This weekend I went to my brother Dalton’s track meet for his college. For the 400 6 out of 8 runners where Mankato men. Dalton boldly took 7th for the meet in the conference! Mankato won 1st place for the guys which is there 12 in a row, for inside and outside titles. Which Mankato honestly is one of the best Track and Field college’s in Minnesota for division 2. I went to my grandma's for Mother's Day. All my cousins were there and my grandma and grandpa too. We had juicy chicken for lunch, then we went outside and played an entertaining game of wiffle ball. I all went and played a game that one of my cousins invented, which is a prime creation. When they were at my house. Then the fun was over so we had to tidy up my grandma’s yard and trim
“I felt the whole Lancer nation with me that night” according to Andy Schulz the head coach of the basketball team(Schulz). That was what he was feeling on the night of the basketball state championship. In 2006-07 the General McLane Lancers football and basketball teams both won the state championship, by talking about their history, giving a game by game review, and talking about the coaches and players will show their journey.
Bill Musselman had led the University of Minnosota to a Big Ten conference championship in
This tournament, apart from entertaining students and other fans, highlights what stuff different colleges are made of. This comes at a critical time when high school seniors are considering what colleges to attend once they graduate. Thus, it is not surprising that this package of sporting events brings glad tidings to the people as it helps usher-in the beautiful spring season. However, a critical evaluation of the different teams and schools reveal the series of events -both good and not so good- that occur as they prepare for this all-important tournament.
Mother’s Day if you ask anyone is a heartfelt day to express gratitude and loving
My mom had been going to school in Greeley and staying at my Aunt Margaret's house . She had been away for two weeks and wanted to come home for the Fourth of July weekend. My mom had suggested that I go back with her and visit colleges, shop, go to movies and just spend time together. I had been feeling pretty sorry for myself since she had been gone. I had been working alot as a maid and helping my dad run the house, I was getting very irritated with my siblings as I felt that I was the only family member doing my part to help my dad. I was really excited to have a week with my mom to myself. The whole ride over we were talking about what I wanted to do that week. Making plans and having "me time" seemed very important at the time.
It was an exciting day for me and I didn’t even know what was going to happen. My grandpa came to my house and then he told my brother Luke and I that he was going to take us on a fishing trip to Canada with his friend. We were so excited when he told us I told Grandpa, “This will be the best summer vacation ever!” After he told us we went and got gear like fishing poles, rain suites and food. When we got to the house the morning we were leaving, he showed us a picture of the cabin we would be staying in for the week. It took us a while to pack the car we all packed some of the same foods.
Cradling my new baby brother, I watched my mom out in the garden as she gingerly placed the
Moral distress is defined as “when one knows the right thing to do, but institutional constraints make it nearly impossible to pursue the right course of action,” (Butts & Rich, 2022, p.76). In Five Days at Memorial, moral distress certainly occurred among nurses, as Hurricane Katrina brought up a lot of tough situations and choices to be made. The nursing staff all had the desire to give the care they normally provide to their patients, but limited resources and staff made this impossible at times. “The heat and a shortage of diapers and fresh linens had defeated the nursing staff's efforts to keep patients dry and clean. Her skin was raw,” (Fink, 2016, p.193).
I would spend summers with her reading different books with green cellophane to make it easier for me to keep track of the line I was on. The first book we read together was Amber Brown Goes Fourth by Paula Danziger. I remember I absolutely hated reading that book because my confidence level with reading was so low. I was miserable and dreaded reading that book every night before bed. Those nights reading with my grandma is what put me on track to becoming the literate person I am today. My grandma would also take me to different programs at the local library, they would host read a louds and a few other programs to get kids engaged. The one that sticks out in my mind is where I got to create my own book; I was able to write and illustrate the
We moved closer to her once I started school. My Grandma met my brother and me almost always once we got home from school. It was always welcoming to have a friendly face when you got home. She taught me how to read and write and once I was able to read she dedicated numerous books to me that she always recommended and had such a vivid story. On hot summer days she would take us to the beach and play in the water and sand, or have a great time running around on the park, or just going there to enjoy a nice picnic. We had such a long walk to our front door of numerous winding steps and she came up with a game to play down them. We called ...
Three days later, my mom called and said she would be on her way to help pack the camper to move but my sister, Bryce, had to stay home for cheer. My dad had work the day she was on her way so I cleaned to camper most of that day, and took care of Wade’s dogs. When she was about 100 miles away from the town I was in she called me and we talked then she hung up and called me right back. I was wondering why she was calling me but I answered and it was MY SISTER! I was so excited because her birthday was two days later and I got to spend it with her.Eventually, they got there and I was so happy to see them. And that was the end of me being alone in
Thanksgiving in the Seidel house always starts with me begging my mom to make “Duck Cake” more commonly know as dirt cake. I have memories of being a small toddler and running into the kitchen and shouting “Mommy, Mommy can I help you crush the Oreos?”, “Of course, you can”, my mother would reply in a sweet tone and she would pick me up, and she set me on the counter. My mom did this so I could reach the Oreos. After we crushed the Oreos into small pieces, she would tell me to go and play with Morgan. So my mom could finish cooking us a delicious lunch. When I had been playing with Morgan for an hour or two, my mom would call us down to set the table for our lunch. My dad arrives at the table after spending the morning watching the parade with
I finished up mine and went and met up with my mother for dinner — we hadn’t seen nor spoke to each other for three months, so this date in one way led to us talking again.
It was a great day for my family. We were celebrating my aunt’s college graduation in
First, I came back home, took warm shower, and got dressed. Then, I went to the living room to watch television. While watching television, I ate my supper in the living room, while my mom was reading her local newspaper sitting on the sofa. My mom's best friend was our next door neighbor. My mom's best friend called my mom to her house to have some private conversation. When my mom left, I got too excited because that time I was suppose to study at home and finish all my homework before the bedtime, even though Friday meant no school. Usually that does not always stay the same when my mom is at home. My private teacher lived right next to our house. When my mom stays at work, my teacher used to sneak on me, just to see if I was studying or playi...
