Information When you think of a person who is physically fit you probably think of a sprinter, gymnast, weightlifter, football player, or basketball player. There is so much to physical fitness besides being one of those people. For decades, physiologist and fitness organizations have tried to come up with an answer and here it is. “Physical fitness- a measure of the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, resist hypokinetic disease (diseases from sedentary lifestyles), and to meet emergency situations .” Sometimes they add to the definition stating it is the ability to transmit genes to the next generation. People who are obese on average were 1,429 dollars higher than people who were not. “Non-Hispanic blacks have the highest age adjusted reats of obesity at 47.8 percent followed by Hispanic 42.5 percent, non-Hispanic whites at 32.6 percent, and non-Hispanic Asians at 10.8 percent.” “Obesity is higher among middle age adults, 40-59 year olds at 39.5 percent than among younger adults, age 20-39 at 30.3 percent, or adults over 60 or above at 35.4 percent.” Other things like if the non-Hispanic black and Mexican American men have higher incomes are more likely to be obese then those of lower income. The first health probably from being overweight is Coronary Heart Disease. When a person’s body weight rises so does there risk for coronary heart diseases or CHD. CHD is a condition when a waxy substance called plaque starts to build up inside of the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries supply oxygen filled blood to the heart. Plaque will narrow or block these arteries which will reduce blood flow to the heart and muscles. This could cause a heart attack in person and being obese can also lead to heart failure. This is a very serious condition where your heart can’t pump enough blood to meet your body’s needs. The next thing is high blood pressure and this is when the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. If this pressure on the walls of the arteries stays too high over time it will damage the body in many ways. So if a person is overweight then they have a higher change of having high blood pressure. When a person is obese it can lead to a build of plaque in your arteries and if one of these areas of plaque rupture it can cause a blood clot to form. Hopefully this clot is not by a person’s brain because if it is it can block the flow of blood to your brain and cause a stroke. You also could get type two Diabetes which is a disease when the body’s blood glucose, or blood sugar, level is way too high. Usually the body will break down food into glucose,

I personally have been affected by obesity, as obesity run through my family specifically my father’s side of the family. Living in food deserts, or being constantly on the road has contributed. As the saying goes “health is wealth”, a good health is as primary a need in human life as food, clothing, and shelter. Exercise plays a key role in achieving a good health. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, exercise can be defined as the “physical activity that is done in order to become stronger and healthier”. Scott Roeben, a humorist and creator of the award-winning humor Web site, Dribbleglass.com.Scott, in his article “The Case Against Exercise” states that the claim that exercise is a good and positive thing is a ludicrous claim and is the most destructive rumor among the rumors spread upon the humankind. He believes that exercise causes human suffering rather than promoting better health and a longer life and that the hazards
“More than one third of America’s population is obese, which is about 35.4% including: men, women, and children” (www.cdc.gov). Unfortunately, this statistic is 100% true. America is hungry, constantly. This definitely shows that the land of liberty is growing in the midsection; no, not the Midwest, on the bellies of the people who live throughout the nation. America has a typical hierarchy of factors who rule the over the obese population. Junk food, lack of mobility, and undereducated knowledge of a healthy lifestyle, often contradict the fate of an obese person.

Two careers in this field of study could be a gym teacher, or a recreation worker. A gym teachers overall description could be “To develop in each student an understanding of the relationship of body function
