It was the start of the summer of 2009 and I just got done with my first year of middle school. From the first day of middle school I couldn’t wait to get off of school and start summer vacation and now the day is here. My family decided to take a vacation to Binghamton, which is in New York to visit my cousin. The car drive there was ten hours long and halfway on the trip we ran out of gas and was a couple of miles from the gas station so me and my dad and I had to walk there to get gas and come back to where the car was parked which made the car trip even longer and stressful. After that it was a smooth ride and we got to Binghamton in no time. Before the trip I had some saved up money that I got from mowing my neighbors and friends lawn and some allowance, which I took with the …show more content…
trip. I thought I would use it to buy some souvenir and some other cool stuff. When we finally got there I saw someone was begging for money and I felt sorry for him so I gave him five dollars and they were very happy. When I finally got to my cousin house I saw the same guy that was begging for money going to this house and wondered why he was going there. After doing some more investigation I found out that he lives there and I was shocked because I thought he didn’t have any money and he happily took my money. I didn’t really ask him if he was actually homeless or not so I just let it go. I also didn’t really mind giving money to someone that I think is homeless because they probably needed the money more then me, The next day I asked my cousin Kevin about the guy and he said he didn’t know much about about and him and said “He just a normal guy that wakes up the same time every morning and drives off and go to work and comes home at a certain time of day”. The next day I followed the guy with Kevin and see where he goes for the day and I was shocked when he was at the same place begging for money. Kevin was the one that was most shocked because it was his neighbor and thought he was just a normal guy. I told Kevin don’t judge him yet until you know his story so Kevin and I wanted to invest investigate more on the guy. Kevin and I were very curious about the guy so we followed him for the whole day and see what he does. The first thing the guy does was go to a McDonald to get some breakfast, which was normal enough. After that he goes to the same spot and starts begging away for money. I spied on the guy for 2 hours straight and at least thirty to forty people gave him money. I didn’t want to confront the guy but I felt the urge to ask him for my money back because he lived in a nice house and had a nice car. I brainstormed some idea about the guy and thought maybe he couldn’t keep up with his house payments and bills so he tried to beg for money to pay for them. Kevin said that’s impossible because “He always looks like he is going to work and then coming back home almost the same time exhausted. I then tried to look in the window of his house and he had a lot of luxury stuff, which most must most cost a fortune to get in his house and it didn’t look like he needed any extra money. He was also living alone and didn’t seem like he had any family at all. So it was about three days after that and I just forgot about it and tried to have fun in New York. I tried to do one of my summer goals, which was to volunteer at least 6 hour and do some community service at a local organization. So Kevin and I volunteered at a local soup kitchen, my job was to clean and wash all the dishes and be the busboy too and Kevin was to pass the food out to people. What shocked Kevin was that He saw his neighbor, which was the same guy that was begging for money in the soup kitchen. Kevin had a little conservation with him and he said “I was just short on money this month and I thought I could get some food here”. Kevin never asked why he was begging for money. It had been a week now and we were so curious about his life that waited until he left then looked at his mail to find out what his name was. We then try to search online and see if we can find any clues. After we found his Facebook page it seemed like he used to be a teacher and he had some kids. We were curious on where his kids were living. Then Kevin and I decided to finally ask him some questions and find out why he was begging for money even though he looked like he really didn’t need the money. I thought he was just selfish and wanted the money. It was early in the morning and we knocked on his door before he left on his usual schedule.
