To whom it concerns, I’m applying for the Mechanical Engineering Internship at the Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth. I am a first-year student at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and I’m pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I believe that I am one of the most qualified candidates for the internship, I fulfil the only basic requirement of pursuing a degree in the Mechanical or Aerospace fields and I have acquired some of the desired skills like having basic knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and work measurements with work standards, demonstrating effective interpersonal and collaboration skills in a team environment, as well as being proficient in Microsoft Office. With these skills and mindset, I see myself bringing only an immense benefit to Lockheed Martin. The basic lean manufacturing techniques I have been developing since I was a child. Making parts and finding ways to fix things has always been an inherent ability of mine. I remember once I had no way to change stripped screws without a screwdriver, so I melted a pen down and made a mold by placing it on the screw and then put it in ice water to solidify the mold and then I used it for a couple years till it wore down and broke. …show more content…
This program had many benefits; one being teamwork, all major projects wherein groups and everyone had to document every step of the project daily. 2 of the big projects I did where a vex coding robot that sorted marbles by size, color, and opacity. Another was a library project where a team designed and blueprinted a library with a way to commercialize
An overview of the program/service What is the history of the program? Why it was created? • When it was created? Who provided the impetus (motivation) for its creation?
My personal motivation for applying to the HACU internship program is that I want to be exposed to a real work environment while still in college. Working with an organization on projects with real-world impact would be an eye-opening and valuable experience that would help me greatly in choosing and carrying out my future academic and career goals. I know that my college courses have prepared me well to contribute with analytical skills to any organization. Thus, I would be excited to get an internship opportunity with a government or corporate sector organization, allowing me to expand the skillset and knowledge that I have gained in my college courses and labs. On top of that, getting an internship would be an adventure and a great way to gain new skills.
Hi Rhonda – As a follow-up to our discussion earlier this week, we have reviewed the proposals and HQ Maintenance would like to move forward with 4 of the 5 proposed research interns for the upcoming recruitment. The one we would like to defer is item 5 (which is actually covered in item 4). We believe that the intern hired to help us with the Asset Management effort on cable guardrail, end treatments, and culver guardrail could best be accomplished by having one intern team up with regional field staff to complete this task. Given this modification, we have available funding and FTEs. However, as discussed, if an additional FTE is needed to supplement your T Program FTEs, please let us know as we could accommodate that through the M Program.
My core competency is analytical thinking. Relating this to my Industrial Engineering course, I believe that my core competency lies within the field of Lean Manufacturing. I believe that I have the ability to solve problems in a quick and effective manner. I am able to identify issues, and areas for improvement, by analyzing relevant information no matter how complex the problems are. I follow an approach where I look at a complex system, such a production system, and break the system down into simpler, more understandable components. With this, I am able to devise and recommend potential solutions to the identified problems in the system. The Lean approach is a method used to find inefficiencies in the system in order to eliminate non-value adding work. I am very ardent about Lean Manufacturing because I strongly believe in continuous improvement, and I
The goal was to get students more civically involved in the future. The program had many positive results. As the children grew up, they were more aware of civic issues and sought
Like many application essays, I am sure you have seen a million times, I am compassionate for others and I have always had a good eye for detail, which I am sure will help me greatly in this career but
Essentially, this project taught me about social media advertising, as well as advertising in general. It taught me how to create a comedy album, from the set-up, to the event itself, as well as post-production. This project gave me a very well rounded experience that will help me in many of my future endeavors. I feel that very few people can say that have a knowledge like this, and I think it will prove to be beneficial in the future.
Before the internship, I thought judges were of course humans, but I was hoping they were nice. I thought it was going to be a bit intimidating, but I knew I looked up and aspired their profession. It was like the day I was going to meet my judge I was so nervous, yet I looked forward to it. I remember I was surprised different Judges would run their courtrooms differently. I thought they would kind of have a similar system for things, which they sort of do, but not completely. Generally speaking, the Judges are great individuals and are very unique. Most of the Judges have lived pretty interesting lives and seem to enjoy their jobs. The Judges seem to be very knowledgeable, and very considerate of the Jury, court reporters, and their clerks. The judges of course seem neutral when in front of the jury as expected. For example, Judge Lippitt, does not allow anytime to speak over each other in her court room she is always saying that they have to be respectful there is a human being recording this, referring to the court reporter. Then, she is very considerate of the Jury and their time, she will tell them the trial is longer at times to make them happy if it ends early. Further, Judge Lippitt really cares about the jury instructions and that they are as neutral as possible. Something I have learned from Judge Lippitt, is that you have to be very careful as a judge to notice when attorney’s are acting a little suspicious. Another very significant lesson I have learned from Judge Lippitt is that preparedness and awareness is really important.
I have been building ever since I was a little boy. Whether it was legos or go karts, I have always been building. When I graduate from Umass Lowell I want to be an engineer. I am currently in the mechanical engineering program at Umass Lowell. The reason I chose to study mechanical engineering was that I have found a deep love for watches. When I graduate I hope to work as a watchmaker or watch designer. I want to design the movements, faces, cases and straps of watches. I know that this is a hard profession to break into but nobody ever got to be where they wanted if they turned back at the first sight of adversity.
My intense passion for learning has shifted my life in a new and positive direction. I feel that my personal experiences and challenges have served as a basis for growth and preparation for a life of helping others. This is why I have worked so hard to complete my undergraduate education despite my many responsibilities. I believe that this makes me a great candidate for this program. I am a diligent and attentive person who deeply cares for others in need. I feel that everything that has brought me to where I am today has shaped my life and will make me a great social worker. I want to thank you very much for considering my application for the master of social work program.
Providing tangible content makes a program more credible and likely to be considered. By continuing to release valuable information about on-going projects and initiatives that students are undergoing, potential clients will be more convinced that the participants are experienced and dedicated. As a result, the program’s reputation and public relations will significantly improve as non-profits begin to favor Dyson. The website can even explain how certain Dyson classes such as Agricultural and Food Policy prepare students for the Grand Challenges program. For example, that class provides students with key interpretation and analysis skills regarding agriculture subsidies which can be used in a project involving food insecurity.
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
My lab work in chemistry, and biology labs has taught me lab techniques involving measuring and interpreting, calorimetry, gas chromatography, properties of chemicals, metabolic rates, and cell microscopy. I feel the technical skills I have acquired through my studies in chemistry and biology laboratories would translate well to this intern position. I am a quick learner and am eager to expand upon these research techniques and acquire new ones. In addition, through my biomechanical and electrical engineering course work I have learned how to work with my colleagues to design, and execute experiments that solve difficult engineering problems.
My mentor name was David Joe Ursy. He works for Joe McGee Construction. He works for Joe McGee on the farm portion of his business. He works on tractors, combines, welding, and farming crops. He has been working for Joe McGee for 20-30 years. To me it's fun and interesting. I like to do it some people don’t like it. When we started working on my project, I cleaned all the metal with a wire brush. Once I got it all the metal cleaned of rust, I started making the top after I got the top like I wanted it, I welded it and put all the nuts and bolts inside the table. I checked to see how it looked and took them out. I cleaned the camshaft and welded it to the flexplate.
My career plan is to go into mechanical engineering. A mechanical engineer is the person who designs and make machines like generators. Engineering is a difficult and competitive field. Engineering requires a bachelor's degree and a good understanding of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math). I would have to pass an engineering exam to get my license. Some school near me that offer the degree I want are Michigan, Michigan State, Michigan Tech, and Western Michigan.
