In Islam God created the religion and Muhammad was seen as Gods mouth piece or the master prophet. The religion Islam means peace and also has a second meaning of surrendering. It means to surrender your life over to God. Those who practice the religion Islam are defined as Muslim. The religion Islam begins with God. In Islam God is referred to as Allah. Allah can be translated the God which adheres to Islam’s strict monotheism. God is considered to be the creator of the world and human kind. Muhammad in Islam is considered the seal of the prophets no other prophets can come after him. The world seemed ignorant and the people were living immoral lives so God sent Muhammad. The name Muhammad means to be highly praised. He was born into the tribe of Mecca. The prophet Muhammad was born into a life that was not easy and had a troubled childhood.
Muhammad was adopted by his uncle and it is said God appeared to him through angels and opened his heart. This is when the prophet Muhammad received light. Muhammad was considered pure hearted and beloved. Muhammad suffered loss at an early age this is made him aware of human suffering. Muhammad set out to help the poor and the weak. Hira. It s at Mt. Hira where Muhammad is convinced of the idea of one God. Mt. Hira is also where the prophet Muhammad hears from Allah telling him that he was the appointed one. Muhammad during this time lies on the floor and an angel appears to Muhammad telling him to proclaim Allah. Muhammad taught that Allah didn’t send him to work miracles but rather to preach. Muhammad never sought signs from Allah. Muhammad‘s message was to be peaceful but some people thought his message was violent because of its strict monotheism, it’s moral teaching and it’s social content.
