Mandate Student Dress Code

“ Every action has a reaction.” Due to several disciplinary issues, school administration had no choice but to mandate student dress code. Putting in a dress code gives students a reasonable outline of what to wear, but allows for individuality. There is no need to implement a new dress code for teachers, because no issues have occurred. Students pushing the limits forced the administration's hand into action.
Walking into high school the personality of others is plastered on their shirts. You can tell who is rich by the brand name logo, the laid back ”dude” in a graphic t-shirt, the sweet girl with a flowy dress and a bright smile, the kid who did not get enough sleep with a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a yawn to match. I know what it feels like to go thrift store shopping for days resulting in only a couple of nice outfits. You learn to grow out of wanting “what's in style” and just go for what fits. My style certainly is different, and I take pride in that, but I would be lying if I said I do not get embarrassed sometimes. I would no longer have to answer questions such as “What brand is that?” and respond with “Goodwill” I know who I am on the inside caries to my outside, despite the brand I wear. Having a uniform positively would affect my life by lowering the gap of difference between me and others. In addition, It would save families money. They would only need to buy 5 outfits to last the week, instead of twenty or more. As well as money, it saves time. Getting up at 6 my eyes are still groggy as I shuffle around looking for a shirt to match my pants.
