community's health quality conditions and to learn about their medical needs.
After becoming a registered Nurse, I want to become a school nurse. Additionally, I want to help and support a healthy school environment, assist children with certain chronic health conditions to attend school and over all promote students with their health and learning. The second biggest career goal that I want to accomplish is to provide nutrition education to support children, their families and the community. This will help contribute to the physical development of kids and offer a solution to malnutrition in the neighborhoods. I receive government assistance to make ends meet until I can get a job. However, I am seeking the aid for the percentage of the tuition I can't cover on my own in the future. Receiving the foundation's scholarship will enable me to concentrate on my examinations amid the week without worrying about procuring additional assets. I will apply for a weekend job to cover any living expenses, I would have the capacity to keep the weekdays allowed to study. I know that all of my goals will remain just a dream if I do not
complete my Nursing degree. Therefore, I am committed to working hard in school and looking for opportunities that could help me make my goals a reality. I believe I deserve to be selected for one of the foundation's scholarships because as a hard working student I am committed to effectively taking advantage of the opportunities that the scholarships will provide me. Besides, I am a student that does not only tirelessly work hard academically, but I also constantly try to improve my own community's quality of life by doing volunteer work. I believe education is the key to success, and I try to connect my passion for education with my desire of helping others. As a result, I decided to be a part of the establishment of a non-profit organization called, Womens and childrens Horizon. I am grateful to find opportunities like the one that your foundation is providing to students like me who are constantly fighting for the right to receive an education. I remain persistent and will keep working hard until I reach my career goals. I am hopeful to become one of your foundation's scholarship recipients, so that I can continue on my pathway to become a Nurse.
There is an idea that school nurses operate very differently than a nurse in a hospital or doctor’s office, but the truth is everything I learned as a hospital nurse, I use at the school. Counter to what people may think, which is that school nurses are there to send students home when sick, their job is actually to do everything they can to treat, prevent, and monitor to make sure that students can continue to learn without the barriers that poor health can cause. A credentialed school nurse is, by law, a registered nurse with at least a bachelor's degree in nursing and usually a Public Health Nurse certification, plus the necessary School Health Services Credential. The health credential takes at least two years of education beyond the bachelor's, plus hands-on work.
Nursing is a special field of work that requires a well-rounded, dedicated individual with a vast variety of aptitudes such as: patience, empathy, respect, the ability to be detail oriented, creativity, social interaction skills, flexibility, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal skills. All of which I have been fortunate enough to establish and build upon through my education and 9+ years of experience as a certified nurse’s aide. Based upon my knowledge of Molloy’s College Bachelors of Science in nursing dual degree program for second degree students, I believe I would be an excellent fit. I am a hard worker with a considerable amount of experience in providing basic patient care, I demonstrate dedication to the field of nursing and I am prepared for the challenges associated with the
One day I hope to become a Nurse Practitioner giving compassionate and adequate care to those individuals who are less fortunate and are in need of care. My life experiences, educational background, and determination will drive me through what's to come as I prepare myself to gain my BSN and become a Nurse. It is with great pleasure and excitement that I am applying for admission to Colorado Christian University. I never thought after having a family that I would be attending college. I want to show my children that with hard work and a good spirit anything is possible. They look to me for guidance daily as they grow and mature into who they will become both professionally and spiritually. They are the driving life force moving me forward testing myself with every learning experience. After what I have accomplished so far I know that I can go further and complete what I believe will be my impression and imprint on this world. When I am gone I will look back happily at the legacy I have left for my family as well as the persons I will

During my undergraduate years in college I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to become when I “grew up”. I would study various professions and never felt like anything fit for me. One evening I sat down with my aunt, a nurse, and I was talking to her about how I couldn’t decide on a major and how frustrating it was to be in college feeling as if I did not have any direction. She looked at me with complete surprise on her face and said, “You aren’t applying for nursing school?” I stared at her for a moment because I was confused as to why she would ask me that. She chuckled and proceeded to tell me that she had always assumed that I would be a nurse because I spent several years of my life taking care of my 3 year old cousin who had cancer. For three years I was his caregiver and it had never occurred to me that I could make a living caring for people. I then spent countless hours researching nursing and what exactly nurses did. This was it! I had finally found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! It took no time at all to know that I wanted to specialize in pediatrics. Throughout my clinical experiences in nursing school I have immensely enjoyed working on the Pediatric units as well as the Nursery. I am now absolutely certain that I am meant to be a pediatric nurse. Cook Children’s is recognized as a Magnet-designated hospital and is one of the best children’s hospitals in the US. Being a Cook Children’s nurse resident would allow me to fulfill my passion and dream of pediatric nursing. I am interested in a nurse residency at Cook Children’s because of its excellent reputation in patient satisfaction, standard of care, and community involvement. A residency at Cook Children’s would allow me to gain more experience and know...
My interest in nursing is fairly new; I had not explored the potential that a nursing career can offer. I became familiar with nursing professionally after becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. While working with patients, side-by-side with nurses I became enamored with the potential of a nursing career. I now have a rewarding career working as a Medical-Surgical nurse on a Medical University Hospital floor that specializes in Transplant, Nephrology and Urology. Nursing encompasses the ideologies that fuel my passion, upon further research, and conversation with coworkers I realize my career goal of Family Nurse Practitioner; affording me the privilege to care for others by reaching out to various
My academic goal is to graduate in the Top 10% of my class. I have gained knowledge of the nursing profession through classroom training activities, local medical facility visits, inspirational speakers and mentor presentations. It has motivated me to continue my education. It has also helped me realize that taking care of the needs of others is important; the way in which I can do this is by becoming a nurse. I know this is my calling to care for others, and for me this program has made it possible. I propose to myself to get at least an A in all my

“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be

Completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) has been one of my goals after I graduated from my Associate Degree in Nursing, and I said one of my goals because my ultimate goal is to become an Advance Practice Registered Nurse. It is the first time I am taking classes online and all my efforts will be in turn this journey into a positive experience to achieve my goals. One of the biggest challenge is to overcome the lack of time between my family and my work, but it is essential for my career to achieve the Bachelor Degree in Nursing, as well as personal development. Although I have had experience as a student, as a nurse, and as a leader, I would like to have more challenging job opportunities in my future. From my college experience,
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
I wish to obtain a college education because I want to make my future the best that I can and I believe that a college education is really important for one to obtain. Without a college education one will not have the ability of success like one will if they decide to go to college. I want to go to college not only to get a higher education but also so I will be able to help other people with my career choice. Being a nurse will give me the ability to help people everyday with the special needs that only a college graduate will be able to provide. Although there are many other career fields that help people everyday I believe that nursing is the most important. I think I am deserving of this scholarship because education has always been my
My ideal career would allow me to do something that interests me. I enjoy working with words and with numbers. I've also had success in the areas of technology and customer service.
It has been my craving in every aspect of life to do things differently, chart my own path and tread in to uncharted territory. Nine years back, this what made me join a course in bachelor of marine engineering at MERI, the only institute in India exclusively offering such a course. Idea of venturing in to high sees, braving the storms with only handful of resources and almost completely cut off from out side world made adrenaline pumping in to my veins. All this along with opportunity to get exposure to highly sophisticated systems on board ships, which was fodder for my technical bent of mind seemed perfect for my adventure seeking personality. Through out my career progression I have made such decisions like joining LNG shipping pool of my company and seeking extra professional qualification of eligibility to sail on diesel engine driven as well as turbine driven ships
