The united states should not have mandatory military conscriptions. Mandatory military conscriptions have several cons that are counterintuitive. Conscription militaries are flawed with multiple cons. The pros after mandatory service are out weighted by a landslide. Mandatory military conscriptions have numerous flawed reasons.
Unseen flaws that are counterintuitive to pros of mandatory military conscription. People place there thoughts on the concept based on number of pros and cons. However, the pros like the leadership/team skills learned, national unity, and protection are barely countable. How do you use the skills if you don’t survive service, loss them during rehabilitation, or don’t require them. If the community is suffering emotionally, and how do you bond over experiences if those who you shared them with doesn’t come back. If practically no one in the generation wants to be in service when there time requirement is reached. When the next generation is just reaching the draft age during a war, no soldiers will be there to protect. Or the majority of the generation in service has physical conditions, affecting the military capability. That's why the pros of

mandatory military service are practically uncountable.
Mandatory military conscription armies are flawed for several reasons.

The training time for a unit that size would take to long. The resources, operation, and supply cost to run the army would be massive. People who have come out of service can require both physical and mental rehabilitation. Some even commit suicide do to their experiences. Also causing some people to develop mental or physical conditions during or after service. Those who have physical conditions can affect the armies capabilities along with those who have religion against killing. It requires those who are at their peak knowledge to service, making it hard to seek further education. The parents who have kids going into or in service, loss them in service or fear to lose them. Can lead to the protesting against the

government.
The benefits of mandatory service after serving are out weighted by a landslide. You gain leadership and teamwork skills, but how do you use them if you can’t get a job do to having to skip college. It builds national unity from shared experience, but how do you bond if you don’t like the things that you experience. Gets you to peak physical health in training, but what if you are hurt and need rehabilitation or your profession is a desk job. It increases army size, but most people don’t have the heart to do what they have to. That and it might require them to defy their religion. The time to train a whole age group might take too long. Also the country will lose a lot of money to military supplies, training and operations. The age your are enlisted is when you are at peak learning capability, making it harder to reach your profession.
