In the military, there are two separate groups; Enlisted and Officers. These two groups work hand in hand in each of the departments, whether it be Army, Navy, Air Force, or the Marines in order to assure that our national security is not at stake and to secure our liberties that we possess as American citizens. This being so, every soldier must possess particular qualities in order to succeed later on down the road, which is key in order to make good decisions on the battlefield and find the best route for soldiers to take. Military life is quite regimented and a lot is expected of any soldier; especially officers. As this is the case, officers have to be fluid with their reactions to different situations and must have the ability to work as a team. In any branch of the military, teamwork is essential to the success of the mission and each soldier must carry out their duty in order for the mission to be effectively completed. If any soldier fails to carry out their assigned task, it could jeopardize the mission and put lives at risk. An officer in the military needs to be especially careful and need to not only make sure that they personally are performing their assigned tasks to par, but also make sure that their rest of their team is doing their jobs and so that the mission will not …show more content…

An officer must display discipline in order to be a good soldier and follow the orders which they are assigned. The purpose of this is to keep the command structure in check and make sure that everyone within the military knows their job and their purpose, and knows where they stand on the hierarchy. The importance of this hierarchy is so that officers of any rank know who to follow orders from, and who they have the authority to give orders to. Discipline is key to this command structure, and allows missions to be completed in a more streamlined and efficient
