Linhenykus
Linhenykus is an extinct genus of alvarezsaurid theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Inner Mongolia, China. It is the most known member of the Parvicursorinae. The genus gets its name from Linhe, a city near the site where the fossil was first found and Greek nykus, . The specific name is derived from Greek monos, and daktylos, a reference to the fact that it is the only known non-avian dinosaur to have had but a single digit. Most of these Linhenykus had three fingers just like the dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus rex. The Linhenykus has lost the outer stumps and is the only dinosaur with a one finger hand. But this was not the result of evolution in progress as it was closer to the base of the alvarezsaurid family tree
Ceratopsians and Pachycephalosaurs are closely related in their characteristics. Ceratopsians processed a saddle-shaped boney frill that extended from the skull to the neck and typically had horns over the nose and eyes. The most popular was the triceratops, which could reach over 26 feet and weigh in excess of twelve metric tons. Their frills served as two major functions. It protected the vulnerable neck from being harmed. The second major function that the frill provided was due to the fact that the frill contained a network of blood vessels on its underside, which were used as a means to get rid of excess heat. The Pachycephalosaurs were considered to be bipedal. They were also found to have thick skulls, flattened bodies, and tail that were covered in an array of body rods. Pachycephalosaurs were thought to have been more than fifteen feet long and processed a skull that was surrounded by a rounded dome of solid bone. It was thought that they used their heads in combat or mating contests, but that was disproved fairly recently, which I will discuss later in the paper. Both Ceratopsians and Pachycephalosaurs were “bird-hipped” and both of these suborders contained a backwards pubic bone. Both were Marginocephilia, or “fringed heads”, which is one of three clads under the Orinthiscia order. They were also herbivore dinosaurs that inherited their fringe at the back of the skull from earlier ancestors.(2) Their classi...
In 1801 President Thomas Jefferson asked Meriwether Lewis to act as his private secretary. Meriwether Lewis was a skilled frontiersman and an amateur scientist. Around 1804 Thomas Jefferson made Meriwether Lewis another offer, he asked him if he would led an expedition into the lands west of the Mississippi. Lewis asked one of his closet friend, William Clark, if he would join Lewis in this expedition; William Clark agreed to be his co-captain. Meriwether Lewis was an extraordinary man for the things he's accomplished as a frontiersman, amateur scientist, an intellectual and a explorer.
Located on the third-floor, arched ceiling, Edward Laning’s mural Prometheus watches over the many travelers, students, and New Yorkers who visit the New York Public Library in Manhattan. This mural was created in 1942 under the New Deal’s Work Progress Administration and was never part of Laning’s original collection, The Story of the Recorded Word, that adorned the McGraw Rotunda. Prometheus was a mural that was later added to the rotunda ceiling in January 1942, but unlike the other murals, it did not depict the story of the recorded word. This mural instead showed the myth of Prometheus, the Greek Titan who stole the fire from the gods at Mount Olympus and gave it to mankind. In this mural, we see Prometheus in the middle flying above a
During the Holocaust in 1933 a lot of Jewish parents were trying to hide their children to protect them from harm or death by the Nazis. The Nazis were trying to kill all Jewish people. There are a lot of people that were risking their lives for the children of Jews. I’m going to be talking about one of the woman that helped save some children. Caecilia Antonia Maria Loots was a hero of the holocaust because she helped save children while putting her life at risk.
Lithium (Li), the third element on the periodic table, has a soft texture and a silver-white color. This element has an atomic number of three, and is located on the periodic table in the second period of the first group. In addition to being the first alkali metal on the periodic table, lithium is also the lightest metal; its weight is about 6.941 atomic mass units (AMU). Because it is a metal, lithium is mainly used in ionic bonds. Its common compounds include lithium hydride (LiH), lithium nitride (Li3N), lithium carbonate (Li2CO3), lithium hydroxide (LiOH), and lithium fluoride (LiF). Lithium is the thirty-third most abundant element and makes up a very small portion of the Earth’s crust. However, due to its high reactivity, it does not naturally occur in its pure form.
