"A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living." When joining the military you must perform your best to protect our country. Tons of men and women around the world fight for the country and make a career out of it. There are three major branches and many different jobs to go with each one. Each have many specific tasks. (Robbie Hughes Interview) Military background and history has been in the world for a long time. It goes back as far as Assyrians, Spartans, Aztecs, Romans and Greek. The military purpose is mainly to protect our country and our rights and freedoms. It’s just a part of nature. No one came up with military it just happened and got stronger and stronger over the years. It first started with random people coming together protecting towns and homes and families, and eventually more and more people came together. The three main branches of the military are The Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. All three of these branches are the reason the U.S is how it is. These branches fight for our freedom, our rights, and our country!! (Robbie Hughes Interview) The U.S Army is the strongest most respected and feared ground force in the world. It is also the oldest branch of the military and also the largest U.S. Military Service. There are approximately 76,000 officers and 401,000 enlisted members in the active duty Army. The success of the Army lives and dies on themselves and others. The army protects all that the constitution stands for. And each soldier defends this to their last breath with Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Honor, and Personal Courage. The Army has a mission to protect and defend its nation. ( “Overcoming Challenges” np) There are no limits in the Army, none on what you can learn and on what you can achieve. The Army strengthens you, and your future, with expert training in one of over 150 different jobs for soldiers on Active Duty. The trust between the Army professionals and the American people will carry on for many generations to come. Without the trust in the Army Profession, who will the American people trust to protect their Nation? With the trust that the Army professionals have, comes the honorable service to their country. The next characteristic of the Army profession is the honorable service given by the individuals who volunteer to serve their country, as stated in ADRP-1 (2013),”The Army exists as a profession for one reason: to serve the Nation by supporting and defending the Constitution in a way that upholds the rights and interests of the American people” (p.1-6). The statement alone shows the Army ethic, which makes it the center most righteous structure that interprets the means to serve honorably.
In June 2013 Army Doctrine Reference Publication 1 (ADRP1) “The Army Profession” was released and the website http://cape.army.mil was created. In (ADRP1), it states there are five essential characteristics of the Army Profession, trust, military expertise, honorable service, Esprit de Corps, and stewardship (ADRP1, 2013). Those characteristics is what I think separates a Soldier from a civilian. No one should think that their job or occupation is harder or more important than someone else’s. It takes all kinds of professions to make this country work but the Army could not be as successful as it is today without our professionals teaching, coaching, mentoring and preserving these five characteristics.
The army is important to us because they have troops that will defend the land. Tanks that will destroy enemy vehicles and planes to take out other planes. The army is mostly land based meaning they protect the land. (The first army was the Spartans.) And they have there own department the department of army. Other countries could send helicopters carrying land based vehicles to attack the land so then the army will take care of it and protect people like me and you.

Since its inception in 1775, as the Continental Army which transitioned to the Legion of the United States in 1791 and finally to the United Sates Army officially in 1796 we as a force have been the oldest and largest force among the branches. We have fought in many small and large campaigns. Along the way we as a force have innovated the advancements of culture; like the internet, the microwave oven, and antibodies. But one small thing remains underdeveloped. The credential that we hold compared to our civilian and branch counterparts.
Soldier’s Creed, and the NCO Creed. To remind us what we stand for. The expertise

We all have many different jobs through our life, some great others not so well. I can definitely say being an infantryman for the United States Army was the best job I’ve ever had. First of all, the army provided me with the opportunity to travel a lot. Aside from that no other jobs can compare to the benefits that the army provides. There is no better feeling than being guaranteed a stable position within a company. I treasured every single moment working for the United States Army.
Mandatory military service is a course to make a fit and capable citizen. First of all, military service can help one's character . More specifically it gives good tools so that people can work well in a team, be more organized in everyday event and good discipline. Secondly, it can offer education to people in need. Furthermore it will help people in bad neighbourhoods or is living trough a thought time and give those without the means to be in a home and have a job. Thirdly but not least mandatory military service could be looked at as a dept owed to one's country, loved ones who are protected if ever needed and most important to our right to democracy.
As situations in the 21st Century features military operations largely being influenced by political decisions, the military sector should act more independently from their civilian counterparts. Since not many social and political elites are associated with military figures anymore, there is less chances for the politicians to understand matters of the military. It is military personnel that best understand what is happening in this country in terms of military related. Although the very own nature of National Security also heavily depends on political decisions, the growing civilian influence on military may not be as effective as if military had more control and power over its own
While the majority of the population generally think that having American adults ages 18-28 participate in mandatory military service is a violation of our personal rights as Americans; however, I have found through observation, personal experience, and research that it would greatly benefit the US as a whole.
In addition, people who’s in the navy, marines, army, and other branches committed to be in those branches. They choose to fight for their country. They volunteered to be on the front line and serve their country. It’s good if people start at a young age to know what to do once they get older. But it’s also dangerous, because some people don’t like violence. In the military, all you hear is gun shots and explosions everywhere, especially if you’re on the battle
The basic United States Army is an easy branch of the military to enlist into. The academic and physical requirements are easy to pass, but when you truly push and aim for the highest requirements on both academic and physical testing, you open the door to so many more options inside the military. What does stop most people from being able to succeed, is the mental toughness needed to succeed in the intensive programs the Army Special Forces offers. It shows you need academic strength, as much as physical strength if you want to go far in the military. It also requires a mind set to not quit and to push in life until your dream is succeeded.
The ultimate power of society reflects a unique commanders during the military community other than civilian. It is a system that takes into consideration the main requirements for the organization to achieve its objectives, even at the expense of individual soldiers. Such a system also works in combat environments. This is because the system was authorized and established by the Parliament, it reflects to a certain level the collective will of the public on matters of military
As my future quickly approaches, I have begun to make the important decisions that will dictate how my life turns out. During the second semester of my Junior year, I met with a recruiter for the United States Navy. We had many lengthy discussions and I gathered as much information as I could before even considering the military as a part of my life. After plenty of research and long hours on school websites, I have decided that my best option is to enter the Navy as an NROTC graduate, thus beginning my military career as an Officer.
