Law enforcement agencies not only include small town police but they also include larger agencies such as the FBI, secret services and so forth. The small-town police who are considered local or county-level law enforcement includes municipal, sheriffs, county, etc. They usually deal with situations that are local. Local situations could include but not be limited to patrolling highways and reporting accidents that happen on major highways. On the other hand, federal agencies perform more serious duties such as protecting America from terrorist attacks. Federal agencies include U.S. Marshals Service which is a federal agency whose duties include tracking down a fugitive. State agencies basic jobs are patrolling the highways and reporting to accidents that happens on major highways. Some may even issue driver’s license. Some state agencies assist local agencies in specific investigations, if need be. For example, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation(GBI) investigates accusation of political corruption and assists local law enforcement agencies with cross jurisdictional issues (Fuller, 2014). State agencies also keep crime laboratories that oversees evidence across the state. Each state has their lower level services that deals with alcohol and fishing
...nt to work together has increased. It has become more common place for federal law enforcement to work with local law enforcement. The monetary influence from programs administered by the Executive Branch with such programs as COPS, helps bring new technologies to local police agencies, thus impacting policing. Moreover, the federal law enforcement’s creation of new crime fighting technologies, eventually make their way into the state and local police departments. This supports the idea that both the Legislative and Executive Branches influence law enforcement; however, the Executive Branch provides a more direct and active influence.

The Texas government is a complex system whose ultimate purpose is to serve its citizens. Oftentimes, its complexity in certain aspects causes problems in its efficiency in serving. The way the Texas Constitution is written, how local governments run, the judicial, legislative, and executive branches’ efficiency, as well as Texas public policy and fiscal policy result in a government that is not set up to best serve its citizens.

A critical examination of police departments across the United States would show that while law enforcement agencies do common work, few agencies utilize the identical same strategy to tackle crime and disorder problems within their communities. Many agencies still deploy a traditional response model to address routine and emergency calls for service. The response model places a high emphasis on fast response times to calls for service and effective investigations which result in arrest and prosecution. However, more and more agencies are implementing variations of new strategies to deal with crime and disorder issues within their jurisdictions. Some of these newer strategies include community-policing, hot-spot policing and

The number of law enforcement agencies that we have in our government is so great that they cant help but over-lap when it comes to their jurisdiction. With anywhere from 20,000 to 25,000 different agencies that they bump head to head when it comes to cases. All the agencies come from different levels: local, county, state, federal and tribal agencies. It is a problem because if the agencies are fighting over who has control of the crime scene and all their different techniques when it comes to solving crime, they will be inefficient when it comes to solving the crime. There should be a single law enforcement agency within all fifty states.

How well has federalism worked in the United States? This is all a matter of opinion. Federalism has indeed been an active structure for government that fits in quite well with the changing American society. This particular system of government has been around for over two hundred years, and under all those years the separation of power under American federalism has changed numerous amounts of times in both law and practice. The United States Constitution does allow changes and amendments in the Constitution have assigned miscellaneous roles to the central and state governments than what originally intended. The suitable equilibrium between national and state powers is repeatedly an issue in American Politics.

The agency with greater availability to financial support is the agency that has the means to devise a team to focus on certain crime areas. All departments regardless of size must have someone at the top of the rank structure. A police department operates much like the military in which structure and chain of command is implemented. Quasi-military is a term used to describe the rank structure of today’s police departments (Grant and Terry 2012). From the bottom to the top of the r...
