My opinion on this matter is rather straight forward. You may know that in High school and even middle school sports team don't have mixed gender teams where boy's and girls could play together on the same team like they did when they were younger. I think we should have a mixed gender team. First let me start out by saying that there would be more room if boys and girls played on the same team. With this being said your school could build a new courtyard with a fountain in the middle or a new P.E gym where you can go let loose energy. The new found room from letting boys and girls play on the same team would be a decent sized place. Secondly I believe that if girls and boys could play together it would limit the drama that is never non-existing
The Varsity team lost to the JV team because they did not work together as team. Though the Varsity team consisted of high performing individuals for speed, strength, and endurance but together they lacked the cohesiveness to perform as a single unit. Also among them there were a lot of internal conflicts cropping up like blaming each other, lack of trust and confidence in the ability of others etc., which were not identified, or resolved at appropriate time. Each one did not believe he was working as a part of the team; rather they tried to maximize their individual capabilities alone. In addition the Varsity team lacked a strong leader, mostly people were disruptors.
Coed sports have been argued for many years. There have been many examples in today's sports that support the idea of coed sports. Some have already even taken actions to do so. An example of these actions is, the girl who pitched in a Little League World Series game. Sports should be coed because they promote gender equality, build friendships, and increase self-confidence and pride. When boys and girls play together in sports it makes the competition more exciting to watch.
Tannen does a great job linking the differences in communication and her points do feed into and support one another. She argues that boys play with a hierarchal structure and often play games that have winners and losers, while girls tend to play in small groups doing activities that do not have winners or losers. However, beyond statements and description there was very little evidence to back either of these. I also found myself
Tannen observed that communication begins with children. While a child grows they learn to speak from their parents and peers. Boy and girls may grow up within the same household but learn to communicate differently with each other. In groups children often play with the same sex: i.e. girls with girls, boys with boys. Although Tannen did a study on communication between men and women, she started with the interactions and communication of children. Her study concludes boys tend to play outside within large groups usually playing: sports, army, or cops and robbers. One boy in the group tends to take control, over the rest of the members, making him the leader. Meanwhile, girls play in smaller groups or pairs playing: house or dolls. This type of playing gives girls equality to ensure they will make a best friend. Tannen points out boys style of communication is more competitive arguing over who is the winner opposed to who is the loser, while the girls are less competitive by trying to make suggestions and compromise with others.
In the world of sports it started off that girls could never play sports and then in 1972 a public law called Title IX came to existence which allowed girls to play sports but not with boys. Today the question is asked should girls play on boys’ sports teams? One would think that girls should not play with boys on a sports team because boys are just naturally taller and stronger than women and they would dominate the girls in a fully contact sport. Another may think that if a girl is truly capable to play on an all boys’ sports team, then she should not be denied the opportunity to try out for an all boys’ team. Some other people may believe that sports at younger ages should remain co-ed because boys and girls body types are still similar, but once boys and girls are in high school sports should separate based on gender. Females and Males are equal but not in physical stature, having a girl on an all boys team will negatively change the dynamics/flow of a game, having the best girl player on an all boy’s team will hurt the girls’ sports teams. So sports should strictly stay separated between males and females.
I?m just going to cut to the chase women should be treated equal! They should be able to play men?s sports! Everyone says and thinks ?oh no women aren?t as athletic as men or the men aren?t as athletic as the women? it isn?t about athleticism it?s about who is working harder than the other. I?m going to give you an example of one that talks about the sport of cricket. People in cricket have proven that the game is 20% power and that also is mixed in with injuries and such and the rest of the percent is all technique (Lawson). Another sport that I can think of that doesn?t let women compete against men is in track. There are girl?s out there that are faster, can jump higher, and some can even throw farther then some men (Brustad). An example of a very fast girl that could beat some men at least is Lolo Jones! You can?t compare her to like Usain Bolt because nobody is faster than him in the world. Lolo is very fast and she is also a
There are two different viewpoints on this issue. Some people simply think there can be gender integrated sports, while others think gender segregated sports are better. Deborah Brake explains arguments for and against segregated sports teams. Some of the concepts brought up for having gender integrated sports teams is that having separate sports teams would send out a message that women are less than men. Integrated sports teams accommodate both genders and abilities.
I believe schools should not force students to participate in organized sports. Medical conditions, such as asthma, prevent students from being able to participate. Family situations may leave the student with no ride to or from practice. Students may not have time to be able to
Girls On Boys Sports Teams Have you ever known a girl who has played on a boys sports team? Do you think that it is a good idea or not for girls to play on boys sport teams? I believe that girls should be allowed to play on boys sport teams. Some women have just as much or more skill then a guy does at that sport.
Wylie High School Volleyball Team (08/12-12/14), 25 hours per week during volleyball season, 15 hours per week during off-season, total hours: 1,040. I earned the 9th Grade Sportsmanship Award and the Sports Award for being a positive player and for helping at a camp we hosted.
Although many people think we should have girls and boys playing on the same team all together. In my opinion I think it's a bad idea and that there will be more injuries on the field than most the time bc most girls in high school aren't as tough as the guys so this is my reasoning.
Girls and boys should not play on the the same team for sports because boys are typically stronger, both genders wouldn't get as much playing time, and drama could be produced.
We live in a society were acceptance becomes our main focus and this can sometimes cloud our judgement on what is fair. When sports began to have high school, college, and professional levels, it was done with gender segregation. This was so there was a sense of fairness because without this guideline women would have no role in professional sports, but now we live in a generation where some men identify as women and some women identify as men. Although there is no wrong with such a gender expression it is a complication when it comes to sports. The simplicity of it is that transgender women would have major advantages over cis women which creates an element of unfairness and defeats the purpose of gender segregation in sports.
Why should women be able to be on boys sports teams? I feel this topic is very important in our society. Society should be for females playing male sports because they have our equal rights. I feel that men and women can have the same sports for many reasons, everyone's equal rights, the fact that women aren't all structured the same; There is a danger in playing with boys. Everyone's body structure can be used as and for different things in various different sports. Is changing sports for girls really fair?
Many schools and associations don’t even have girls teams, so if girls were allowed to play on a male team they would have way more opportunities to play sports. There are also many non-elite girl sport teams, which gives the girls who are at a more competitive level no chance to improve. Also many girls do not have the chance to play on sports teams, because they think it is ‘un-cool’ or they don’t even think girls sports exist. If you think about it, do you know as many famous female athletes as you know male athletes? That’s right, nobody knows many female sports stars. I’m also guessing that you don’t know the girls association that is the equivalent of the National Football League or The National Basketball Association. That’s right, they aren’t popular. Also girls may not have the chances because their girls teams don’t need the skills they have, but the boys may need this skill on their team. By not accepting the female, the male team is at a loss. Also the girl may be too good for their team, and need to join the boys in order to furthermore their skills set, yet they will not be permitted to play. We need to stop these downfalls, in the end we all are just
