For my whole life I have always loved organization. Not just the big day-to-day routine aspects, but also the little things. I always organize M&Ms by their color before I eat them, I always separate my food into their own places on my plate, and I always try to do everything in a specific order every time.
However once I enrolled in high school something even greater than organization became part of me. I chose to join the marching band, there I learned that organization and efficiency can benefit each other. What allowed us to be as good as we were was not just hard work, but that we were efficient. Immediately, efficiency formed a perfect marriage with organization in my life. Furthermore, I met all of my closest friends during the countless hours we spent during practice. One whom was Patrick, who also loves organization as much as I do.

During March, the tubas are sent to an instrument repair shop to get fixed and are gone for around three weeks. Last year when the tubas came back someone did not put them in their right places so, of course, soon after school got out, Patrick and I organized them all into numerical order and neatly organized them across the wall. It’s just something we did because we liked doing it. About a week later, Patrick and I waited in one of the band director’s offices because we wanted to get a pass to come down later that day for student resource time, however, normally the director isn’t too cheerful about handing out passes. The director told

A community is a group of people who share something in common whether it be location, interest or a common goal. Communities are what bring people together and that is exactly what happens in marching band. Marching band is a way for people to find their place and make friends. It is very important not only for growth in music, but also for growth in character and friendship. There is only one requirement for marching band and that is to be able to play an instrument and be willing to practice hard. The people who join marching band do not need to have similar like and dislikes, majors, or even anything remotely in common.
Despite not being a part of over 20 different organizations, as some claim to be, being a part of a smaller number of groups has allowed me to focus on developing my leadership skills more thoroughly than I could otherwise. Not spreading myself too thin has made me much more committed and involved in the organizations that I am a part of, making my influences so much stronger. I firmly believe that I am trying my absolute best not only in school, but in leaving my comfort zone and being an active member in our community. I am honored that I have been considered for such a prestigious invitation as
Practicing the song and motions for the Waseca Marching Indoor Concert is nerve-racking, especially since this will be the final opportunity to practice with the high school band. I walk into the dim gymnasium and line up with the woodwinds. When all of the other musicians are in line with their sections, a bass drummer signals for the music to begin. I completely forget about my uncertainty and focus entirely on the music and the motions. While I play I remind myself what the next move is and I verify that I am moving with the woodwinds. After the song is over I am confident that I will do well for the Indoor Concert. Being in the Waseca Marching Band is difficult considering that it is necessary to memorize the actions and the music, and

Planning and being organized helps me manage my everyday life by keeping up with my daily schedule at work and being able to keep up with assignments from each of my classes. As a counselor in training my instructors informs my fellow classmates and I on how important it is on being well organized especially in a therapeutic session. You want for all of your notes and the client’s personal information to be well kept and organized so when the next session arrives you will be able to see if there have been
Additionally, personal organisation is a strong skill in which I possess. This is because I am able to organise myself effectively to ensure that al deadlines, dates and times were met appropriately and that I am always on time and not late. I would need to be organised for a health care job as I would have to be on time for work changeovers to ensure that I had up to date knowledge on how patients are doing.
It took serious strength to be a part of the WMHS Marching Band. The students had to endure a long and incredibly hot summer camp, but they did not let the heat stand in the way of preparing for a phenomenal season while doing so they created many long lasting relationships. "Although it's hard work, the students involved loved the relationships that were built!" exclaimed Brittani Ricks '17. The excessive work helped students to "Improve as a musician," stated Sydney Matiska '18 and it shows during performances. There are many responsibilities that come with being in marching band, especially for those with titles. For example Macey Wolf '16 ,and Ricks were the drum majors for the 2015-2016 school year. Some of the responsibilities the drum
Although the actual game is usually the key focus during football games, there are many other integral parts that make up the game day experience. Next to football, the marching band is a main act that is a big part of the overall experience. From the high school level all the way up to the college level, marching band has become a competitive and admired aspect of football games. If you look up at the stands of a football game with a marching band playing, you can more often times than not find fans singing and dancing along to the music that is hyping up both the players and the crowd. The days of cheerleaders being the sole sideline entertainment are long gone. Now the cheerleaders share the stage with the marching band in order to provide
The activity that I cherish the most and am the proudest of is playing drums for my school’s marching band. After the long, arduous nights of making sure our drill is perfect and playing the show repeatedly until it becomes second nature to us, marching band is the one activity that I am always striving to be better in. It taught me that if one wants to achieve greatness, one must be willing to put a serious amount of effort into everything one attempts. It instructed me that the road to success is suffused with deterrents and that failure is a state that we must become comfortable with. Essentially, with every mistake, comes a greater accomplishment. Marching band is my most purposeful commitment because it has made me into a leader who is

Looking at my own approach to time management I have noticed that I am well organised and good at prioritising tasks and jobs. When I log onto my computer to start my shift I am sent down numerous jobs, each job is different and has different deadlines for attendance and completion. I plan my day based around the date and time deadlines of the jobs and also the locations of the jobs. I then schedule the most effective order of completing the jobs, putting high priority jobs at the top of my list and grouping sites that are geographically close to each other. By effectively planning my day I keep a focused attitude towards my work and I have time to think about tasks and situations, rather tha...
My smart goal is to manage my test anxiety and organization skills so that I can become more organized and a productive citizen in the future. Organization skills is one of the many qualities that employers look for in a job applicant. This skill helps them pick out a great candidate that has great organization skills as well as time management skills. This is one of the two skills that I would love to improve to keep myself organized and manage my stress and anxiety while testing under precarious circumstances.
In today's fast paced world often times we don’t realize how we go through life at full speed never slowing down to just stop and take a breath. Always trying to get to the next appointment, teachers meeting, and get togethers with friends and family; time is fleeting. For the people out there that have no problem with organizing their life I applaud you. Being able to manage everything without missing a beat is something I wish I was accomplished at. But my outside obligations to work, and family are constantly getting in the way of my schooling.
A messy desk does not necessarily imply the absence of order. To be more specific, it can be a highly effective prioritizing mechanism. On a messy desk, the most important and urgent work will generally be on top of the piles or close by, while the least useful stuff will be near the bottom. This filing system helps us easily find the documents we need. On the contrary, a person with an organized desk may need to take some time to remind himself of the location of a specific file and look for the right filing cabinet or folder before he can find that file. By flexibly reducing the time we spent on looking for specific things, the seemingly disordered desk can provide people with more efficiency. Take myself as an example. I have a messy desk as well as a messy bookshelf. My bookshelf is filled with papers and books from different courses. Textbooks and files from the past quarters are at the bottom of the bookshelf, and sometimes they are even laid on the floor. Meanwhile, several books stay on my desk. I should put them back on the bookshelf but I wouldn’t because I consult them all the time for writing, class preparation, and sometimes just for fun when I need to relax. I am currently working on my psychology project, which requires references from five different books. According to my course schedule, I will start another research paper when I am done with the current project. I am busy with my school projects with no time to clean my desk and bookshelf. Most importantly, although my bookshelf looks messy, there is a clear organizational system where books on the same topic stay together, and the books that I frequently read will stay on the upper shelves while those that I do not read that much will go to the bottom. I have a sense of where things are and where they should be. My desk and bookshelf perfectly function and support me to perform with greater productivity in three distinctive ways. First of all, I can
