While the majority of the population generally think that having American adults ages 18-28 participate in mandatory military service is a violation of our personal rights as Americans; however, I have found through observation, personal experience, and research that it would greatly benefit the US as a whole.
Unity-Mandatory service enables us to become an army of all the people. To have soldiers from rich and poor homes; different religious and secular backgrounds, different shades of skin color. Whether they are disabled or healthy, courageous, or hesitant. Service pushes us all through a mixer. Everyone is the same, a soldier, we are equal, and we have the same demands and great responsibilities regardless of creed, ethnicity, or other

Having people available to fill many jobs related to just the support part of our armed services would mean that we would have a significant lower unemployment rate. (Schill, 2008)
Though many would choose to leave the military after serving the required time, some will have discovered their passion for military service. Choosing instead to turn the military into a career. This may inspire many more people to become long term, and very valuable members of the military.
The military would also offer skills and training in a wide variety of job industries that a person can utilize after the end of their service. Or if they decide to leave they would have educational benefits to fall back on, thus reducing the amount of debt a young person starts their adult life in.
Health- Throughout my time in the military service I observed a few basic requirements that the military had concerning health. Having a daily exercise routine offers several health benefits, both in the military and civilian world. Keeping fit reduces weight gain and obesity. It is also positive way to raise your self-image, boosting your self

Since the conflict in Vietnam ended, the military has been an all-volunteer force. This means that generally people are in the military because they want to serve, albeit the motivation for service can vary across a wide spectrum of reasons.
In conclusion, the experience is the kind of professionalism and pride that make soldiers respected the world over. It’s the experience that singles one out as someone with unique ability and unique qualities. The country depends on the military to fulfill the important mission to protect democracy and keep peace. Excelling as an individual and achieving impossible thoughts are motivating reasons to become a part of the Guard. It’s a way to help reach educational or career goals that are set in life. Take the next step and have it all: adventure, camaraderie, challenge, an extra paycheck, military benefits as well as the satisfaction that comes from serving the country and community; a part-time job with full time benefits.
Though grueling and tedious, the rewards for hard work and studying are priceless. You leave the military with a whole new meaning of life. To be able to protect your friends, family, and country is an honor that anyone should be able to enjoy.
Less than one percent of all Americans are enlisted in the military. An even smaller percentage of high school students are enlisted. Students are thought to be incompetent, and not mature enough to decide on enlisting in the military. However, students should be allowed to join the military. The military offers many benefits students can use to help their future. The protection of our country is not overlooked for recruits; they are awarded many personal benefits as well. Tuition assistance, job training, and many benefits that help prepare recruits for occupations while enlisted. Not only are students getting great benefits, but they are also in a small group of professional workers.
The U.S. military is a strong force and body that protects and serves the American people. Many people support the military and some even disagree with it. What people forget is that without a military the U.S. would be totally over run by foreign countries claiming ground. The military also helps with the nation’s economy boosting the balance of money in the works. Families have trouble with members who serve since there is always chance that they never return but it is because of their service that we are still a free country. Even though the military causes pain to families when a loved one is lost, the U.S. needs a military because with a military the economy increases and that without a military we would be invaded by a dictator or foreign
Another benefit to mandatory national service is the government will pay for the whole year of living expenses. To many Americans now a days who face poverty this is a huge benefit. Also noting, that you arent required to just service at a local level, you have the choice between a local level, a national level, or a military level. So you could help a community after a major disaster, or those in the military could serve our country for
Military is an establishment of a country and nation. There are a few different motivation behind why one may join the Military. Recently, Ive asked a few secondary school understudies for what good reason they anticipate inlisting in the military. Majority of their responses were cash for school , training and traveling. Those are suitable reasons yet many are undecided wheather to join the military after college or before college. With All things considered , it is by all means more valuable and beneficial to join the military before school instead of joining after school. One key defense would be that joining the military before school will help pay for ones
Unseen flaws that are counterintuitive to pros of mandatory military conscription. People place there thoughts on the concept based on number of pros and cons. However, the pros like the leadership/team skills learned, national unity, and protection are barely countable. How do you use the skills if you don’t survive service, loss them during rehabilitation, or don’t require them. If the community is suffering emotionally, and how do you bond over experiences if those who you shared them with doesn’t come back. If practically no one in the generation wants to be in service when there time requirement is reached. When the next generation is just reaching the draft age during a war, no soldiers will be there to protect. Or the majority of the generation in service has physical conditions, affecting the military capability. That's why the pros of
...datory military service can provide a way for people achieve a greater life. With the military young adult in need of a better environment would become improved in what ever those people were going to do in life. This will give people job opportunities and more dedication to life. A mandatory military service for all people between the ages of 18 and 24 would only bring good to society.
Most people have, at one point or another, considered what they were going to do with their lives. Whether a person would like to become an activist, an artisan or a business professional, the military has something for everyone. Finding a path in life is often filled with uncertainty and procrastination. The United States military is a path in itself, should one wish to retire from it; however, should a person wish to make their own path, there are benefits for that as well that can remove all doubt and curb procrastination. Due to these many benefits, I believe that it should be mandatory for all adults to enlist for a minimum of twenty-four months.
This country was founded on the thought of people getting to choose what they want to be, but mandatory military service defies the right to choose freely.