We told them that we knew he was panhandling and he told us to come in, so we did. The house looked nice with photos with his family and had lot’s of decorations, which makes him seem that he didn’t have any financial trouble. He told us that he had trouble paying for his utility bill and he had troubled finding a job. We asked him why he had troubling find a job and he tried to avoid that question and just said that he used to be a teacher and had to resign due to his own private reason. After that he said he didn’t have any time and had to go somewhere. So on we went home and we still were even more curious about the guy. We then tried to go to the spot where he was begging for money and didn’t see him there so we thought he was begging for money somewhere else. A couple hours later he was finally home and we knocked on his door but he wouldn’t answer so we went home and tried to not be that curious about him. I wanted to forget about him because I am so Kevin and me went to a public library, so I checked his name on Google and there was a court case about him and we were totally
shocked. In other word, we found out he was in federal prison for a couple years and found out that he was in jail for attempting to murder someone. We were shocked and didn’t know what to say about it. We also found out he was committing the crime on his wife, which would explain why he didn’t have any family member living with him right now. This also explains that it was hard for him to find a job and why he was forced to quit his job as a teacher. After that I felt like I would never trust another person in my life. So on, we went home that night and didn’t know what to do and tried to forget about what we just found out. Kevin wanted to move to a different state after founding out about this so I told him to calm down because he probably won’t do it again and already did time for his crime. Kevin and I then tried to enjoy the rest of the summer in peace and to forget about his neighbor. This shows that you can’t really know a person real self unless you go through a deep background check. After this experience I never really want to donate money to a street beggar or tried to be too nosey on someone else life.
It was the day of April 13, 2000. I woke up at exactly 12 o’clock because my boyfriend was to pick me up at 1 like we planned the night before. The day looked quite nice, but I was in a fowl mood. I got into a car accident the night before and had a huge argument with my parents about the car. I finally dragged myself into the shower and got ready in half an hour. Then I went downstairs, sat on my couch, and repeatedly told myself the day would hopefully turn out better than last night. At around 1:15, my boyfriend came to pick me up. We took the 5 freeway to the 57 since it was the only way I knew how to get there. As we approached the 134 freeway, my girlfriend veered to the right, taking the 210 which was wrong way and got us lost. So, we exited the freeway and got back on the right track. Then finally, before long, we reached Norton Simon.
It was a hot summer afternoon with the smell of fresh pizza out of the oven in the air just after lunch at around 4:30 pm when it happened. He was an African American man, about 5’9”. He looked and smelled as if he had not shaved or showered in months. He had on a stained navy blue button down shirt almost 2 sizes larger then him and wore saggy torn up pants which were held in place by a belt. As he asked for a cup of water I replied by saying all we had were bottled water and since it was not my store I had to have him pay for it. As I said this he began to get frustrated and started throwing whatever he could find to the ground then pushed over a large stand full of calzones causing it to come falling down and causing a huge mess. After being told that cops were on their way the man left the store and did not return for some time.
One summer morning, I woke up excited. My friends and I were going to Hershey Park. I’ve been busy this summer, so this is the first time I was able to go. Hershey Park is a big amusement park with big roller coasters and a big water park. The Fahrenheit is my favorite ride there. I woke up, took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, and waited for them to pick me up at my house. While I sat on my couch, I had my bag with a towel and a bathing suit for the water park and I could put my phone there. I was ready to go.
It was the summer of 2006 in late July after my sixth grade year at Harrold Middle School. My parents surprised my brothers and me by telling us that our family, including my grandparents and aunt’s family, would be traveling to Cook Forest in Clarion, PA. We had been to the beautiful state park of Cook Forest many times before. In previous years, we experienced great weather conditions, great water conditions, and lots of family fun. Our schedule this past year would include tubing for several miles down the Clarion River each day, taking a family hike, going out to dinner at the Farmer’s Inn, and playing goofy golf.
