It was a bone-chilling winter morning in Bavaria. My alarm clock rang, and I slapped it to snooze. Oh no, I was not getting up that day. I had just finished the worst school week of my life. If we zoom back to that time two years ago, I was a 14 year old foreign exchange student in southern Germany. Bullying from the kids in school had made my homesickness unbearable. But that’s not all. I eventually became so anxious throughout my exchange that I chewed all the skin around my nails, gained 15 pounds, and finally, had to book my flight back home January 1st.

She was in an accident and she thought she was never gonna be able to ride her horses again and not even barrel race. But Snyder never gave up. She knew that if she gave up, she would never be happy again. She didn't not gave up. She helped work with her horses to make it so she could ride again. She practiced very hard in order for her to barrel race again. She never gave up. She thought about giving up, but she never gave up.

...re are fifty boats in our race, and we got third, now that's not too bad for a busted fin." This did not seem to help, however, as there was no apparent response. "I don't know about you all, but after this, it just makes me want to bust by butt during the off-season to come back here in the Spring and kill them all!" Slowly, but surely, everyone's heads raised. I realized that this was not the end at all. We made a pact to work our hardest to come back in the Spring and win out as much as possible. As the commotion settled, Chris quieted us down, "Okay, come on guys." He put his hand in the middle of the circle. We all followed his lead. "We will not let an unfortunate accident get in our way! We will not settle for third place!" With that we all threw our hands up into the air. I looked around and smelled the breeze. Suddenly it was the best feeling in the world.

Today I finished observing all the scaffolds using the SEM Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The end goal for the non-toxic (being tested today) scaffolds is to be use as a temporary bone until the bone repairs. Then the scaffold should degrade until the bone heals properly. Also, the scaffold has to be strong, so it doesn’t break or collapse in the body that was the purpose of the mechanical testing. We have to know every properties of the scaffolds to make the scaffolds are good to be put in the body .Today we will begin testing whether the scaffold is toxic for the cells because the human body is made up of cells. We don’t want to damage the human cells. We will first use animal cells and then we will move on to human cells if the scaffolds
