In the movie The Loft, five married men shared ownership of an up-marker loft. The loft can be used at anytime for any reason. When the body of a murdered woman in found later in the loft, five men begin to suspect each other for committing a gruesome crime. Having only five keys, one for each man. The men start spilling there secret’s on what’s happened in the loft before. The movie itself portrays a variety of concepts where the men in the movie are able to have a secret from everyone. The men are able to use different identities when inside the loft. We are able to see how being in a enclosed group effects how people act and portray themselves to stay in the group, social influences and conformity helped these men to change there belief on how to handle each other and the situation they gotten in by the lack of authority. …show more content…

De-individualization; Becoming someone in the group who’s just there and doesn’t stand out, but goes along with what everyone else in doing. One of the men in the group, Luke was always one of the friends that didn’t speak up much. Luke had lost his identity when being in the group with the men, Luke was an uneasy, unsure man. But before ever making any decisions on his own he looked up to the group on there decisions before making his own. Before accepting the key for the loft Luke was able to look at everyone else to see there responses before ever making a logical decision. We see de-individualization in big or small groups like this