SelenaBy: Aidan DoodyTopic 2 - Discrimination, Prejudice, and IdentityDiscuss the difficulties that Selena and her family faced after moving to the United States. What instances of discrimination or prejudice did Abraham, Selena, or the family face? How did this affect their identity as individuals and as a family? Did this cause their identity to change over time? If so, how? What challenges can you see for other immigrants in regards to maintaining the culture while adapting to a new one? Selena and her family had been discriminated against other people. One instance of this is when Selena and her family and Selena's friends started a club,
Leif Erickson. You may not know him, but he was the founder of America. He was a viking, one of the only ones to step foot on the North American continent. I know, you were taught that Christopher Columbus discovered America. Well you were taught wrong. People can argue this but there is actually a Leif Erikson day. October 9th.

...ll. This group still remained successful during the Jurassic period and had a wide geopraphic distribution. Other reptiles evolved to not only live on land, but to fly. The earliest known birds appeared during this period; Archaeoteryx being the first to be considered the intermediate between the birds and predatory dinosaurs. It is debated on whether this ancient bird could actually fly or merely glid from tree to tree. Carnosaurus, meaning “meat-eating” is another group of dinosaurs that ruled during the Jurassic. With such large herbivorous prey animals, the correlation of these large predators make sense of why they were so common. An Allosaurus was one of the most common Carnosaurs in North America. Upon finding numerous intact skeletons in fossil beds, it has been reported that the Allosaurus was superficially similar to the later evolving Tyrannosaurus rex.
I believe that C.S. Lewis is reasonable when he states that all men, women and children have “ some kind of Law or Rule of fair play or decent behaviour or morality.” I think this because, ever since we we born we were taught what is right and wrong. One may ask, “what is right or wrong, what is fair or unfair, what is just or unjust?” The answers, however, various from person to person, since our upbringing and experiences are different. For instance, a child born into a family were swearing was tolerated, may believe that swearing is like saying “hello”, an everyday normal word. A child born into a family that prohibited swearing, and punished for cursing, may believe that swearing is wrong. This is the predicament that most of us find our selfs in. For this reason, many of us quarrel not like animals, but in the human sense. C.S Lewis, claims that the “Law of Human Nature” is real and not a social construct. I agree with C.S Lewis since, a social construct changes with social views, and the Laws of Human Nature remain the same. A great examples of this is the Catholic Church. Roughly 60 years ago, Catholicism was extremely dominant; children, adults,
Kris Kringle and his wife, Martha, agreed to move to Elfland and live and work in the village with the Elves making the toys. In addition, they agreed that his official name would be Santa Claus. While some of the elves were busy helping Mrs. Kringle or Claus's pack and get ready for the move to their village. Staying at Elfland Santa will use the time to get use to, and working with the reindeer.
Linus Pauling was an American peace activist, chemist, author, professor, and biochemist. He was also a well respected man and defender of civil liberties and health issues. For this, he was often considered as the founding father of molecular biology and as one of the greatest scientists and humanitarians.
Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564, in Pisa, Italy. He was a mathematics professor who made pioneering observations of nature with long-lasting implications for the study of physics. Galileo constructed a machine that changed everything in astronomy, the telescope, and this supported the Copernican theory. In 1600, Galileo met Marina Gamba, a Venetian woman, who gave him three children. The daughters were Virginia and Livia, and son Vincenzo. But He never married Marina because he feared his illegitimate children would threaten his social standing. He died in Arcetri, Italy, on January 8, 1642.

He started as a politician and war general , he later became the leader of the Soviet Union. Before Lenin was the leader a man named Stalin Ruled Soviet . Lenin despised Stalin , Lenin then started to take control of the states he created.
Studying the evolutionary history and adaption for this species is difficult and an ongoing struggle for scientists. It is classified in the order of Chondrichthyes suborder Elasmobranchii and family of Rhincodontidea. The difficulty in tracing this species evolutionary history stems from the fact that its ancestry dates back 245 million year ago to the Jurassic and Cretaceous