The ride to cedar point took a long time because we had to go all the way to Sandusky, Ohio, it took about 3-4 hours. During the ride it was kind of noisy and we had to wake up at 3am to be able to go, and i was very tired, so i tried to fall asleep and i did, but i woke up to the bus hitting a big bump and my face smacking the seat. After that i decided to stay awake throughout the rest of the bus ride there. Once we got into Ohio we drove a little bit and stopped
Last night was my 1st cross country meet this year! It was VERY fun and enjoyable, except for ride there. It took more than an HOUR to arrive at the meet. My team was very thrilled and happy to participate in this 1 mile meet. The rest of my meets will be 2 miles, since I'm in Middle School. I did pretty well, just like the rest of my team. We will hopefully do just as well, if not better in one of our upcoming meets. We have 5 more we compete in, as well as a daily practice after every school day. I LOVE running cross country, it is really fun and YOU should consider trying it
Summer is time for friends, relaxation, and memories, but my summer was none of that. Summer going into freshman year was not the best because of school. Well even before I went into high school I heard stories from my cousins and other students about bullying and being thrown a penny at because I would be freshman. I was frightened for a whole month before school started. I remember asking my cousin how did he deal with all of that in school and he said “just collect all the pennies and save them and let the bullies beat you up”. You might think i was overreacting unless if you heard the way he was saying it. Walking into the hallways of Buffalo grove high school scared and cautious I enter my classroom, looking left and right,
The weekend was finally here, the weekend we had all been waiting for. I was anxious sitting in my seat in my last class for the day, waiting for the bell to ring to let us out of Drake Middle School. This weekend was not just an ordinary weekend, but a very special one. This weekend was the weekend of Winter Retreat at Shocco Springs. The bell finally rang, and 100 seventh graders jumped out of their seats to hurry home to finish packing. As I was packing, I thought about this weekend and how much fun it was going to be. A weekend away from home spent with my best friends, yummy food, and of course the boys versus girls football game. My mom threw my suitcases in the back of the car and drove me and my friends to where the buses would arrive to take us to the retreat. When we got there we saw eight buses lined up in a row, taking 500 students away for the weekend. My heart started racing; seeing all the buses got me so excited for this weekend. I gave my mom a kiss on the check and hopped on the bus to find a good seat.
Have you wanted to travel almost all of the western US in a single summer? I did it in the summer of 2016 and it changed my perspective on the western U.S. When we got into Wyoming all I saw was rolling hills and plains. Nearby there were small groups of pronghorn eating the grass. In northern California, there were enormous redwoods, seals, and lots of rain. In San Francisco, there were lots of people and busy shops. In Arizona, the Grand Canyon was much bigger than I expected.
My names Chase Tate i'm 14 years old, 6 feet 3 inches and go to grey hawk middle school. I get in trouble a lot at school Teachers want to send me to an alternative school were the worst of them all go to There was kids all ages there up to 18.I Don't think I should go to this school but my parents agree with them so I have to go.My mom and dad drive me it's was a long drive it took 6 hours. We finally made it and I don't want to get out of the car. The place was terrifying it had gated fences like a prison.
When I was eight years old my mom and my dad separated. so I didn’t get to see him for a couple of years, so I found out that he was in Mexico because he got deported from the USA. So my mom was talking about going to visit him for a couple of days. So my grandpa and my grandma were sad because we were going to Mexico for the first time and they were concern about us going outside the USA for the first time with my sister’s. and we decide to go the next day. So we said by to all my family and friends the same night. So it was the next morning and we got in the car and derived from Flagstaff to the Phoenix airport and the flight was at 10 am so we were late to the gate but we got on. And couple of hours later we get into manzanillo Colima. And my dad was wading for us at the airport so I was really happy to see my dad so we went to the house to setter in and my mom lost the plane ticket so now we can’t go back to the USA and now were stuck Mexico and my family didn’t have money to send to buy more tickets to go back home. So a couple of month later we start school and it was ghetto school I have ever been to and I was scared for my life.
It was Tuesday and the day was draining away. I wanted to go buy new hair dye, but I knew it was too late. Careless, I got money from my piggy bank and asked my little sister Natalie to come along. I usually go out by myself but I decided to take her to feel more safe. Since my parents were not home yet I had to make this trip quick, so we took the bus.
Once i was 7 years i was in 2nd grade and i was a troublemaker and i was always disrespectful to all the teachers. So, then the teachers were talking to why do you talk too much and i was like i don’t now it is just in my blood. So, i tried my best not to get in trouble because i want to have a bad year.
I was so ecstatic to go on this field trip and so was everyone else. Of course I knew why, everyone loves field trips. Everyone that had seen the one man show reported that it was impeccable performance. Furthermore, I was adrenalized because I didn’t have to do any work. Before the show, all I thought was that it would be a normal bus ride. One that would be loud, but everyone minded their own business.
It all started with just one road trip that changed my thought about how road trips could be a horrible experience. Over the summer my family and I were going on a road trip to Canada, but many things had happened to us. Before we head to Canada, we had to go to the airport to pick up some of my family members that came from India. So on a friday night, around twelve o’clock we went to the airport to pick them up. When we got there we meet each other and then left the airport. That’s when the road trip started.
