Metro Radio Rant English Assessment Have you been late for the metro, on certain occasions, or has the metro had maintenance, casually most of the time, well I am here to discuss this problem and give my own personal opinions and experiences. My first key highlight of the ‘trusty and reliable’ service would have to be that the metro timetable is extremely un-reliable and outdated due to the metros un-weary maintenance service and their ‘caring’ service schedules i.e. in the middle of Christmas when sales are taken place. Their timetables placed at the ‘lavish’ metro stations are outdated and outlandish as the timetables don’t even represent the actual daily schedule of the metros and that the timetables don ‘t correspond with anything related …show more content…
But the general part of the metro i.e. price is the most aggravating as that a daysaver ticket for the general public (over 18) costs around £4.85and that’s for one day, can you believe it but in the average month a member of the general public will approximately spend around £250 per month on purely just metro tickets. For myself it costs me 80p for a single ticket even though I have to travel two stops to get to my destination every morning, the worst thing is, is that if you are caught without a metro ticket you will be stopped by a nexus employed metro ticket inspector and as you are caught they supposedly ‘have the right’ to refuse you from leaving even though nexus themselves and the police made an abidance so that the ticket inspectors cannot have contact with you any form unless a police officer intervenes. I have once been purposely stopped by a ticket inspector before, as I walked down the ramp towards the ticket machine, I realised that I didn’t have any money for the metro so I thought I would risk it, or I would have been stuck there for hours as the metro everyone at the platform got one and all of these people hadn’t bought tickets as that’s the type of people they are. And as I got one the metro and sat down I was forcefully intervened from getting of
Growing up in a more privileged environment things may come easier to one. But one should not be surprised of those that are in a less fortunate situation that are not able to reach certain heights, compared to someone from a more privileged back ground. Even if one is not in the best environment, they are able to make a choice to keep fighting for a better life. In the podcast “Three Miles” that is exactly the attitude described from a girl name Raquel, on the other hand Melanie froze her life doing what she thought she deserved. Though Raquel and Melanie had similar backgrounds in that they were raised in the same poor neighborhood and attended the same indigent high school, in the end Raquel was able to succeed in her life after getting denied a Posse scholarship, whereas Melanie worked in a supermarket for ten years, feeling that was as good as it was going to get.

Starting a brand-new journey in my life I have recently, taking new employment in Chicago, this has inclined me an opportunity to examine the city in an incomprehensive contemporary way. Over the years, I have had an opportunity to visit Chicago numerous times to sightseeing, or shopping and dine, but never on a regularly daily basis. As a brand-new adventure, I am absorbing all of my brand-new surroundings, which includes the diversity that the city has to offer including its individuals. I am finding myself fascinated by all of the diversity leaving me with numerous questions. Nevertheless, each day starts with an hour ride on the South Shore train from Northwest Indiana to Chicago. The train commute alone is complete of much diversity, watching numinous individuals interact with one another. All of the commuters are heading in an equal direction as me mostly to work, go to school or perhaps to visit.
The idea that was tested in New York’s subway was that of order maintenance. This idea was linked to the broken windows theory. A broken window left unattended was a sign nobody cared and led to more serious damages and crime. Like this, minor offenses not dealt with by the police led people to believe no one cared and led to more serious crime and basically a downward spiral of urban decay (Kelling, Bratton, 1998). The idea of fixing this broken window theory was the basis for the tactics first implement in New York’s subway. It is important to take a brief look at New York subway system and how order maintenance was used so that we can look at further how it was applied to the rest of New York City. In the 1980s New York’s subway was a dreaded place and usage numbers were in decline. Fare beaters were common, robberies were often and homelessness and begging greeted commuters from the entrance to t...

I have selected to listen to CBS (101.1) FM and WNYC (820) AM. CBS FM is considered to be a commercial radio station, were as WNYC is a public radio station. These are two entirely different radio stations, which I've selected to listen to for my assignment. In this essay, I will discuss the format of the stations, how they affect me personally, and the use of productions of each station.
My field of study is at Pennsylvania Station particularly the NJ Transit Terminal. Penn Station is located on the west side of Manhattan between 7th and 8th Avenue and between 31st and 34th Street. Penn Stations main entrance is how most people get to the terminal but NJ transit has its own entrance is at the corner of 31st street and 7th Avenue. I arrived at the station on a Friday night around 7 p.m. and I left around 9 P.M. I chose his time because it is towards the end of rush hour which allowed me to observe the different types of commuters and people occupying the space.

The research has provided a clear picture consisting of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Research by FitzGerald (1999) consisted of a range of interviews, focal point being London, with young people, community workers and police officers. After analysing the interviews, it was clear that the main area of concern, for young people, was the police officer’s behaviour and attitudes during the stop and search. They emphasised the significance of respect between officer and those being searched and to offer an explanation as to why they were being stopped in the first place. Also in the study, it was acknowledged by police officers and young people that individuals being searched could often show traits of hostility towards the officers.
Did you know that radio waves travel at 189,000 miles per second? Throughout its long life career, radio has always had a close relationship with sports. Today sports radio continues to be an important media in the athletic culture. Even with the giant, which is sports itself today, sports radio is still one of the most popular, reliable and convenient ways to listen to live games, hear scores, or even listen to sports talk shows. This paper will cover three big subjects that relate to sports radio and just radio itself. These subjects are history of radio, evolution of radio, and last but not least the future of the radio.
Talk Radio In Talk Radio, Oliver Stone brings together all venues of filmmaking to capture the story he wants to tell. With tremendous collaboration from the DP, the production designer, the writer, and the performers, Stone calculated a tight, moving film in high style. Beginning with the script, Stone and Bogosian formed a laborious respect in the nature of the piece. They each understood the underlying theme that Barry repeats over and over again. “If you don’t like it, why don’t you turn it off?”

transportation costs can amount to an average of $1200 a year when purchasing a metro
It is quite expensive if you just use public transport now and again but if you use it regularly there are savings to be made. Season tickets and buying weekly tickets can save you quite a bit of money and also add to the convenience as you don’t need to make sure you have the correct change on you all the time.
