Introduction:
Little has been published about mental health promotion for young disabled people. The objective of this assignment is to produce a health promotion leaflet developed to support young disabled people alongside mental health issues. This assignment will be divided into two parts, Part one will explore aspects of some of the different forms of mental health issues and highlight some of the discrepancies that are faced among young disabled people.
Part two will explore the role of the health facilitor; and discuss some of the rationale in supporting the implementation of health promotion towards young disabled people.

There is strong evidence to show that young disabled people have poorer physical health and have higher risk of developing mental health problems compared to their non-disabled peers. Discrepancy in health has shown that lack of health promotion and information is greater among the young disabled population these discrepancies are outlined above. The health facilitor feels without the enhancement of health promotion campaigns these issues would go on notices and many young disabled people and their families would lose out.
