Bumper boats are stupid. Or so I thought. A complete waste of time and money. Seriously, who wants to buzz around in a poorly constructed piece of scrap metal surrounded by rubber for clueless little children? These were my thoughts until one of the weirdest and most hilarious events occurred a few summers ago. Then my opinion of bumper boats immediately changed. It was the summer of 2006 in late July after my sixth grade year at Harrold Middle School. My parents surprised my brothers and me by telling us that our family, including my grandparents and aunt’s family, would be traveling to Cook Forest in Clarion, PA. We had been to the beautiful state park of Cook Forest many times before. In previous years, we experienced great weather conditions, great water conditions, and lots of family fun. Our schedule this past year would include tubing for several miles down the Clarion River each day, taking a family hike, going out to dinner at the Farmer’s Inn, and playing goofy golf. In previous years we had also included go-karts in our schedule. One year, my brother, cousin, and I even tried out the bumper boats at the fun center. They were nothing spectacular but were okay. Smart family we are, we were dressed in nice “out-to-dinner” clothes, nice kaki pants or shorts, and fancy shirts, when we arrived at the Family Fun Center. As I stepped out of the car, I heard the roaring and zipping of the midnight black go-karts, fueling my adrenaline. The water on the goofy golf course trickled down through the stones, passing a family of golfers lined up on hole number fourteen. The bright, summer sun shone on the water of the bumper boat pool creating a watery reflection on the faces of the employees. My cousin and I raced ahead to t... ... middle of paper ... ...oss the pool, and all of the fountains stopped flowing water. Finally, the boat slid slowly to the water’s surface and my terrified family all raced to the side to get out as soon as possible. (I was the last one out due to the fact that my engine had died). The employees were left speechless. The one employee was so awed by the previous chaos, he almost forgot to open the gate and allow us to escape the horror of the bumper boats. Today our family likes to announce, “We completely destroyed that place! They probably would recognize us and never let us back again!” As a theme to this story, bumper boats will surpass your expectations. These so called “harmless” vehicles can transform suddenly into death machines. To our surprise, the employees allowed us back this past year where we, again, unleashed the wrath of the bumper boats. I guess we never learn.
The USS Indianapolis was a heavy cruiser. She did not have heavy armor which made her vulnerable to torpedo attacks. She had been ordered to sail on July 16, 1945, to deliver a bomb that would end the war. Unfortunately, it sank before it arrived.
Later on as they were driving the two motorcyclists tormented their vehicle throwing bottles and shooting their guns. Eventually they crashed their car and had to run to the woods and hide out from the rowdy boys. They chose to hide under a dock. The dog would not be quiet so the Grandma had to drown him. The boys never found the girl and Grandma. The frightening experience strengthened the bond between the Grandma and girl ( Hood 121- 129).
One mistake follows another; the narrator faced probable and actual consequences leading up to a revelatory moment: the discovery of a floating body in the Lake. This moment breaks and transforms him. “My car was wrecked;
Parents always worry about thier teens driving especially in a non safe state. A floriduh driver’s guide for my teen with a learners permit by Dave Barry explains to his daughter that she might come across crazy drivers. Also, Dave barry writes a guide how there's many reckless drivers on the road and surprised that they even passed. Many parents are worried about their teens getting out on the road. A floriduh drivers guide for my teen with a learners by Dave Barry shows high comedy by using sarcasm and irony to convey that many parents are worried about teens getting out on the road.
Now let me take you back to my 10th grade year of high school, Its August, so the school year has barely set in. Yet my mind was already racing. It was time to go to Six Flags "Georgia’s most notable theme park". This year was nothing special though, because I planned on it being no different from any other time I went. I usually don’t do anything out of my comfort zone. My mission was to just chill, have fun, and socialize. I intended casually observing the park attendees because Six Flags draws in an array of different personalities. One thing I couldn’t do, though was listen to my Mom complain to my Dad that she’s ready to go, so I normally veered off to avoid hearing it. That usually led to me just wandering
“CRASH”!!! A gargantuan wave appeared and thrashed against the boat causing the boat to flip upside down, leaving Scoot trapped inside and Sully helpless. “Life isn’t fair” as Sully cried out in horror hoping that it would have been him instead!
“August 2000, our family of six was on the way to a wedding. It was a rainy day, and Gregg was not familiar with the area. The car hit standing water in the high-way, and started hydro-planing. Greg lost control of the car. Then, the car went backwards down into a ditch and started sliding on its wheels sideways. After sliding for 100 feet or so, the car flipped, at least once. After flipping, the car came to rest on its wheels, and the passenger window broke out.
It was a warm rainy June night the humidity was high which made it even harder to breathe on the crammed boat. My family was asleep on the constantly rocking boat suddenly the boat shook, but my family was still fast asleep. I couldn’t seem to fall asleep so I got up and stepped out on the cold wet steel boats upper deck to get some air. When I got outside I realized that it was pouring bucket sized rain. I saw increasingly large waves crash furiously against the lower deck. Hard water droplets pelted my face, I could taste the salt water in my mouth from the spray of the ocean. Suddenly A massive wave slammed hard against the ship and almost swallowed the boat. Wind gusts started kicking up. I held onto the rail grasping it as if it were my prized possession. Suddenly I was blown
The small legs that whisked back and forth in the open space of the vehicle were full of energy. The young girl spent the day with the two people she admired the most. A bigger version of herself sat in the passenger seat with her husband driving next to her. They laughed over conversation. Every so often, the girl would stick thin fingers against her mother’s shoulder to receive her attention. She would say something trivial and obvious, but her mother would still entertain her. She absorbed every phrase her daughter said as if each filled her with a tremendous joy and was the greatest thing ever spoken. Her mother had selected a black dress for her today with a large white ribbon tied around her midsection. Her hair had been combed back in two braids so that the tips were touching her shoulder blades. They were coming home late from a Christmas party at church.
It was my birthday and mom had planned for me to go to Six Flags. My birthday is March 21st, it was spring, so it was getting hot outside. I didn’t like it but why not go to Six Flags on a hot and sunny day. I brought some of my friends with me because who wants to be at Six Flags with no one at Six Flags with you. I brought a friend from school named Jeremiah and my cousin named Jeremy. Jeremy slept over at my house and
I made my way quickly to the top deck again so that I could try to make it onto a lifeboat. The only people left on the ship were men, who were sitting on the floor, crying. I asked a man what was happening, and why everybody was crying.

It was in July, and we wanted to go camping. I asked my dad if we could go up to our family's cabin in Elk Springs, which is near Montrose. He agreed, so Chase, Tyler and I, all sixteen years old, packed our stuff and were ready to go camping. With excitement, we jumped into Chase's truck, and took off to the woods.
...e became more and more overcome with suspense and anticipation. Before we plunged to the bottom, we noticed a kayak broken in two pieces. It had been caused by a collision with a boulder, at the bottom of the fall. We were scared to death, because we thought we would hit it and flip over. However, with the help of our fast-thinking and skillful guide, we were able to make it down the fall safely. All the action was over, so we let out a sigh of relief and allowed our nerves to relax.
It was the second semester of fourth grade year. My parents had recently bought a new house in a nice quite neighborhood. I was ecstatic I always wanted to move to a new house. I was tired of my old home since I had already explored every corner, nook, and cranny. The moment I realized I would have to leave my old friends behind was one of the most devastating moments of my life. I didn’t want to switch schools and make new friends. Yet at the same time was an interesting new experience.
