My Hero's Journey

It all started when we were in our Kansas home, mom said by the time we got to Ohio I had to make up my mind. She was talking about if I wanted to drive back to Kansas later that week because my sister had to go to cheer camp or if I wanted to stay in Ohio with my dad. Now see my dad works in the oil and natural gas pipeline industry so he’s always in a new state. He had been working in Ohio for a few months be for we decided to go up there. I dismissed the decision my mom had given me and continued to pack. When I was packing I packed a little more just incase I decided to stay there.

We always drive anywhere we go so I really had extra time to make my decision but I just couldn’t decide. My mom said it would be right around a month that

I would be there, that scared me a little. We got there on a Sunday so I had until Friday to make my decision. Until then I had to weigh the pros and cons, because I’m extra like that.

Eventually, Friday rolled around and I had come to the conclusion, I was going to stay. On that following Saturday my mom and sister left and there I was all alone. My dad worked everyday except for Sundays so I was alone most of the time. Three days after my Mom and sister left, My dad and I went over to his co-worker Thad’s camper to talk. After we had been there for about 20 minutes his other co-worker Wade came over with his two dogs. I love dogs so naturally I went up to pet them and they were so sweet.

A little while later I was still with the dogs and Wade asked me, “ If you want to will take care of them for me?”

I was so happy he asked so I said, “ Of course I will.” The dogs names are Dozer and Diesel. Dozer is a one year old bloodhound and labrador mix, and Diesel is a four year old black labrador.

That following day I walked over to his camper and the dogs were going crazy! I walked inside and both of them were in their kennels. Diesel had on a muzzle wich shocked me, but later on Wade said it was because he tore everything up. I hooked up the dogs to their leashes and headed to the campgrounds dog park. After the dog park we went back to my camper and I gave them baths. After the bathes, we sat outside and I played fetch with them.

I had been taking care of them for about a two and a half weeks and my dads other co-worker Even’s fiance Brittney came to visit him with their baby Camden.

I had previously met Brittney and Camden so, I texted Brittney asking her if she wanted to go get her nails done with me and get some lunch because I hadn't been out of the campground in like nine days.

The weekend afterwards my dad had to find a new campground in Michigan because his pipeline moved up there. My dad, his co-workers and I drove up there, because it was only about an hour to get there, to look for a campground. While we were driving I was searching for campgrounds and I found one to go look at. We went and looked at it and that was the campground we all decided on.

Three days later, my mom called and said she would be on her way to help pack the camper to move but my sister, Bryce, had to stay home for cheer. My dad had work the day she was on her way so I cleaned to camper most of that day, and took care of Wade’s dogs. When she was about 100 miles away from the town I was in she called me and we talked then she hung up and called me right back. I was wondering why she was calling me but I answered and it was MY SISTER! I was so excited because her birthday was two days later and I got to spend it with her.Eventually, they got there and I was so happy to see them. And that was the end of me being alone in

Ohio.
