbook and National Honor
In my life, my grandfather has always been my role model. He valued his beliefs and always abides by his values. My grandfather is a pastor. His leadership position in church gave him many responsibilities. I was never disappointed because he always tried to live an honest life. He was always trustworthy, reliable and responsible not just in church but also for his family. People followed his lead because he was always true to his words; he literally practiced what he preached. Credibility was the basic foundation for my grandfather’s leadership position. His credibleness has helped the church stay
My dad was my role model because I used to always look up to him, and love to do whatever he did. He used to always take me to go fishing or even to go feed the birds bread.I just saw my dad as like, one of the coolest super heroes. Not only was it just him, but i always loved his side of the family way more then my mom’s side of the family. I remember one time he brought all of my cousins to our house, and he let us stay up late playing the Wii. He also ordered pizza that night, so that was also why it was such a blast. My dad had the
“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things” said Leonardo Da Vinci. I am the type of student who believes in this statement. Accomplishment does not simply appear. Accomplishment comes with a tremendous cost of time, energy, and hard work. In complete honesty, I have had a wonderful life; I come from a traditional family with a middle-class income living in suburban America. As a result, this question had me stumped at first. Then, talking with other students and educators, I realized as a first generation aspiring four-year college student, my journey to higher education has been challenging without the experienced guidance that students with generational higher education parents have. I realized that I have used these circumstances to develop positive attributes as well as educational and social achievements.
During my life I had some accomplishments. But, I will tell you the truth I cannot call them as my great accomplishments. At this point of my life I had the two greatest events. My first event was my high school graduation. The second event, which was the biggest and the most unforgettable was my wedding day.
An accomplishment that I achieved came from a failure that occurred my high school freshman year when I went out for the wrestling season. I had never wrestled and I wasn’t a very aggressive person, which made me unset for this type of sport. When I began I would constantly lose, match after match and I would be frustrated yet fine with my loses because it was only my first year. I continued practicing at full effort because I knew that with harder training I would be capable of improving. I ended that season without any wins, yet the experience was amazing, I loved the concept of the sport and felt great about myself going out there and trying something new.
I have a broad range of accomplishments. Most of my accomplishments have been in several subjects such as mathematics, science, and even tennis. I credit my achievements to my own perseverance and growth, my mother’s support, and my teachers throughout school. My mother on the other hand, I volunteered at her workplace and I assist in managing a small business in operation, maintenance, administrations, and customer services with give me some basic knowledge of how the money work.
Another one is obviously because she is my mother, I respect her, and I love her to death. My other role model is Yvonne Strahovski, the actress from ‘Chuck’ because if you watched her in interviews and videos, you can see that she is humane, sweet, intelligent, fun, talented and a strong woman. She supports and gives money to charities such as St. Jude’s Hospital. She supports animal rights and she adopted a dog from an animal foundation. She is a great example of a good role model. I used to look up to Selena and I still do, I loved all her songs and she had a beautiful
Many of us have role models in our lives and to most people role models are athletes and movie stars, but to me a role model is much more. To me a role model is a person who has positively influenced someone in life, and is not a person filled with selfishness and greed. They help shape someone’s personality, and characteristics. They are people who someone can look up to for advice in a hard situation, and know that they will give those words of wisdom. They will never judge our past actions, instead only look to help because they really care. A role model is someone who we should never feel awkward talking to about our problems. A perfect role model for me is my mother. She is a wonderful human being. She’s smart, wise, ambitious, patient and such a loving person. There are no words that can describe my gratitude towards her, but through this essay I will describe some of her characteristics that makes her my role model.
My grandfather was my role model because he would always help others. He was a doctor, and he would treat patients, even if they could not pay him. It did not matter to him. All that mattered was that he was able to help someone.
What if you had to answer the question, who is your biggest role model? Would you know the answer on the top of your head, or would you have to think about it? Everyone has their version of their perfect role model. The answer to these questions could be their best friend, family, or even someone as simple as a celebrity. For many people, it can be hard to decide who has had the biggest impact and their life and for what reasons. However, for me deciding my biggest role model is perfectly simple. My biggest role model is my father for many reasons, but the most primary reasons being his constant support, positive outlook on life, and his endless amount determination.
