“Effort” a word that is commonly heard and used, however, what does effort really mean? You can ask millions of people that question and get millions of different answers. Effort is foreseen differently by every single person, but are characterized similarly. The dictionary definition of effort is a vigorous attempt or determined attempt. Effort is not doing a job or task halfhearted and stating that effort put in when in reality there was no effort. Effort is a part of our lives every day and has been ever since we were born. To truly use effort, it means to use it physically, mentally, and to have dedication. To begin, effort involves being physical. Many people articulate that they are going to do something, but end up saying “oh I’ll do it tomorrow” then tomorrow comes and the …show more content…
Physical effort comprises getting up and moving around to complete your goal. Primarily, effort begins with being physical and always moving forward. What comes to mind when thinking about physical effort is my mother. Specifically, my mother is from Mexico, she lived a ghastly life there. She had already my older brother, and at the time she was pregnant with me. Identical to every mother in the world, she desired the best for us, but she just didn’t see a bright future for us in Mexico. Thus, my mother decided to go to the United States knowing that the journey would be dreadful. My mom was full of perseverance and used of lots of physical effort to give her kids a better life. Furthermore, my mother used all the physical effort she had with her while pregnant. As an illustration, my mother had to walk many miles on a desert-like terrain and even had to go barefoot for a while after going through a river with currents that felt like a hurricane, after that swim she just took off her shoes because they

Procrastination in terms of weakness of will has only been recently discussed in philosophical discourse. According to Richard Holton, weakness of will or the lack of willpower is defined as acting against one’s values or when one is too easily able to reconsider their intentions. Procrastination, by definition, is the act of avoiding completing tasks often until rearing that deadline. Procrastination has commonly been viewed as irrational and has held a negative connotation, partly due to being considered a willful act by an individual. Procrastination, like other aspects that resemble a lack of willpower, is naturally attached to the concept of weakness of will by not only laymen, but also theorists and philosophers. Only recently has procrastination
My life has been full of things that I have been putting off, just because it is not an official deadline does not make it any less necessary. There are so many things that need doing, and so little time to do them all, why does getting something done seem so difficult? I am consistently busy with things that have to be done, and yet I am truly incapable of doing what needs done. There are a number of reasons for procrastination that are truly valid reasons, but identifying the problem and taking control is a necessary evil, finding the motivation to do it is the real issue. That is the question of the ages really, the book Human Motivation by Robert Franken points out that motivation, what it is, where it comes from, how to encourage it etc.

As human beings it is difficult for us to efficiently conduct a task that is not of our interest. Although most, if not all, of us want to succeed in our endeavors, such is often difficult when the task is one we seldom care about. This is where the concept of motivation comes into play. As per the class textbook, motivation is defined as “The processes that account for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal.”(Robbins & Judge, 2013, p. 202). Motivation plays a huge factor in how intensely and efficiently an employee goes about performing a task.
When people include themselves in multiple activities at one time, this is exertion. “You can’t hang with the hares, and hunt with the hounds” is a commonly used proverb, yet many do not know what it means. Many times we hear something and then say it without actually knowing the true definition of the word or phrase. This commonly used phrase is said to indirectly let you know, that it is too hard to do two things at once. Like multitasking, “You can’t hang with the hares, and hunt with the hounds.” is stating that too much involvement is not necessarily the best thing for us. A lot of times we push ourselves to do too many things at once. Putting in tons of effort all of the time can really put a strain on a person, and tear them apart as a whole. Too much involvement is not a good thing, but nor is it a bad thing
Hard work is challenging work. But why does it have to be challenging work? Because challenging work, when intelligently chosen, pays off. It’s the work that people of lesser character will avoid. And if you infer that I’m saying people who avoid challenging work have a character flaw, you’re right… and a serious one at that. If you avoid challenging work, you avoid doing what it takes to succeed. To keep your muscles strong or your mind sharp, you need to challenge them. To do only what’s easy will lead to physical and mental flabbiness and very mediocre results, followed by a great deal of time and effort spent justifying why such flabbiness is OK, instead of stepping up and taking on some real challenges.

People all procrastinate at one time or another. Procrastination is the practice of delaying work on important tasks in favor of less challenging ones. Chronic procrastinating hinders productivity and affects our state of mind by creating anxiety and stress (Reichelt). As deadlines approach, one often feels frustration and guilt for not starting on a task earlier. We often assume that projects won't take as long to finish as they really will, which often results in a mad scramble to finish the project in the twenty-four hours before the projects deadline. One of the biggest factors contributing to procrastination is the misconception that we need to be inspired or in the mood to work on the task at hand (Reichelt). However, the reality is that if you wait for the “right time” you will most likely wait for an indefinite amount of time and the task will never get completed.
...t is nearly impossible to even make a dent in that important school project, or a clean house for expected company, but the body tries anyway.
Motivation is key in the workplace. It is developed from the collaboration of both conscious and unconscious principles such as the strength of desire or need, motivating force or reward estimation of the objective, and desires of the person and of his or her peers/co-workers. An illustration is an understudy that invests additional energy contemplating for a test since he or she needs a superior review in the class. The Inside and outside principles that animate want and vitality in individuals to be constantly intrigued and centered around their work, part or subject, or to try to achieve an objective.
Information When you think of a person who is physically fit you probably think of a sprinter, gymnast, weightlifter, football player, or basketball player. There is so much to physical fitness besides being one of those people. For decades, physiologist and fitness organizations have tried to come up with an answer and here it is. “Physical fitness- a measure of the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, resist hypokinetic disease (diseases from sedentary lifestyles), and to meet emergency situations .” Sometimes they add to the definition stating it is the ability to transmit genes to the next generation. Now, this is the short answer for what physical fitness it is much longer is and detailed

Created by Rudolf Laban, the Laban Movement Analysis is comprised of four main categories: body, space, effort and relationships as the main concepts. All of which are involved in Movement Education and a popular tool for dancers, actors, musicians, athletes and physical therapists. The category of “body” describes the physical and structural characteristics of the human body while in movement. This explains which parts of the body are moving, which are connected and are influenced by others. Laban then describes space, which involves motion in connection with the environment. Also referred to the as the “space” in which the body moves. Effort or quality of body movement is a system for deciphering how movement is done with respect to inner intention. Lastly is the concept of relationships amongst body parts, individuals, groups and objects. Each of these concepts coordinate with the movement analysis wheel.
